Like most items from MEO.de, the Spandex Mask with Eyes and Mouth comes packaged in a small plastic bag. This bag will need to be destroyed in order to retrieve the item out of the bag. The bag has a small barcode on it for warehouse purposes, but otherwise, there are no other instructions or information included in the packaging.
As you can probably tell from the photos, the Spandex Mask with Eyes and Mouth is pretty basic. It’s about as basic as it comes, really. It’s a spandex tube with a hole for the neck, the eyes, and the mouth. The mask is slipped over the head, and there is no special way to tighten or loosen it. It is the size that it is with no particularly difficult instructions.
Construction-wise, the mask is pretty simple there too. The material is doubled-up along the neck for a clean, even seam. The eyes and the mouth holes are also all reinforced with extra material and stitching to help reduce any sort of fraying. There’s a small tag sewn in along the front neckline of the mask on the interior. The tag can get frustratingly itchy at times (especially with a lot of sweating), so we ended up carefully removing it shortly after wearing it.
Aside from that tag, though, the mask is extremely comfortable. The spandex they’ve used is a pretty thin, light layer of material. It’s definitely tight on the skin – but not uncomfortably so. It feels decently breathable, and even in a dungeon space where the heat is usually cranked up, it doesn’t get too intolerably hot. You’ll definitely feel the difference of the chilly breeze on your face when you slip it off, but it won’t feel like you’re baking in your own sweat when you’re wearing it. You will want to give the mask a thorough bath when you make it home to get all the body oil off the mask if you’re wearing it for a long time or in a particularly warm environment.
Do be aware you’ll likely get some fuzzy hat hair after you take this mask off, though. Pack a brush or comb for the dungeon if you plan on switching between the mask and no mask.
And the last point: how well do the eye and lip holes match up? It’s pretty decent. It’ll definitely be an individual fit for every individual person, but with enough tugging, you can make the eye holes and mouth holes fit well enough for functional use. They may not be as beautifully aligned as the marketing photos, but they’ll work well enough to use the mask. Depending on what activities you’re doing, the mask may require regular adjustments to keep things in place. Anything that tends to move the mask will move the eyes and mouth holes along with it.
Made entirely of cleanable spandex, this face mask is pretty darn easy to clean. That’s probably for the best considering how often it’s going to sit on the face – and probably get bodily fluids on it too. This mask is machine washable. Just toss it into a lingerie bag, zip it up, and put it into your washing machine. To help preserve the spandex, I’d allow it to hang dry – though we’ve dried it on low heat a few times in “we need this now!” emergencies, and it hasn’t harmed it yet.
Overall, its simplicity is where this mask excels. Because it’s just so simple and easy, it’s one of those things that can be tossed into a scene without much forethought. Get it dirty? No problems. It’s spandex and can be washed. Is someone new to BDSM or just wants to feel a bit more anonymous? This hood is the simple solution.
