The Leather & Glass Riding Crop is a riding crop made with a glass handle and a leather tip, and it’s sold by Pink Cherry. It’s slightly over 18 inches long in length with a tip of about two inches in width. It’s a flexible leather tip, and the diameter of the handle is about a half inch. This riding crop does not include a hanging strap.
The packaging for this riding crop is pretty basic – it comes in a long, plastic box. The box includes a tray that pulls out to allow you to grab the riding crop easily. The box is pretty large, and it doesn’t fit in any drawers or anything, so unless you plan on using it to protect the crop from dust or other particles, I wouldn’t recommend it for storage.
The design of the Leather & Glass Riding Crop is actually very beautiful. The glass portion of this Leather & Glass Riding Crop is the handle. From the glass handle, the shaft of the crop is made of a flexible material that has a slight bit of bend and movement to it. From there, the tip of this riding crop is made from a leather that is pretty floppy. Into the leather, the “F” of the Fashionistas logo is imprinted right into the leather on both sides. The “F” doesn’t seem to make much of a difference during use, and it doesn’t harm the flexibility of the leather either.
The handle is one of my favorite parts of this glass riding crop. The design on the handle It’s a basic, black glass, but onto that glass, there is a silver design etched onto it. The design is actually of two different fairies whose breasts touch each other where they meet. The designs of both fairies are symmetrical, so the design looks the same no matter which way you look at the handle.
The handle being made of glass does present some unique usage issues with using this glass riding crop though. For one, the riding crop is heavily weighted in the handle as the handle, being made of glass, is much, much heavier than a leather tip. This doesn’t bother usage too much, but if you’re used to something light-weight, this may cause issues. Along with that, glass is very slick. The traditional riding crop has a hanging strap that you could, if you have to, use as a wrist strap. This glass riding crop, despite actually being slippery, has no strap on it. This is actually a huge problem if you tend to get sweaty palms, are in a hot BDSM dungeon (bunches of semi-naked bodies all doing some form of movement gets hot quickly!), or are using this for a long period of time. For that reason, if you plan on using the Fashionista riding crop for long periods of time, I recommend you keep a towel around or be very careful of what you’re doing. Because of this issue, I’d really only recommend this Fashionista crop be used for short periods of time.
Surprisingly, the crop doesn’t hurt as much as it looks like it would (or sounds like it!). Because of the wide tip and the floppiness of the tip, the crop just makes a lot of noise, and it doesn’t feel nearly as painful as it sounds. It does leave a pretty stingy sensation, and if you go all-out, you could definitely leave marks, but for general usage, unless you hit really hard over and over in one spot, you probably won’t leave marks. However, it does make quite a sound (easily heard through a closed door), so the mental aspect of hearing it might be part of the fun for some as well.
The box states that the handle is also suitable for insertion and use as a sex toy. I honestly haven’t tried it in that way as the small size of the insertable portion partnered with the fact that it feels “wrong” to do that with the fairies. It is a small diameter toy as well as a pretty short handle, too, though, so I think most people would find much more pleasure in using a seperate toy for penetration. However, if things got to a desperate state, the packaging does say that it’s suitable for penetration. (Oh my gosh, now I’m hoping this company will make a dildo too with a similar design. It’d be so beautiful!)
As the tip is made from leather, you may want to make this a fluid-bonded kink toy to avoid having to deal with sterilization issues. I’d avoid getting bodily fluid or lubricant on the toy – including the handle – for safety’s sake. For storage, I recommend having it somewhere where it can lay flat. As it doesn’t have a hanging strap like most standard crops, it’ll have to be laid down flat somewhere.
Overall, I do absolutely love the Leather & Glass Riding Crop, but I wish some sort of strap would have been added to it. The hanging strap would have allowed for easier storage and safety handling. As it is, though, the crop is definitely quite beautiful and functional, and it will leave a loud and stingy sensation that fits most people’s ideas of using a riding crop without being too intense. Thanks to Pink Cherry Sex Toys for providing this glass riding crop for my Leather & Glass Riding Crop review.
