The Deluxe Wonder Plug Inflatable Vibrating Butt Plug is a small, rubber and inflatable plug made by Doc Johnson and sold by FunWares Sex Toys. The plug comes with two different remotes – an inflation control and a vibration control. The plug vibrates as well as inflates, and it goes from a base size of one and one-fourth inches in diameter to about two and a half inches in diameter after inflated.
The packaging on this plug is pretty basic. It’s actually nice-looking packaging, and there’s no naked people on it. The toy is displayed on the front showing the traits of the toy and information about Doc Johnson. The box, however, has split open in two (the glue gave way) after I tried to store the toy in this cardboard box, so I’m tossing the box and using other storage instead. It’s okay for gift-giving; it’s not fancy, but it’s not bad either. The toy only comes with the toy itself and has no instructions.
I don’t know about you, but I’m usually a body-safe, no-smell sex toy freak. I really try to hit both of those criteria when purchasing toys and asking for them for review. However, sadly, silicone and other body-safe materials don’t inflate well, so there are no inflatable toys made of those materials. Most inflatable toys are made from latex and rubber which, if I want to use something inflatable, has to be where we go. As far as things go, though, rubber is pretty safe – it just has a smell to it.
The smell does remain – even after washing. It always will smell like rubber, but it does fade after a couple washings, so it won’t be as strong in the future.
Along with the inflatable function, the Deluxe Wonder Plug Inflatable Sex Toy also vibrates. The vibration function is in a completely seperate place from the inflatable function, so there are actually two “remotes” that go with this plug. The vibrating remote is made from plastic and requires two AA batteries to function. It also includes a little turn dial on the side of the remote that allows you to control the strength of the vibrations. Since it is a turn dial, there are no specific settings, but it does get to a moderate strength at the highest strength.
It goes from a weaker vibrational pattern to a stronger vibrational pattern when you turn up the vibration strengths. The back cover of the remote is extremely, extremely easy to remove, so I accidentally removed it multiple times while trying to use the remote, so we did end up having to tape the back, battery cover down to avoid it coming off during use. The inflatable portion of the toy can be used at the same time that the vibrations are going on. It isn’t amazingly strong vibration, but it does have okay strength vibrations, and it’s something that definitely adds to the experience. The vibrations are relatively quiet. Depending on how you’re situated, they can get a bit louder, but for the most part, you couldn’t hear the vibrations through a closed door – especially if the plug was inserted before attempting to use it.
The inflatable portion works well also. It’s neat how well it works since the rubber itself isn’t very loose on the plug, so the rubber just expands when the inflatable pump is used. We can normally get about five or six pumps in before I get afraid of bursting it and release the pressure. It does change the shape completely though. The neat thing is that it doesn’t inflate the base or the retention area (what the sphincter is supposed to hold onto), so it doesn’t really stretch the butt uncomfortably, but instead, begins to provide a more filling sensation like a larger plug was inserted. When not inflated at all, it has a diameter of about an inch and a fourth, and when inflated pretty fully, it has a diameter of about two and a half inches, so this plug really does have a huge variance in size that you can explore!
You don’t have to worry about accidents with this plug. The inflating portion of the plug also includes a safety, air-release valve to easily deflate the plug. If you press the button quickly, it only releases a bit of air, so you can deflate it partly and reinflate it if you enjoy the sensation of feeling the plug get larger. The bulb to inflate the plug is a little hard to squeeze, but it’s not really all that distracting at all.
The cords that attach to the plug can get a bit annoying. You have a lot of leeway when it comes to the vibrational remote, but the inflatable pump only has less than two feet in length. This means that you may not be able to hold this comfortable when playing with this toy by yourself. It’s slightly awkward to have it hanging down, though, so we really haven’t figured out a good alternative to that. The remote has over two feet in length, but the pump does not. It’s a bit awkward, but it can be managed.
To clean this toy, you want to use warm water and antibacterial soap. Be careful not to get water inside the inflation tube as I’m sure it doesn’t work nearly as well when filling with water. The rubber itself can just be cleaned with warm water and anti-bacterial soap. As large as this plug inflates, I don’t think regular-size condoms would protect it, so try out some Extra-Large size condoms on the toy before use just to make sure. Rubber is porous, so it can not be sterilized, so do make sure to protect the toy if you plan on sharing this with multiple partners. For storage, it doesn’t seem to pick up lint, but we do store ours in a plastic baggie to avoid the smell getting out to other toys.
Overall, we like the Deluxe Wonder Inflatable Butt Plug. We do. I’m not fond of the material or the material’s smell, but that’s really the biggest complaint we have. Since you can’t find inflatable toys in the materials I like, this is something I’m willing to overlook in order to play with a toy that can be inflated during use. It is just a regular plug, and it does stay in relatively nicely – especially when it’s inflated. It’s one of the more unique butt toys we have in our collection, and he’s enjoyed using it.
