“Vacation Sex Quiz Book” Review

Vacation Sex Quiz Book
Front cover of the book

The “Vacation Sex Quiz Book” is a book published by Hunter House that is a small activity book of sex-related activities to do with your partner. The book’s activities are written by Marc Dannam and Axterdam. The book includes 64 pages, and in those sixty-four pages are 55 different activities. The activities are split into six different “weeks” which are all just basic themes for the chapters of activities. The book is a softcover book that includes color pages on the inside. The pages are regular paper which makes them easy to write on with whatever writing utensil you use.

The book is all really fun and neat. I’ve tried a couple other “activity” books that were based around sex, and this is easily the most adult and fun. It isn’t intended to be arousing, but the discussion and some of the passages could get you aroused depending on your preferences. It isn’t just a text book either; there are plenty of illustrations in this book that help break up the monotony of text.

The games are all nice and varied. It’s easily the most variation I’ve ever seen in a sex activity book. For example, one of the activities requires you to “number” the steps that a couple could take to get from Missionary to Doggy Style without pulling out. Another requires you to fill in the blank of erotica with slang words then formal words. Other activities require you to do basic math to give some basic sex facts. Another one of the activities requires you to label basic anatomy parts on a drawing. Another activity requires you to spot the differences between two adult pictures. Yet another requires you to answer true/false questions about sexual history.

Of course, this wouldn’t be nearly as fun if there wasn’t an answer key at the back of the book. Along with the answers, the answer key usually will explain the answer (in true/false situations, etc.) so you can improve upon your sex knowledge.

The book is intended for just a couple. The illustration/text in this book are all heterosexual in nature, but this book could easily be used with a homosexual couple with no problem. It could also be used with a group of friends or a triad relationship; the book is pretty flexible with the amount of “players”.

What I really liked about the book was the fact that it wasn’t “basic” nor “advanced”. The first chapter was pretty basic in knowledge using things like the basic anatomy of the body, but by the time we got to the last question, I was having problems answering some of the questions like identifying famous adult art. This made it a fun challenge, but something that wasn’t so ‘below’ my knowledge that it was too easy. The earlier chapters might be a challenge for some people, but honestly, I’d say most people would be okay with the skill level required for this book, and they’d also get some good sexual knowledge out of it as well.

I don’t know what I’d suggest this best for. Honestly, we ended up messing around with this for a week while on Holiday Break. Because all of the activities are split into the six chapters, it makes it really easy to break up and do in small sections. You can easily do one section of the book within a half hour at the maximum. We had each chapter done within fifteen minutes, and that was with writing in the book instead of just answering these out loud. This makes this really fun take along with you on a vacation as something to occupy you in some of your downtime in the hotel room. Plus, it will get the two of you talking more openly about sexual issues.

If you aren’t going on vacation, you can still use it like the boyfriend and I did by using it on a specific week off. If you’d prefer, you could also choose to just pick a specific day of the week and do one of the chapters on that day. You’d still get to have the fun of the activities while getting to also learn the information included in the book.

Overall, this is easily the best and most fun sex activity book I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t contain more than two hours of activities (unless you erase and come back to it at a later date or photocopy the pages), but it does end up being quite a bit of fun for a trip, and it can get you and your partner openly talking (and laughing) about sexual issues without feeling uncomfortable. It’s a neat change from the boring monotony of life.
