The Frisky Frisky 8 Piece Restraint Set is a bondage kit and made by Frisky. The kit includes two wrist cuffs, two ankle cuffs, and four tethers. The cuffs are made from faux fur and a type of leather while the tethers are made from nylon. All of the cuffs feature a D-ring on them for bondage points, and the fasteners are all regular buckles (without a locking feature). At the longest length, the tethers adjust up to 45″.

The packaging for these restraints is subpar at best. It comes in a cardboard box that is oddly shaped. Unfortunately, the glue and box design means that the box is falling apart – constantly. You definitely can not use the box as storage for the kit, but on the bright side, at least the packaging looks pretty cute and it does an okay job of keeping the cuffs and tethers safe until they make it to you. The ankle cuffs and their tethers plus the wrist cuffs and their tethers come packaged in two different plastic baggies inside the box.

Each one of the restraints is pretty simply designed. The inside of the cuffs are made from a type of leather, and you can feel the rivets on the inside of the cuff as well. The outside of each one of the restraints is covered in faux fur with a strip of the leather that works as what holds the cuff together and what holds the buckle. There are multiple rivets on the cuffs to help hold the pieces together. There’s a D-ring on the restraint, but since it’s directly placed underneath the strip of leather, it doesn’t jingle or make any noise (which is good if you need to be discreet!) The tethers are made from nylon, include an adjustable buckle (that allows it to adjust up to 45″ at the longest length), and include a claw closure.

The quality on this bondage restraint kit is okay. The tethers seem about as high-quality as they could be, and I’m sure they’re going to last. The cuffs aren’t too bad, either, but both the faux fur and the leather are pretty scratchy. However, the stitching is pretty well-done, and it doesn’t look like the restraints are going to fall apart anytime soon. We did some pretty moderate play in these, and the restraints held up fine. I’d be careful about doing any sort of very intense play, though, as I’m not sure how the cuffs would take to that.

Using the tethers with the cuffs is really simple, and, actually, I’m impressed with the clip. Many of the tether sets have a clip that is easy to undo for the person is being restrained. Sure, having a clip like that makes it easier on the dominant partner, but at the same time, if the restrained partner can get out easily, it’s not as fun. Frisky solved that problem by having clips that don’t have that little “leverage hook” that most fasteners do. Instead, the hook is completely flat with itself, and the ability to be able to push IN that little piece while still unhooking yourself – all while bound – is a lot, lot less than any other type of fastener. Looking at the picture will better show what I’m trying to explain, but I definitely have to give Frisky some props for using this fastening system as it makes it easy to restrain someone without giving the restrained person the easy ability to escape.

I also like the fact that Frisky had the foresight to make the tethers just large loops. Many tethers just end up being long, straight fabric that you have to tie to things. Frisky made the tethers giant loops. This means you can easily loop the tethers around a bed post or around themselves, and you’ll instantly have a no-hassle bondage point. I very, very much like this idea. Plus, the tethers are adjustable (which is another rarity), so if you want to use it on the couch one day and on the bed the next day, you’re not limited by the length of the tethers. Again, amazing.

The cuffs are surprisingly not all that comfortable. Most wrist cuffs and bondage kit sets that I try that are beginner-level almost always have really comfortable cuffs because they’re made from felt, neoprene, or a softer material. However, with the Frisky 8 Piece Restraint Set, the inside of the restraints are made of this interesting leather. It feels like leather that hasn’t been softened or conditioned which, when partnered with the very-easily-felt rivets on the inside of the restraints, can get uncomfortable and sweaty very quickly. It’s actually kinda weird because the OUTSIDE of these restraints have the faux fur that I’d expect. And if that fur had been on the inside of the cuffs, they would have been comfortable. But instead, the faux fur is on the outside of the cuffs for some reason. So I definitely don’t recommend hanging around in these for long periods of time (or too much struggling) as they can get pretty uncomfortable.

I have to admit with being more impressed with the tethers on this 8 Piece Restraint Set than I am with the restraints themselves. The tethers include a ton of extra features and forethought (claw closure, adjustability, looped) compared to most beginner kits while the restraints themselves seem to have less comfort and features than most beginner restraints (faux fur on the outside with an uncomfortable leather interior). For this reason, I’ll be pretty-much ignoring the restraints and just using the tethers. I’m SURE the tethers will get a ton of use with their design, and they’re some of the best tethers I have. If you end up purchasing the kit, though, and don’t have any other cuffs, though, the cuffs definitely work; they just aren’t as amazing as some of the other cuffs out there.

If you want to clean these cuffs, your best bet is to use a slightly-damp washcloth to wipe down the material. As it’s made from leather and faux fur, it’s not meant for multiple-partner usage since the material is porous, so if you start getting bodily fluids on these, keep them to the one partner. For storage, you can really store these however you like, but if you want the cuffs to look nice and “round”, I’d recommend not storing them in a way that squishes them flat as leather can “remember” how it was stored forlong periods of time.

Overall, this set is okay. The tethers really “shine” with their versatility while I’ll admit to being less-than-impressed with the restraints that come with it. However, as a whole, it does exactly what it advertises to do – which is to allow you to easily participate in bondage by using this kit. I don’t think the restraints quite match up to the quality and expectations I have compared to other beginner bondage kits, but the tethers make up for it, and together, it makes an okay bondage kit.
