Kinky Board Games for Friends (when you aren’t swingers)

A stack of adult-theme board games are all stacked up. Some of them are still in the plastic wrap. For my article about kinky board games with friends that don't require sexual interaction.

Do you want to play kinky board games with your friends without having sex with them? Do you like the idea of adult themes without suggestions on how to enjoy foreplay with a group of people you, uh, don’t want to do that with?

The world of sex board games that aren’t for having sex with the players is surprisingly new. As adult board games have exploded in popularity, it’s taken a bit for sex topics ones to catch up. After all, “adults who like to play complicated board games” (i.e. you can only understand the rules when you aren’t drunk) is already a niche group. Once you add in sexual or kinky themes (like managing a strip club!), that niche group gets even smaller.

For the last few decades, only two types of board games were popular: family-friendly ones you could play at dinner and sexual board games you and a lover played in the privacy of your own bedroom.

Today, I want to introduce you to kinky party board games that AREN’T designed for sexual contact with the people you’re playing the board game with.

When you get together with your sex-positive group of friends, you want to play a board game that captures more of your interests. In this case, these sex board games meant for parties will let you touch on adult and sexual topics but without the “swingers sex board game” vibe of what has classically been the staple of the sex industry.

Yep, this is a bit of a niche article. But if you’re a gamer and have a sex-positive or kinky group of friends, this might be one of your favorite Kinky World articles to date. So let’s do it!

So, let’s get straight into these kinky board games:

The Dick Sits

Cards from the Dick Sits board game

“If it fits, I sits.”

Playing off the popular kitty meme, this fit-dicks-in-butts game is a really fun, playful introduction to board games with adult themes. It has tons of cartoon penises (complete with little friendly faces) and lots of opportunities for laughter.

If anyone in the group regularly does anal stretching, this can be particularly fun as the entire game is based around whether your dice rolls let you “stretch” wide enough to successfully sit on the dildo you’re trying to take. (the “Dickficulty”)

It’s definitely explicit (including its in-game mechanic to shit instead of sit), but it’s awkwardly adult without being personal.

Unstable Unicorns with the NSFW Expansion

Unstable Unicorns NSFW packaging

Unstable Unicorns is a PG-13 card-drawing game with pretty basic, easy-to-understand rules. You draw cards that either help you or hurt your opponents while trying to collect the most baby unicorns to win.

The NSFW expansion adds a pretty intense flavor of adult with “Auroerotic Asphyxiation” Unicorn, “Blow Up” Unicorn, “Safe Sex” Unicorn, and more.

If you like the idea of of having a card game you can take to family night and then add in the NSFW Expansion cards for a kinky friends night, this one can fit the bill.

Only downside is that, if you add the NSFW expansion, you don’t encounter the cards too often, so it adds an adult flavor without turning the game fully NSFW. When we’ve played it with non-kinky friends, though, it’s just enough adult without making the game particularly lewd.

Apparently, some nerds really like Unstable Unicorns, and you can view the full database of the NSFW Expansion here to determine if it’s a good fit for your group.

Dicktective

Example cards from the Dicktective game

Do you have some artist friends among you? Do you have, uh, “artist” friends among you who’s only art is drawing dicks on everything? If so, the Dicktective game might be exactly what you’re looking for.

It’s pretty simple. One player puts on a blindfold while all of the other players attempt to doodle a themed dick prompt drawn from the deck. Once the dicks are drawn, the blindfolded player is unblindfolded, and they attempt to match each drawn dick with the player who made it. Every correct guess is worth a point.

That’s it.

If you’ve ever wanted an excuse to draw a dick inside of every known scenario possible, this is pretty much a great time. Card themes include things like “Pirate dick”, “Safari dick”, “Big foot dick”, or “Bachelorette dick”.

Very Kinky Cards

The box for the Very Kinky Cards game with a few example cards laying out in front.

It’s Cards Against Humanity – but with kink themes and suggestions instead of boring household objects or weird parental relationships.

This is probably best played with kinksters who are familiar with the kink community and some of its tropes. Someone who enjoys spanking without the rest of the community will certainly understand a few of the references, but things like “Sir Lord Daddy McDomlypants III” or “Safe, Sane, Consensual, and __” or “22-year old Masters with 14 years of experience” might go over their head.

Bonus: the game was entirely made and produced by a small, two-person business team, so you’re supporting small business with your purchase!

Nightshift Stripclub Game

The board for Nightshift in addition to some of the player cards

Created by a former club dancer for a realistic look into the nuanced world of strip clubs, you play as one of the five strippers looking to make their bag. The board game uses rolls of chance to determine your success alongside to Power Cards items to add strategy to it all.

The game can be played competitively, on 2v2 teams, or co-op, so this one can be a good fit if you’re in a group that prefers cooperative games. I think it’s the only one on this list that is.

I haven’t played this one yet (I Kickstarted it, and it’s on-the-way), but I’m slightly concerned about it being a bit misandristic, so keep that in mind.

To be fair, everything about a strip club, where women pretend to be into you and display their bodies in tiny bikinis in hopes of earning your money, while (almost-always) managed by male managers making money off the entire exchange is pretty misogynistic. But something to keep in mind depending on your group.

Gay Sauna

The box for the Gay Sauna board game

And we’re off to a different sex-focused locale! Instead of kinky board games at a strip club, Gay Sauna has you take the role of a horny sauna-goer, trying to hook-up with as many (and as ideal as possible) people within a Sauna. You are, of course, attempting to compete with your friends for the “best” hook-ups.

The game was clearly designed by a couple that’s used to some of the sauna hook-up culture as you’ll see references to flip-flops, cock rings, douches, and even the best poppers 2025.

XXX from We’re Not Really Strangers

A person holds multiple XXX game cards between their hands.

If you want to talk sex-related topics with your friends without the industry’s standard “foreplay” suggestions, the “XXX” version from We’re Not Really Strangers is a good fit. Unlike the other options on this list, it isn’t a “board game”. It’s a deck of cards full of sex-focused questions designed to get to know everyone else in the game. Not for arousal – but for shared experiences.

Designed for friends (instead of swingers or lovers! Very important distinction here!), you’re looking at cards that ask questions like:

  • All players, name one thing better than sex.
  • Do you think I’ve ever made a sex tape? Explain.
  • What are you attracted to that you know isn’t good for you?
  • What are you most attracted to that isn’t physical?
  • What about your sex life feels hard to admit?
  • Give this card to the player who makes you question your sexuality.
  • Spit or swallow. All players answer.
  • Do you think I’ve ever had a one night stand? Why or why not?
  • Out of the group, who do you think has the most nudes on their phone?
  • What do you crave in bed that you aren’t asking for?
  • What’s your definition of cheating?
  • What instantly makes someone hot?

The game includes 300 cards, split into 3 levels of intensity. Stick with the 1 and 2 levels for “lighter”, less sex-in-your-face versions of questions.

Dirty Minds Card Game

Some of the cards and booklets included in Dirty Minds

Does your group love puns? Does your group especially love describing things as lewdly as possible – even if you’re just talking about baking chocolate chip cookies?

If so, the Dirty Minds card game is probably a good fit. Really simple and easy to play, the game has everyone compete to guess what standard household item a card is describing. Only the card makes those descriptions as lewd and sexual as humanly possible.

So your clues are…

  • After I discharge my load, I’m useless.
  • A’s are small ones.
  • D’s are big ones.

If you didn’t guess “batteries”, you were wrong on that one. ;)

While quite a few of them are hard to guess (even if you’re someone who’s always thinking dirty), the “a ha!” moment as soon as the answer is revealed always makes me feel like an idiot (in a good way).

Dirty Minds, over a decade ago, used to be one of those large kinky board games with a lot more accessories. Nowadays, they’ve streamlined it into about the size and weight of a book with a much-lower pricetag to match. This is going to be one of the lightest games on this list to carry if you’re heading over to someone else’s place.

Kinkopoly

The board for the Kinkopoly board game

Another home-baked board game from a small business, Kinkopoly toes the line between those swingers board games and the kinky board games for friends we’re looking for here.

Reinventing the basic premise of Monopoly, Kinkopoly has you trying to buy and collect the most kink toys (instead of “properties”). To buy those toys (or steal them from a player), you must complete an action.

These actions are mostly silly, but almost all of them involve a level of touching with other people in the group. This might be toeing the line of what you’re comfortable with. This is things like:

  • Put something vaguely baton-shaped in your pants for the rest of the game. Make a pun about your stick every time someone rolls a 1. To steal this, another person might lovingly caress your stick while singing a tune.
  • Sing any song involving electricity while trying to make your hair floof out in all directions for at least a minute. To steal it, someone must sit on the owner’s lap and pretend to get shocked as if they were in an electric chair.
  • Describe to the group your ideal sexytimes outfit, both for yourself and a partner. To steal this, the item owner rides you (or you ride them!) for 30 seconds as you make motorcycle or pony noises.
  • The player to your left grabs your left wrist and the player to the right holds your right. If you can escape both within 30 seconds, you get this item. To steal this item, you must let the owner tie your hands in front of you with creative materials.
  • Choose one player to be your handler or pup and show off your best dog tricks for 90 seconds. To steal this, speak in only growls, wolfs and barks until your next turn.

If you’re trying to keep this as non-lover as possible, I’d especially recommend playing with the “Street Legal Rules” variant which swaps to removal of the Safe Word tokens instead of removal of clothing as one of the game’s punishments.

A stack of adult-theme board games are all stacked up. Some of them are still in the plastic wrap. For my article about kinky board games with friends that don't require sexual interaction.
