Liberator Axis Review

Liberator Axis
The shape of the Axis

The Liberator Axis is a couples sex toy and Liberator shape intended to heighten physical pleasure sold by Tabu Toys sex toys. The Liberator Axis is made from strong, furniture-grade foam with an inner, water-resistant layer and an outer, microfiber layer. The Liberator Axis has a length of 20 inches and a width, at the widest point, of 20 inches. Towards the bottom of the Axis, it tapers down to 10 inches in width. At the tallest point, the Liberator Axis is seven inches tall. It doesn’t come with any specific packaging.

I like the fact that this Axis is much more sloping than the Liberator Wedge is. The Wedge ends up coming up to a point really quickly while the Axis has much more of a slope that makes a gentle rising instead of the point-a to point-b type of height that the Liberator Wedge provides. At the tallest point, the Liberator Axis reaches about seven inches which is not quite as tall as the Liberator Wedge either. I do enjoy this shape though because it doesn’t make feel quite as exposed (because of the slope, and because it doesn’t go up as high).

This shape is supportive as well. It’s not nearly as supportive as the Liberator Wedge, but it does do a good job of holding all of my weight. As a plus-sized girl, this is always a concern of mine when we own sex furniture; sometimes the foam isn’t strong enough to hold my weight, and it isn’t very supportive. This Axis, however, does have strong enough foam, and while it doesn’t hold up at the 7 inches, it does hold up at about four or five inches which is enough to still be supportive enough for use. I like the fact that it has a small point as well; the fact that the lower portion of the Axis is also slightly smaller in width. This makes it a lot more comfortable since it seems to comfortably “meld” into my back while I’m laying on it. There’s no sudden “drop” like I have with the Wedge where the Wedge meets the ground. It’s a lot more comfortable.

Showing the difference in height

We mostly enjoy using the Liberator Axis for elevating the hips while I’m lying on my back. This allows me to have a better angle for missionary position. This is how we mostly use it. We’ve also used it with him laying with his hips elevated for anal use with him as well. You also could be over forwards on top of it, but we found that he was a bit too tall to do that comfortably while I felt like it didn’t do much in terms of support for me. One way that Liberator pictures show to use this Axis is by having her lay on the Axis sideways and spreading her legs while he uses the extra height to make penetration into her in this position much easier. It’d be very hard to do without the extra seven inches raising the woman’s body up higher so the penis would angle comfortably into the vagina.

The neat thing about this is that it’s really easy to clean. The top layer is just a microfiber layer, and that microfiber layer can easily be unzipped and thrown into the wash for washing. We thrown ours into the wash every time we use it which keeps it nice and clean. It actually feels softer after you clean it, so you don’t have to worry about destroying it by washing it. In fact, there’s another layer underneath that washable layer as well. This layer (which also unzips if need be) is a water-resistant layer that will trap any bodily fluids or liquids from harming the actual foam of the Axis. This inner layer can easily be wiped down with a damp washcloth. The inner layer can also be washed in the washing machine if need be, but we’ve never had a need for that. It protects the foam really well.

The neat thing about the microfiber material is that it grips onto other microfiber materials. Almost all of the Liberator pieces are made form microfiber. This means that, when using this piece with other Liberator pieces, it’s a no-slip surface. So you can rest this one on top of your Liberator Stage or next to your Ramp, and it will grip on and doesn’t move very easily at all. When you want to stack different shapes, it’s really, really useful.

To clean the Liberator Axis, you just basically unzip the outer covering and toss it into the washing machine. After you do that, you can wipe down the inner, water-resistant layer. There are no worries about using lubricants or bodily fluids on this; it cleans up really well. The only thing I avoid is getting anything on the foam itself since the foam can not really be cleaned. For storage, it’s small enough to fit under a bed or in the back of a closet. It’s about the size of two shoe boxes sitting side by side.

Between the two, I’d still probably pick my Liberator Wedge. I like the Axis, and it’s a pleasurable shape, but it isn’t as supportive as I’d like, and I’m just more attached to my Wedge. However, if the Wedge wasn’t available, I wouldn’t be too distraught over using this Liberator Axis instead. It’s a good substitute for my Wedge, and if you get the Hitachi version, this turns the Axis into a hands-free way to use your wand massagers. The Axis is a lot more comfortable and less “exposing” than the Wedge though; it doesn’t hold your body quite nearly as nice. So if you find that the Wedge is holding you too high or is too uncomfortable, the Liberator Axis is a great choice. Thanks to Tabu Toys sex toys for sending me this Liberator shape for my Liberator Axis review.
