UPDATE MARCH 2021: The Xtassie Wild Orchid Vibrator is no longer in production. This sex toy reviews remains as a reference for those who are curious about it.
The Wild Orchid is a rechargeable vibrator made by Xtassie and sold by Discreet Romance. The vibrator is made of both silicone and aluminum, and it’s about eight inches long. With a diameter of a little under an inch and a half, the toy also features multiple speed settings.
The packaging is pretty basic. It comes in a long box that displays the Wild Orchid through the front panel. Inside the box, there’s the vibrator, the charger, and the instrucment manual. The box itself is a plain black box, and the box is much larger than the toy itself. For that reason, you may want to keep the toy outside of the box after you open it.
The Wild Orchid is a really interesting vibrator. Why? It’s because it’s made from both silicone and aluminum. It’s an interesting combination that many toys don’t pursue. The outer ends of the sex toy are made from aluminum while the inner portion is made from silicone. The silicone tends to keep at body temperature while the the two outer aluminum portions tend to stay slightly chilly compared to room temperature. They do warm up quickly to body temperature, though, so be prepared for a pleasurable chill when first using it until it warms up.
This vibrator is rechargeable. There is a charging port right in the center of the toy. The toy’s charger plugs right into this port and allows the Wild Orchid to charge. It takes about two hours to fully charge, and you’ll know it’s done charging when the light changes from red to green. The charging port is not waterproof, so do be careful with the port when cleaning. The charger fits comfortably into the port, and it’s very easy to charge once plugged in.
The vibrations are controlled by a button in the center of the toy. You just have to press down the button (located in the middle of the silicone portion) in order to scroll through all of the vibration settings. There are really neat patterns on this toy; they actually are some of the more unique patterns that I’ve seen on a vibrator. The patterns keep you guessing, and I actually really enjoy using the patterns.
The vibrations are on the moderate end of strength. They aren’t the strongest that will cause earth-shattering orgasms, but they certainly are strong enough to get you slowly to orgasm. Unless you require really strong vibrations, the Xtassie Wild Orchid vibrator should have strong enough vibrations for a tease or orgasm. The vibrations are relatively quiet as well. They can be heard in the same room if there’s no sound, but with the television on, it becomes difficult to hear the vibrations. They can’t be heard outside of a closed door.
The toy itself only vibrates on one side. I was surprised by that. Since it was double-ended, I assumed it would have two motors. Well, of course, I was wrong. The toy just has the one motor on the one side. The opposite aluminum side does vibrate slightly just from being attached to the same toy, but one end is definitely stronger than the other. Along with that, the control panel for the toy is in the center of the toy. This means that, if you want to insert it, you only get about two inches of insertable length before you hit the control button. That isn’t really enough length to comfortably and pleasurably use this toy internally. Instead, it tends to work better as an external vibrator as the vibrations are pretty good and the double-ended aspect makes it easy to hold onto – even when things are slippery. I pretty much only use it as an external vibrator.
The toy’s description mentions that it will focus on the g-spot. I really didn’t find much of that to be true with the Xtassie Wild Orchid. The shape of the toy doesn’t seem like it will do much for my people’s g-spots, and I know it didn’t hit my own. It’s still a good external toy, and it works alright for insertion (especially if you like a little bit of a chilly sensation!), but the lack of a curve does make it especially difficult as a g-spot toy. If your g-spot is pretty shallow, though, the rounded bulbs of the Wild Orchid may be able to hit your g-spot without any problem.
Cleaning the Xtassie Wild Orchid does require a bit of time. There is a slight seperation between the silicone pieces and the aluminum pieces, so you do have to make sure to clean in that crack to avoid any issues in the future. I wish the pieces didn’t have that crack between them. Aside from that, it can be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap like you would a usual toy. Do make sure to avoid getting water near the charging port, though, as this toy is not water resistant nor waterproof. You should use water-based lubricant
Overall, the Xtassie Wild Orchid vibrator is a unique toy that, while not a powerhouse, is moderate in vibration and has a unique design. Easy to use, the toy offers different sensations that can be adjusted to your personal preferences. Plus, the vibration patterns are really unique!
