Sweetheart I Rub My Duckie Review

Sweetheart I Rub My Duckie
Packaging for the Valentine's Day duckie

The Sweetheart I Rub My Duckie Junior Waterproof Vibrator is a small little ducky that’s absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day. It’s sold by Good Vibrations Sex Toys. It’s a plastic little duckie. It’s basically the “Paris I Rub My Duckie” product packaged in some Valentine’s Day packaging. The duckie is the travel-sized version of the I Rub My Duckie product. This vibrator is operated by one AAA battery.

The packaging for this duck is probably the biggest selling point. This little duck comes in a plastic, heart-shaped container. The top of the container is tied with pretty red ribbon, and it comes with a stand to stand up your little duckie. I had a fight with it, but after use, I put it back into the container, and now it’s being a little decoration for me for Valentine’s Day. It’s really, really cute packaging if you want to give a gift to your partner for an anniversary or for Valentine’s Day.

The duck is absolutely adorable. It’s a cream-colored duck that includes a little maribou boa. The boa does come off for use, so I highly recommend you take off the maribou boa before attempting to use it. The duckie has pretty blue eyes, and it actually has a little gem sitting on the bridge of its nose that is supposed to be (I think) a nose piercing. The little gem on the bridge of its nose hasn’t fallen off, so I think it’s glued on pretty well. The bottom of the duckie has the on/off switch as well as the place to insert the batteries.

Inserting the batteries is actually a lot more difficult than it should be. You can not use your fingers to open the battery compartment. Instead, you have to use a screwdriver or penny or something to open the compartment. This is probably to make sure the toy stays waterproof, but if the batteries die mid-use, you’re going to be very frustrated as you try to hunt down something to open the battery compartment. Once you hunt something down, you just have to slip in one AAA battery.

The on/off switch is on the bottom of the Duckie as well. The duck only has one speed setting. There’s a little dial on the bottom of the toy that changes the vibrations from “off” to “on”. This dial is actually a big pain in the butt to turn on if the vibrator is already on. The vibrating duck makes it hard to get your nails to grip the dial and turn it off. It’s a bit more frustrating than it really needs to be. The single speed is actually relatively strong though. I’d say it’s on the strong side of moderate. The thing is…how do you use this toy?

I mean, there’s a bunch of places on the duck that you could use, but I always feel bad for the poor duckie. The two places that were intended to be used are the bill of the duck and the tail of the duck. Those two places are where the vibrations are pretty strong. However, those two places are a bit awkward to stick and use comfortably. They are the best areas to use the vibrator, but it still doesn’t keep me from feeling bad that there’s a duckie in my crotch.

The vibrations are LOUD though. This could easily be heard through a closed door. Along with this, because of how small this toy is, your hands will actually get numb from holding this vibrator during use. I can only use this vibrator for a very short time before it becomes too awkward on my hands to use long-term. Along with this, the duckie is actually waterproof, so it can go in the bathtub or shower with you. This is actually amusing because, if you use it in the bathtub, it doesn’t sit up straight like a duck would. Instead, it kinda falls over on its side like it’s given up on floating. However, it does easily work in water, so it’s a good bath toy.

Cleaning the duckie is pretty easy. You just use warm water and antibacterial soap to clean off the duckie. I wouldn’t, honestly, recommend sharing this just because of all of the crevices that the duck has; it’d be hard to sterilize and clean all of them. This duck is compatible with all types of lubricant, but if you’re using this in the water, I recommend silicone lube. For storage, it can be stored wherever you like or in the original packaging.

This toy was more intended as a gag gift than as a working, usable vibrator. If you want to give your partner a cute little vibrator that comes in cute packaging and also works as a vibrator, this one works well. It actually works really well for back-massages if that’s something the two of you do. Along with that, if your partner wants a waterproof vibrator, this little duckie does a great job. However, if you want something that is quiet, is comfortable to hold, or is more of the “average” type of vibrator, this little duck is not a good choice. Thanks to Good Vibrations for sending me this vibrator for my Sweetheart I Rub My Duckie review.
