MEO.de Puppy Hydrant Pee Post Review

Perfect for pet play and puppy play, the Puppy Hydrant Pee Post from MEO.de is a small faux fire hydrant meant for your in-home use. This puppy play accessory is 5″ in height with a diameter of 3.15″. Made entirely from rubber and crafted in a realistic bright red, this little hydrant fits pretty well on puppy pads or any other flat surface where you’d like to use it.

Like most MEO.de products, the Puppy Fire Hydrant comes in a small plastic bag. This bag must be torn apart in order to get the hydrant out. The bag has no instructions and no information about the product.

Before anything else, you’ll need to realize the size of this hydrant. It isn’t large. It’s about 5″ in height. This makes it particularly “small” compared to a real fire hydrant. The price reflects that. We, personally, love the smaller size. It makes it easier to clean, easier to hide, and easier to “use”. But it definitely can be pretty surprising when you first receive it and see the actual size. It fits pretty easily on my palm.

As you may have read above, this puppy fire hydrant is made from rubber. This rubber does not have any annoying scent to it. It does, however, have a decent bit of heft to it. It’s a nice, sturdy Puppy Play Fire Hydrant with no scent to it. All-around, I’d say that rubber is a pretty good material for the pee post. I would have rathered a silicone for easy sterilization, but rubber works just as nicely and it keeps the price tag down.

MEO.de has used the rubber to make some cute little details on the surface of the Puppy Hydrant Pee Post as well. The base and the top of the hydrant are dotted with textured triangles. The base of the hydrant has a nice thickness and width to it, and the toy has a pretty noticeable “hydrant” look to it. Each side of the hydrant has little “spouts” that stick out, and the plug says “The (Paw Print) Hydrant” on it. Worst comes to worst, if anyone finds this, you can always claim it’s a dog toy. Nothing explicitly says “sex toy” about it.

The Puppy Hydrant Pee Post’s rubber heft makes it pretty sturdy and stable too. It definitely has some weight behind it. With the large toy base and the weight, it stays in place pretty easily. You can definitely knock it over if you’re being careless, but it doesn’t just tip over with light taps. This makes it easier for “using”. Unless you swipe it with a leg or foot or something, it stays upright pretty nicely.

If you’ll take a second, you’ll see that this puppy play fire hydrant has some holes through the middle of the toy. The top of the hydrant has a pretty small hole while the base has a pretty large hole. I’m not entirely sure why these holes were built into the puppy play accessory. Was it to prevent internal mold from all of the cleaning? Either way, it means that pee will likely get inside the hydrant – and you’ll need to soak the toy (as mentioned below). It doesn’t seem to provide any sort of benefits outside of that.

As you can imagine, if you plan on using this for watersports purposes, you also should make sure the area is somewhere that can get wet. This hydrant has no “liquid storage” abilities. It’ll just drip off the side. The MEO.de site sells absorbent “fetish pads” that they recommend for using with this hydrant. Depending on how neat your puppy is – or how small their bladder is – you can definitely get away with just using the Fetish Pads. They’re a pretty sexy black, and they should provide a pretty large area for urine protection. However, if you’re playing with a puppy that has a large capacity or tends to make a mess, I’d recommend a Liberator Throw or a tarp to make sure you don’t have an unexpected mess.

Cleaning is vital for this post. If you’re going to be using it for its intended use as a pee post, you need to take particularly great care to clean it thoroughly after every use. As this is rubber, it’s pretty sturdy, and you can take whatever cleaning precautions you’d like. Whatever you do, though, you should make sure to clean the inside of this toy as well. Pee will inevitably end up inside the toy, and you don’t want it staying there. We usually use antibacterial soap and warm water with a washcloth with a nice soap bath after we’re done playing with it. We usually let it dry and then wash it again just to make sure the toy is fully clean before putting it away. While you can clean rubber with bleach or rubbing alcohol for an entirely spotless clean, be aware that constant exposure to those materials can begin to break down your puppy play fire hydrant.

Overall, if puppy play is regularly part of your kink repertoire and you want to add some fun watersports enjoyment to it (or just increase the realism for your pup!), then the Puppy Hydrant Pee Post is a fantastic addition. I’ve never seen anything like it, and it definitely adds an adorable aspect to your puppy play bathroom needs. It’s well-made, sturdy, and accomplishes what it needs to accomplish: staying in place for your puppy’s relief and being easy to clean afterwards. Thanks to MEO.de for providing this puppy play accessory for my Puppy Hydrant Pee Post review.
