LELO Enigma Cruise Review

Welcome to my LELO Enigma Cruise review! If you’re like most people, ever since air suction exploded on the sex toy scene about 10 years ago, you’ve been waiting for manufacturers to start to get creative with it.

Of course, the creator of air suction, Womanizer, was the first to pair internal, g-spot vibrations with their clitoral air suction with the release of the Womanizer Duo.

But other manufacturers followed shortly, and the LELO Enigma was one of the first luxury options for people looking to pair internal, g-spot vibrations with the earth-shattering sensations of clitoral, air suction sensations. For awhile, if you enjoyed firm g-spot sensations and had a “standard” anatomical set-up, people recommended you pick up the Womanizer Duo, but if you preferred a flexible g-spot shaft, the recommendation was for the LELO Enigma.

Recently, LELO took their best-selling air suction toy and put it through an upgrade for the LELO Enigma Cruise.

The most notable change is the addition of their Cruise Control technology which always leaves a little bit of the toy’s power in reserve. If the toy ever senses that you’re maxing out the pressure and intensity that you’re using, it gives you that little bit of intensity back to ensure you never experience a “drop in power” – no matter how hard you press it against the body.

Honestly, the “Cruise Control” technology has been seen as a bit of an unnecessary addition in sex toy circles, so I’ve never sought out a Cruise-version of a LELO toy. But when HoneysX offered it up for review, I figured it was time to jump on the bandwagon.

Everything that is included with the LELO Enigma Cruise in a layflat picture shot from above. There is the LELO Enigma Cruise, the charging cable, instructions, a warranty card, and a drawstring storage pouch. For my LELO Enigma Cruise review.

What is the LELO Enigma Cruise?

The LELO Enigma Cruise, essentially, offers two types of stimulation in a single toy. If you’re familiar with the LELO Sona line, this looks a bit like a Sona grew a monster tail – which is kind of a fun thought if you ask me.

The long tail is purely equipped with vibrations. This “tail” is also extremely flexible – unlike other “rabbit vibrator” air suction options. This allows it to bend and wiggle into the unique shape of your body for a more comfortable experience. This helps tremendously with the precise fit necessary on the clitoral end for things to feel pleasurable.

My finger covers a bit of the air suction tip's hole. It's my thumb, and it's noticeably larger than the tip of the toy. About 1/3 of my finger wouldn't fit in it. The air suction tip is built-in and can't be swapped out, so your clitoris would need to fit into this hole for a good fit.

Speaking of, the thicker end of the toy with the tiny “spout” provides air suction sensations to the clitoris. LELO calls them their “Sensonic technology”. This half does not offer vibrations, and it relies solely on the air suction sensation to pleasure the clitoris.

Put this together, and you end up with a rabbit vibrator equipped with air suction sensation. Lube up the “tail”, slide it inside the body, and then position the air suction “spout” around the clitoris. When the toy comes to life, the LELO Enigma Cruise will be targeting the g-spot and the clitoris at the same time – and with completely different, complimentary sensations!

A side view of the LELO Enigma Cruise toy. This showcases the toy's design at rest. It has a protruding air suction tip that works for clitoral stimulation with a g-spot shaft that's flat on the two sides. The plastic, shiny, colorful panel can also be seen in this side view. It is very metallic-looking compared to the flat, matte of the silicone body.

LELO Enigma Cruise Review: How It Feels

The first thing I have to say is that I’m really, really impressed with the shaft thickness. If I’m enjoying dual stimulation on my own, with no biological penises involved, I don’t want something thick. (And that’s very much a personal preference.) However, most rabbit vibrator/dual stimulation toys often have a very large, biologically-sized shaft. This requires me to warm up with smaller toys to even use the rabbit vibrator to start with!

When it’s up to me, I just want something that’s easy to slip inside with targeted sensations exactly where I want them.

And that’s pretty much exactly what the LELO Enigma Cruise provides. The slender g-spot shaft is noticeably smaller than most of your dual-stimulation counterparts. Adding to that, the g-spot shaft is made from the same super-slippery, super-smooth silicone that all LELO toys are made with. This lets the toy slide in seamlessly. Even for someone who isn’t a big fan of penetration, this one just takes a small dollop of water-based lube, and it’s comfortably inside with no initial discomfort.

If I’m going to enjoy penetration, that’s exactly how I want it.

Once inside, the super-flexible g-spot shaft means I can move the clitoral part around until I hit the right spot.

I will say that I don’t get a ton of firm g-spot sensation with the LELO Enigma Cruise, but I’m not sure there’s a way to change that. The LELO Enigma Cruise’s g-spot shaft is flexible. (Remember my earlier praise?) It allows the toy to fit a wide variety of anatomies. At the same time, as soon as I try to put pressure on my g-spot using the toy, it bends under the pressure I’m providing and doesn’t translate that movement to firm pressure on the g-spot.

I press the shaft of the LELO Enigma Cruise against a surface and show how far the flexible arm will flex before meeting resistance. For my LELO Enigma Cruise review.

At the same time, the air suction functionality really isn’t designed for moving. With most air-suction toys, you get it into place and then leave it there and ride the waves to orgasm.

Between those two things, you aren’t really going to get a g-spot “stroking” or “come hither” motion from the g-spot shaft of the Enigma Cruise. It’s designed to slide in place near-ish your g-spot and provide vibrations to the innermost spot while you hold it in place.

Depending on what type of stimulation you like, this can be fantastic. You get dual stimulation, and you get to simultaneously just lay there and have a great time. No movement or effort is required.

For me, with a deeper g-spot that responds well to stroking, this isn’t ideal, but it isn’t really bad either. It feels good!

But I will say that the orgasms I get from the LELO Enigma Cruise are primarily clitoris-based. The g-spot shaft adds additional, good sensations, but it isn’t nearly enough for squirting or those super-intense g-spot orgasms that I seek out with g-spot stimulation. The Enigma Cruise’s g-spot shaft adds lovely fullness and pleasure to my g-spot in a way that I actually enjoy (compared to many rabbit vibrators that I just find aggravating and unnecessary), but it’s a bit like a helping hand to the clitoral sensations – not a pathway to orgasm all on its own.

It’s really interesting, honestly. It feels like LELO had a best-selling clitoral, air suction toy and went “hmmm. How could we add more pleasure to this without detracting from the original design?” And out popped the LELO Enigma Cruise.

Compare this to a toy like the We-Vibe Nova 2 which is designed around the insertable, penetrating, moveable shaft. They redesigned the entire clitoral vibrator in order to make sure that the shaft could be constantly in motion and hitting the g-spot without losing clitoral sensation.

And honestly, I enjoy both designs in their own way, and that’s fascinating to someone who has tried thousands of sex toys. The LELO Enigma Cruise adds bonus stimulation that makes my clitoral orgasm even stronger – and it feels even better than a simple clitoral orgasm. It’s an easy orgasm that almost feels overwhelmingly fast on some of the settings.

Opposite that, you have other rabbit vibes (like the Nova 2) that primarily bring out a g-spot orgasm, and I have to fight to earn that orgasm because the clitoral sensations feel a bit like an afterthought addition attached to make orgasm even possible.

If I’m going for pure clitoral sensations, though, I’ll pick up another air suction toy (like my favorite Womanizer Plus or Lora DiCarlo Baci). The LELO Enigma Cruise’s air suction intensity isn’t as strong as some of my other favorite air suction toys, and the design of the insertable shaft (and inability to control the air suction and vibration separately) make it difficult and aggravating to use the LELO Enigma Cruise as solely an air suction toy.

The charging cable plugged into the LELO Enigma Cruise. The charging port is "open" without a cover, and it plugs in with a socket plug. It is not magnetically rechargeable. For my LELO Enigma Cruise review.

LELO Enigma Cruise Review: The Cruise Functionality

The “standard” LELO Enigma has been around for awhile now. Similarly to what LELO did to their Sona line and Sila line, LELO added an alternative variant to the Enigma line with the “Cruise” functionality. The Cruise functionality is designed to ensure you never run out of power when you need it most.

Effectively, the LELO Enigma Cruise always holds a little bit of power back from you; you can’t access it. When the toy senses that the motor is getting a bit bogged down, it pushes that reserve power forward to ensure you don’t receive a lapse in intensity.

Honestly, though, getting “bogged down” is never an issue I’ve had with any other air suction toy. I definitely experience some deadening of vibrations with wand massagers at various head angles, but I’ve never found myself pressing an air suction toy so hard into my body that the toy became bogged down.

That’s probably why I really can’t find an easy way to activate the Cruise functionality reliability. If I try, really really hard, with my fingers and the toy (nowhere near my vulva), I can manage to squeeze the toy and its air channels snugly enough that the Cruise functionality will activate. But during use? It seems to have a bit of a mind of its own.

And this is somewhat frustrating. If I’m at the point where I really, really, really want more power, I want that power reliably, and I want it to stick around.

The LELO Enigma Cruise does neither of those things.

I can’t figure out what, exactly, activates the Cruise functionality, and I can’t figure out how to get it to stick around. It revs itself up for a few seconds, and then it’s back to where it was pre-Cruise-activation.

When it pops itself on, I’m like “oooh, this might be what I need!”, but then it’s gone as quickly as it came.

I’d almost prefer that it didn’t have the Cruise functionality at all. The current iteration feels more like an intentional tease than a way to provide more power when I need it the most.

My hand holds the LELO Enigma Cruise like it would be placed on the body. This showcases how the control buttons may press into the vulva or tummy for deeper g-spots. For my LELO Enigma Cruise review.

Let’s Talk the Control Panel

I’m a bit confused by the placement of the control panel on the Enigma Cruise. As-in, when I’m using the Enigma Cruise, the buttons are placed relatively flush with my skin. I need to maneuver the toy away from the “sweet spot” I’ve had it in in order to change the intensity.

Doing it by touch alone could have been an option once I got familiar with the control structure of the Enigma Cruise, but unfortunately, all three buttons feel about the same on your fingers. They’re about the same size and are all placed on the center of a smooth, rounded toy.

So unless you’re very, very familiar with the LELO Enigma Cruise, instant intensity changes have been out of the picture for me. There’s usually a 10-to-45 second delay where I inevitably press the wrong button, need to reposition the toy all over again, and then get to settle back into the sensations.

I’m not saying they needed to go quite as obnoxiously as the original Womanizer W100 was with its giant, easy-to-find button, but differing sizes for the buttons – and a control panel that didn’t face towards my body and away from where I was comfortable gripping the toy, would have been ideal for me.

This problem will be exacerbated if you have a larger tummy or are in a position where your tummy is protruding near the vulva (versus laying flat on your back).

LELO Enigma Cruise Review: Luxury Features

It’s true: pretty much every LELO toy in existence is packed full of luxury features. As the sex toy industry, as a whole, has caught onto these “marketable” features, you’ll find them in a lot of toys, but LELO’s Enigma Cruise still makes you feel pampered by the Enigma Cruise from start to finish.

It starts with the packaging. The LELO Enigma Cruise comes in a wide, flat box that’s black with a see-through window and silver foil letters. It looks luxurious – even if some of the box (the plastic window portion) may not be recyclable in your local area.

Packaging for the LELO Enigma Cruise against a white background. There's a reflective see-through window that allows someone to see the toy inside the otherwise all-black box.

It continues as soon as you handle the toy. I’m not sure what it is or how they manage it, but LELO silicone is still some of the softest, silkiest silicone out there. Anytime I bring my giant box of sex toys to a presentation, people pet the LELO toys for an uncomfortably long time. Their silicone just feels like a treat to yourself. I’m always confused why more companies don’t go that way. Not only is it functional (more vibrations make it through to the surface), but it honestly feels luscious.

Partnered with that gorgeous-feeling silicone is that semi-holographic plastic panel. It reflects light beautifully, and it’s extremely eye-catching. The gentle, swirling curves of the vibrator add beautiful visual interest, too, for a toy that feels like a treat when you pull it out.

When you’re done using the toy, the LELO Enigma Cruise is rechargeable. Simply plug in the charger at the base of the vibrator to get it ready for your next use.

The only sticking point you’ll find, from me, about the “luxury” is the cleaning of the LELO Enigma Cruise. Luckily, the shiny, plastic panel faces away from the body, so the seams shouldn’t get too involved in your bodily fluids. However, the control buttons do face the body, and as the button icons are etched into the silicone, this can require getting a brush into those little chasms to fully clean out the toy for a perfect clean. Having to take a toothbrush to my sex toy definitely detracts from my “luxury” experience.

On the bright side, the waterproof design does feel like a nice feature that makes it easier to do that cleaning without worrying about killing my expensive toy. So I get all the time in the world (and all of the water required) to get that thorough clean done.

I hold the handle of the LELO Enigma Cruise in my hand while I let the shaft rest on the table. This shows the toy at rest while simultaneously showing that the vibrator's "air suction handle" side is longer than my hand. It looks smaller in pictures than it is in real life.

So, how does this LELO Enigma Cruise review end?

Summary

If you’re someone who primarily orgasms via clitoral stimulation and enjoys a bit of g-spot vibration, I’m a “heck yes” on the LELO Enigma. It primarily focuses on clitoral stimulation, but the slender, easy-penetration g-spot shaft adds vibrations in a way that help bring out that clitoral orgasm even faster and bigger.

However, if you’re someone who needs lots of firm pressure against the g-spot or wants a lot of movement and penetration from your dual stimulation toy, the Enigma Cruise may not be a good fit for you. It’s fantastic for laying back and letting the toy provide all the work (via vibrations and air suction), but its design doesn’t allow much room for movement without losing all of your clitoral sensations.

The LELO Enigma Cruise primarily feels like an air suction toy with a little bit of bonus stimulation. Think of it as a clitoral stimulator – but with an addition that helps add even more to your clitoral orgasms. This is not going to be the toy for you if you primarily need g-spot stimulation for orgasm, but if you’re someone who depends heavily on that external spot, this is probably the rabbit vibrator built FOR you.

I do, however, wish there was a way to use the clitoral suction functionality separately from the vibrating shaft. There are lots of days where I’m craving clitoral fun but penetrative fun is a “meh” from me. With the current design, those are days where the LELO Enigma Cruise just simply isn’t going to be a toy that works for me.

And if you’re split between the regular LELO Enigma and the LELO Enigma Cruise, go with the regular LELO Enigma. The Cruise only adds frustration for me.
