The Metal Worx Luv Plug, from Adam & Eve, is a steel anal toy designed for stimulating the prostate. About four inches long with a diameter of slightly under an inch at the widest point, the Luv Plug is waterproof and includes a ring handle at the base. It’s pretty weighty, and it’s worth noting that the Metal Worx Luv Plug is made from *steel* – not stainless steel, so keep that in mind when storing and purchasing this steel prostate toy.
The packaging for the Luv Plug, just like all of the Metal Worx line, is absolutely amazing. The Luv Plug comes packaged in a steel-like case. This case is extremely solid, and it has a metal, latching buckle on the front to keep the case closed. It looks like an industrial, solid case. It’s impressive. There’s a foam insert on the inside to keep the Luv Plug in place inside the case. There’s some stickers on the outside of the box for packaging, but these stickers are designed to easily be peeled off. Once the stickers are peeled off, the case has absolutely no sexual wording on it at all, and it’s extremely discreet.
The design for the Metal Worx Luv Plug is very, very well-done. It’s very well-weighted, and this is one of those sex toys that you’ll notice when it’s inserted. One thing worth noting is that the Luv Plug isn’t completely “round”. It has more of an oval-like shape that makes it slightly longer on one of its sides than on the other. Due to the totally-manageable inserting size, though, you really don’t notice the oval-like shape too much. On the handle, you’ll notice a little gem. I haven’t had any issue with the gem falling out, but I imagine that it’s possible for it to fall out if you’ve owned this for a long time. As the entire plug is made from stainless steel, it’s entirely rigid and has no flexibility to it at all.
Because it isn’t quite the same “luxury brand” name as some of the other steel toys out there, there have been a lot of questions about the quality and design of the Luv Plug. For one, it’s just as hefty as other stainless steel toys. It’s definitely you can “feel” when it’s inserted. The finish, however, isn’t perfect. There are some black, small dots that are visible. You don’t see them unless you look really closely, but the finish of the luxury brand toys is completely spotless. These spots have no feeling to them, though, and they will not change the use of the Luv Plug in the slightest. In fact, if I didn’t have to go over the toy with a fine-tooth comb, I probably wouldn’t have noticed them. The finish of the Luv Plug, though, is completely smooth to the touch.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Luv Plug, when inserted, is how weighty it is. It definitely will make its presense known. The curved design does a good job of being the right shape, and it does seem to press against the prostate when inserted. The curvature is right, and that’s important because steel is completely rigid, and if the curvature was wrong, it’d be poking in uncomfortable ways. Instead, it has pleasurable curvature, and even with the two different “bulbed” areas, the plug goes in smoothly and feels pleasurable when inserted.
The second thing you’ll probably notice is the handle. The handle has a loop around it which does make it easier to push in and remove. At the same time, though, it adds some bulk to the handle, so if you sit down on the plug, depending on how much of a ‘butt” you have, it may be uncomfortable. We found that harder surfaces, like a kitchen chair, were insanely uncomfortable, but if it was a large, plushy seat like a fluffy couch cushion, it was okay. The handle does make it easier to jiggle around and remove the plug, though.
The Metal Worx Luv Plug does a surprisingly good job of staying in. It’s not 100% perfect, but as long as you think about it consciously, it stays in pretty nice. (It helps to be wearing some sort of underwear that will apply some pressure to the base of the plug, too). We’ve had no problem with this plug staying in while we do chores around the house or move around. So it depends on what you’re wearing and how actively you’re moving, but I don’t think you should have too much of a problem keeping the Metal Worx Luv Plug in.
The Metal Worx Luv Plug is also advertised as a good choice for temperature play, and that advertisement is valid. The Metal Worx Luv Plug does a really good job of holding whatever temperature you give it. So if you stick it in chilly water, it will be pretty chilly. If you stick it in warm water, the surface of the plug will warm up pretty quickly. This is fantastic if you have a preference towards a temperature. At the same time, this also leads to the Luv Plug being relatively chilly at times. Even when left at room temperature, the Luv Plug is going to be cold to the touch. Make sure to take the time to warm it up with your hands before inserting it to avoid a nasty, chilly surprise. Unfortunately, this “cold at room temperature” thing is a feature of most steel-type toys, so it’s something you get used to very quickly.
Since this is made from steel, you can easily clean it. Just use warm water and antibacterial soap. You could sterilize it by boiling this, but just be careful with removal as it’s extremely heavy and could easily break or crack something if you drop it. For storage, you can store it wherever you’d like, but the original case does a fantastic job of storing it. Since it’s made of steel, it’s compatible with all types of lubricants, so you should feel free to use whatever lubricant works best for you.
Overall, the Metal Worx Luv Plug is about half the cost of the “luxury brand” stainless steel version, and it feels very similar. However, with the Luv Plug, you do have to be concerned about tarnishing, and if you wanted something to be spotless, it doesn’t quite have that. So it really depends on your budget and what you want out of your anal plug. The Luv Plug feels good, though, works well for temperature play, and stays in pretty nicely, so I would say it’s a good choice. Thanks to Adam & Eve for sending out this prostate plug for my Metal Worx Luv Plug review.
