These Black Latex Gauntlets, also called Rubba-Wear Latex Gloves on the box, are latex gloves that come in a one-size fits most. They are meant to fall near the elbow and cover most of the lower arm. The latex isn’t quite as shiny (out of the box) as the box shows, but after a spritz with the Rubba-Glow that Pipedream Products also sells, it tends to look just as shiny as it does on the outside of the box.
I had originally bought these for Jor, but something we didn’t realize was that the hands of the gloves themselves are pretty small. These gloves were made for a small, feminine hand. Thus, Jor’s hands didn’t fit. However, mine do fit quite well, and they definitely scream “fetish”. We have a BDSM friend who enjoys prepping for his scenes by donning a pair o rubber gloves, and honestly, these gloves really remind me of scenes he does. When wearing them, I honestly feel a little bit more sadistic than when I’m not wearing them. It’s an odd sensation, but I suppose that’s what fetish clothing is supposed to do.
When purchasing this, that’s something you should consider – these gloves were meant to fit a female, and unless you have small, feminine hands, these most likely are not going to fit you. The problem with Jor was more than his fingers were just too long to fit in the gloves – not that his palm was too big. However, as a plus-sized girl, the “arms” of the gloves themselves fit over my lower arms just fine, so that wasn’t a concern.
Something to remember about latex gloves is that they are going to smell like latex. That’s part of the appeal of the gloves. So yes, these gloves do smell a bit like a condom – not horridly, but it’s definitely something you can smell if the gloves come near your nose. It’s not bad at all, but it does smell like latex. Like Latex gloves should, these gloves are also pretty darn skin tight. Don’t expect to be able to just slide these on – it takes a little bit of time since you have to slowly put these on – almost like pantyhose or a frail material – because the latex will stick to your arm and make pulling it up a little bit of a problem. It’s not hard to put it on – it just takes a little bit of time.
The box recommends putting on talc powder before slipping on the gloves, but I honestly didn’t have any problems slipping them on without the talc powder. I only wore it for an hour or two though – if you planned on wearing it long-term, it might help to have talc powder to help absorb the sweat. On that note, when taking them off, the gloves will almost certainly go inside-out. It’s not a big deal, but it does take a little bit of time to re-pluck the fingers back out so the gloves are right-side out again. Having them be inside-out is expected because they are so skintight.
The gloves do seem to be well made. Jor’s not exactly gentle with his clothing, and even when he was trying to get the glove on, it didn’t tear or anything. The gloves seem stitched together really nicely, and they do stretch out pretty nicely without any sort of a fight. Even if you think your arms are going to be a bit big for it, it does stretch out to be able to be comfortably worn.
I have a neat idea for these that I think I’ll try out later, but I figured you guys might want to share in the fun. While we’ve already done a scene with these, I think it’d be pretty sexy to surprise my submissive when he was napping, not paying attention, or sleeping or whatnot (basically when he doesn’t expect it) and to slip the gloved hand over his mouth. The scent of the latex along with some choice “scarey” words would probably make a pretty hot idea and a sexual scene. Obviously, don’t attempt that with someone you aren’t familiar with on a pretty deep BDSM basis.
The gloves do allow some decent movement while in them. While I obviously can’t curl my fingers *quite* as far as I can with the gloves on, I still do have pretty much all of my original movement which is really nice. I’m mostly just really impressed by how it feels on others’ skin. It has a slight drag, and it definitely feels “fetish” like on another person which is what latex is supposed to represent. It allows you to transfer body heat too but yet the hands are still covered. They’re definitely neat and sexy gloves.
Overall, these are a neat set of gloves for a great price. They seem high-quality, but like most latex/rubber products, they can get hurt if you aren’t careful taking them on and off. They smell distinctly of latex and really give me that “bad girl” aspect when wearing them. If this is the quality that all of the Rubba-Wear line takes, I’m sincerely looking forward to trying out some of the other pieces.
