THIS BOOK HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED BY BABELAND. This review has been left here for anyone seeking information about the original book. If you’re currently looking for a comprehensive sex ed book, you might consider some of these sexual education books. -February 2019.
When I saw the first review of Moregasm, I just had to have this book. I ended up swapping a giftcard with another reviewer just to own it. Ever since I was younger, I’ve always loved nicely-colored and displayed books that help explain sexuality and all of the issues around it. Plus, I still have a fetish for collecting books.
Moregasm claims to be “A Real-World Guide to Getting Satisfied”. It has 270 full-color pages that help you acheive that goal. It took me about four hours to read from cover to cover because most of the pages really don’t include much text. It probably only has about 120 pages worth of text. The book itself is pretty big – about 7 inches wide and 8 inches tall while being about an inch thick. The front cover has some curves that are supposed to be breasts while the back has the giant “A Real-World Get to Getting Satified”, so I’d say it’s pretty safe to say that this book probably shouldn’t be read out in public.
The book itself is pretty useful. It reminds me of a guide you’d give to your teenage daughter while she’s growing up. It really is a fun-loving approach to all things sex. Since it does cover all things sex, no one topic gets too much attention. If you wanted specific information, it’d be best to seek out a book on that specific topic, but for overall knowledge, Moregasm definitely does its job.
One of the reappearing features of this book includes “Q and A”. At the end of each section, they include at least two pages worth of commonly asked questions with the answers they’d give. All of the questions are pretty basic, but if they address common concerns, then I’m all for it. Questions include things like “How do I even begin trying SM play?” “Can you improve a bad kisser?” and “What’s in semen?”
Another reappearing feature is “The Satisfied Customer” guide. For each chapter that could involve products, there is a guide at the end with what products Babeland recommends as well as a customer’s review excerpt of the product. There is one for anal toys, one for vibrators, one for lubricant, and many more.
There are seven chapters of Moregasm. Each one includes great information and great visuals of the basics. I was slightly surprised by the lack of much variety with the pictures in terms of body shape (almost all skinny girls and muscular guys), but they did include a couple pictures of a transsexual which is great in terms of variety. I wish, since this is supposed to be the average woman/man, they would have included pictures of what the average person would look like. Or even some variances in age instead of all the twenty-somethings.
The first chapter is “Lay of the Land: Your Body”. The first part includes pointing out some of the erogenous zones on a female body. It includes multiple pictures of each part (butt, vagina, etc.) to try and point out some of the variety we can find. It then goes into the vagina and describes it, and all of its parts, in detail. It gives some tips on kegel exercises then goes on to explain the anatomy of the butt and what spots are pleasurable. And of course, the “Cleaning and Feeding of your Lady Parts” with tips on keeping yourself clean and healthy.
Chapter 2 is “Love Thyself: The Big O, Masturbation, and Toys”. First we get an explanation of the journey your body goes through to reach orgasm and then they offer tips of what could be keeping you from orgasm. Babeland then provides a step-by-step guide on how to masturbate for those who don’t. We then get a two page explanation on lubricant. This is the section I was most disappointed in in this entire book. As a sex toy reviewer (and a 19 year old woman), the thing I’m most confused about is the different types of lubes, what in them could be harmful, and what should be used best for what. I was seriously expecting a lot more then just “lube is good. Here are some good Babeland lubes.” The next section is all about questions you should ask yourself when picking out a vibrator. We next get an explanation of the different types of toy materials with safety concerns and then “Care and Feeding of your Vibrator”.
Chapter three is “Him and His Body: Men’s Stuff”. Of course, we get a detailed look on the penis and the different parts of the butt as well. We get a step-by-step guide of what the male body goes through during orgasm then some recommendations for cock rings. For some reason, the “Babeland Bill of Rights” is stuck in here too. Great concept and it just says that you won’t force yourself to have sex just to please another person – that you will enjoy it yourself.
“Turning On, Turning In” is chapter four. We first get a refresher course in how to kiss and make it sensual. This chapter includes tips on communicating with your partner and how important it is before you get involved with someone. It also includes the “Yes/No/Maybe” list which I love. It’s a list that asks you to rate each item as “Yes/No/Maybe” then share it with your partner for ideas. Items include “cock rings, spanking, gags, golden showers, etc.”. You also get this neat little checkout of the pros and cons of pornography in this chapter. After that, Babeland took the time to explain why clothing can be an important part of your sex life. From there, we move into “fantasies” and then “SM play”. Both include tips of sharing your fantasies and the latter aspect includes safety tips on how to play with BDSM safely.
“Getting Off: By Hand or Mouth” is chapter 5. It includes tips on giving manual stimulation to a woman and to a man. Honestly, both guides are really amazing, include great tips for someone who is a beginner, and include “positions” you could even perform the act in. Next we get an entire section on giving blowjobs to a male. It includes positions, techniques you should try, and information about breast-fucking. After that comes information on going down on a woman which includes the positions and techniques as well. We then move on to “69” and some of the pros and cons of the act.
Chapter six is “Sticking It In: Doing the Deed”. I love this chapter because it emphasizes that actual intercourse is not mandatory for a good sexual session. If you don’t want to do intercourse, it’s still a great bout of sex. There is a position guide that includes some variations on the standard position as well as pros and cons of each position. None of the given positions are out of the ordinary: It’s Missionary, Cowgirl, Doggy style, Side-By-Side, Standing, and Sitting. Next we get a nice little section on using a strap-on. It’s very gender inclusive of both male/female and female/female interactions. It includes tips on picking out your harness and how to best use it. I was a little disappointed by the anal sex section: It’s just a couple pages long and will include tips and a step-by-step guide to anal sex, but considering most beginner’s confusion over it, I would have expected more.
Chapter seven, and the final chapter, is “A Lifetime of Good Sex”. First we get information on safe sex which includes different methods and their effectiveness and the different levels of risk of different sexual activities. It also includes information about the different types of STIs. After that, we get “Ask the Babes” which is just a culmination of random Q&A that didn’t fit anywhere else like having sex during pregnancy or sexuality in old age.
Moregasm is a pretty good book. I was only surprised by the lack of some substance in chapters. Like I stated before, I really expected a lot more out of the Lubricant chapter. However, since Moregasm does cover a very wide variety of sexual matters, I can’t expect them to go in-depth about one aspect. Since it does confuse many people, I would have wished they would have included more about lubricant.
While it may not be considered a con, I also was a little disappointed that is pushed its own products so much. Yes, it was from the founders of Babeland, but I really would have loved it more if it wasn’t pushing only its own products. Plus, it would have opened-up the places that the book could be sold. Some of the products it does recommend do have a great following of lovers, but some of the others, such as Babeland Lubricant, usually just have lovers on Babeland. As long as readers use the information without believing that their recommendations are the only good products, it does include a lot of amazing knowledge.
I’d say that Moregasm is very friendly to all levels of experience. It was written for those of little sexual experience, but some of the knowledge included with it would work amazingly with someone more advanced as well. I’d say the book was written for someone in their twenties, but this would work for older, more experienced couples as well. Because of the nature of the information involved, this book should not be used as an instructional book to give a teenager, but if the teenager is experienced with matters of sex, this may help improve their sex life.
Overall, I must say that I was impressed with Moregasm. While it may not include some of the “sex pictures” like other sex toy books does, this one includes a lot of knowledge. It doesn’t look threatening to the reader, includes great information, and presents all of the information in a great, fun way. Babeland carries this amazing sex book, so go over to their store to purchase Moregasm.
