Finally! An insertable, music-enabled vibrator! The Club Vibe Hero is a wireless, remote-controlled plug (anal or vaginal) whose entire design revolves around music. While you can control the vibrator like any standard toy, the interesting part is Club Vibe Hero’s music enabled settings – which allow the toy to pulsate to any ambient music. The Club Vibe 3.OH Hero is made from body-safe silicone and ABS plastic with a very beginner-friendly size (for anal activities) as well. It has a width of 1.3″ with an insertable length of 4.2″. Both the remote control and the vibrator itself are rechargeable – though neither of them are waterproof.
As mentioned above, the selling point of the OhMiBod Club Vibe Hero is its music-enabled capabilities. The vibrator comes with three different music-focused settings: Tease Mode, Groove Mode, and Club Mode.
Tease mode uses a specific button on the remote. When you press the button, the remote vibrates. Simple. Press it longer, the vibrations stay on for longer. Unlike a lot of vibrators where this type of hands-on play isn’t possible, this Tease Mode allows for (literal) direct stimulation when holding the remote. Use it to pulse to the music or to enunciate a specific phrase or statement while you’re talking to your partner.
Groove Mode has standard patterns and vibrations. It’s just your usual patterns that most remote-controlled vibrators are equipped with. Click the button on the remote, and you’ll scroll through the patterns and steady-speed vibrations. Simple stuff.
Club Mode is the Ambient Music mode. Using the speaker on the remote (I’m guessing, though I haven’t verified), Club Mode takes all louder noise and directly translates them into vibrations in the vibrating music plug. You can use this in a myriad of ways – it just requires, literally, any noise. You can use this at the club (as advertised), you could use it with loud music at home, or you could even speak into the remote and enjoy as your words literally translate into pleasure. As long as its ambient music of some sort, it’s designed to be used with the Club Mode.
The plug itself has a pretty standard design. It has a thick “tip” that tops out around 1.3″. It has a long, long retention area, and all of the motor parts are located within a decently-thick base. The “tail” of the toy serves as the receiver for the remote control’s commands. This music vibrator can be controlled by the remote – or it has a button on the base of the anal music vibrator that allows for control of the plug itself when you’re not feeling like using some of the advanced capabilities. The toy is entirely rigid with a layer of thin, non-plushy silicone that covers the toy. It does not have any flexibility – not even in the neck of the plug.
One of my favorite things about the OhMiBod Club Vibe 3.OH Hero is that both the vibrator and the remote are fully rechargeable. No batteries – AT ALL – to worry about. Most remote-controlled toys still require a watch battery in the remote, but the OhMiBod Club Vibe Hero does not. Further adding to the awesome, the OhMiBod Hero’s charging cable includes TWO charging danglies. The charging cord splits near the tip, and with the two different charging areas in one cord, you can charge both the remote and the vibrator at the same time. THAT is definitely something I don’t know if I’ve seen before. The two simultaneously, and it takes about an hour and a half to get a full charge. According to the instructions, that should last you about an hour’s worth of play. We have run this plug to death (multiple times!), and I think we actually usually get a bit more than an hour if using it purely for Club Mode (ambient noise) and never touching the remote.
Now that your toy is charged, you get to play with it. When it comes to how the fit of the plug feels, we’ve been impressed. My partner plays with a LOT larger toys – on the regular – but the Club Vibe Hero 3.OH still manages to stay within his body with zero effort on his part. He’s able to walk around, move around, and even have missionary sex with the plug still in – without it sliding out. This is impressive. The design of the plug really stays in the body – and it feels really pleasurable while there.
He says it isn’t quite a prostate-pleasure fit, but he can occasionally feel it touch the area during certain positions. He definitely enjoys the fit, though, and finds it extremely comfortable, easy to insert, and really nice for long-term wear.
Connecting the OhMiBod ClubVibe Hero plug to the remote is simple. It just takes a few seconds, and they pair pretty effortlessly. No complaint and no fuss – even when I don’t pull out the instruction manual to refresh myself on how to do it. We have yet to have any problems with it.
(OhMiBod Club Vibe Tease Mode)
Tease Mode is my absolute FAVORITE for the Club Vibe 3.OH Hero vibrator. I love the Club Mode, but Tease Mode is right up there with it. Tease Mode allows me to press a button (and hold down the button), and the vibrations only vibrate as long as I’m holding down the button. This is pretty much real-time control of the vibrations in the remote-controlled butt plug. Since the remote connection is SO damn reliable, I always know the toy will turn on when I press the button. I don’t even worry about it anymore. Whether he’s wearing clothes indoors (outdoors is a little sketchier) or naked in our house a room over, I know the toy will turn on when I press this button. (And he’ll whine at me) This makes for constant, real-time control over the vibrations in a way that pretty much no other wireless butt plug does.
(The remote’s button does make a small “click” noise which I find a little annoying as it pre-warns my sub when the vibrations will turn on. But you could use it as hot Pavlovian training if you ended up playing with the plug enough.)
The Tease Mode is also amazing for domination purposes too. While it’s fun for just play, it’s really nice as a punishment/reward system too. You could use it similarly to a riding crop or paddle – especially if a submissive partner is pain-averse. Or similar to a shock collar, really. Anytime they do something you dislike (or like, if you want!), you give them a little anal vibration “shock”. Yes, it definitely feels good, so it might work better for a reward system than a punishment one, but I found it to be a speech-free way to let my submissive know he was doing something right/wrong while it was in. It was especially fun to press down on the Tease Mode button while he was pleasing me – anytime I felt like he was in a right spot. It’s definitely some amazing positive encouragement, and I can’t think of any other remote-controlled anal toy that offers this same, real-time control.
(OhMiBod Club Vibe Club Mode)
The music features are the largest selling point of the OhMiBod Hero – and Club Mode is amazing. Club Mode depends on the microphone in the remote control receiving the sound in order to vibrate to the ambient noise. This means you can’t death-grip the remote control in your hand and expect it to vibrate well. It also means you can’t play average-volume music in your home and expect the remote to receive the music from across the room. In club atmospheres, where you’re probably already hurting your hearing from the “can’t talk over it easily” volume of music, the remote will likely pick up the sounds just fine. But for people using it at home who want to not get evicted due to noise violations, you’ll have to get place the remote near the music source. We normally just turn the vibrator onto Club Mode and place the remote about six inches from the music source – and that works well.
(It’s worth noting that the OhMiBod Hero does have a sensitivity adjustment level for the Club Mode ambient noise vibration function, but we haven’t found that the most-sensitive is still functional for home-use with music you can easily talk over without placing the remote near the music source.)
It’s also worth noting that the OhMiBod Hero seems to have a time-out timer built into it. It doesn’t turn the set-up entirely off, but it’ll put the Hero into a “rest mode” if it doesn’t receive any *active* commands for a long period of time. In our case, after my sub wears the plug for about twenty minutes while we’re just jiving with the music and not bothering to input commands, the OhMiBod Hero plug will turn itself into rest mode. You just have to poke the button at the base of the plug (easier said than done while wearing it, but still) to wake it back up.
Let’s talk about how well the vibrations line up with the music as well. It’s pretty good. It’s “off” enough that my music-loving ass is slightly annoyed by it, but it DOES vibrate to the beat pretty well. It just takes the plug a lil bit to transmit the vibration command to the vibrator, so the vibrations end up coming a couple milliseconds after the music commanded it. It’s not a lot, but it’s enough to be noticeable for music. That being said, I’d say it picks up 80% of what I’d expect it to do.
The weirdest thing is that it doesn’t seem to be bass-sensitive. I really had assumed the Club Vibe 3.OH Hero would be designed to pick up bass – since that seems to be the easiest to pick up and the music “constant” of vibrations. Instead, it seems to pick up a treble line. Vocals can do it – as can snares and other sounds. I’d really have expected it to be super-sensitive to bass-heavy songs, but it definitely prefers other songs. You’ll likely end up having to experiment when you get the Club Vibe 3.OH Hero to find songs it loves. We expected to use EDM and dance music, but it seems to vibrate more-often with songs outside of that category. Again, surprising.
My other point about the Club Mode is just the odd design of the remote. If you’re using the Club Mode out in public, the remote needs an easy way to pick up sound for a clear, matches-the-music experience. The Hero 3.OH vibrator doesn’t really offer that at all. There is no keychain for the remote – nor a space to add a keychain. The remote doesn’t easily slip between your fingers to casually “hang out” in your hand. Really, the only way to comfortably and securely hold the Club Vibe 3.OH Remote is through a fist – which pretty much cuts off all of the ambient noise to the butt plug remote control. You can store it in a jeans pocket, but that cuts out some of the music’s vibration capability and adds extra vibration “notes” from the fabric rubbing on the remote. It’s so odd it doesn’t come with at least a little plastic loop area where you could run a hanging strap from it – especially since the vibrator is touted as a public play toy. The remote would definitely be discreet enough hanging off a belt loop in a crowded area. (And honestly, if you broke the remote, there’s a replacement easily available from OhMiBod for $20. That’s easily a risk I’d take for a better public vibrating experience)
(OhMiBod Club Vibe Groove Mode)
Groove Mode is my least-favorite mode – but mostly because it’s so widely available in other vibrating anal plugs already. Since Groove mode just uses standard patterns and standard steady vibrations, it’s the type of sensations you can enjoy from other toys, so it doesn’t stand out with a feature-packed plug like the Club Vibe 3.OH Hero. That being said, the Groove Mode vibrations and patterns work a-okay. They switch easily, respond well, and I have no complaints about them. I just don’t touch them much when there’s other things to be touching.
It’s worth noting that, while other OhMiBod products do have cell phone app compatibility, the OhMiBod Club Vibe 3.OH Hero does not. It only works with the remote control (which you can repurchase separately if you break or lose it). This works out a-okay with me because the remote and toy connection is SO reliable and so dependable. It’s just worth pointing out.
The OhMiBod Club Vibe 3.OH Hero comes packaged in a nice, sturdy cardboard box. Inside the cardboard box, you’ll find the Club Vibe Hero, the Rechargeable Remote, a drawstring storage pouch, the USB Charging Cable, and a nice, full-color instruction booklet for using the set. It’s a really high-quality box (though not discreet), and if you want to store the toy in here long-term, it’ll definitely be protected.
Before you store it in the box, you should make sure it gets a good clean. Luckily, that’s decently easy with the Club Vibe Hero. It isn’t waterproof, however, so you do have to keep that in mind. The charging port is near the front of the toy, and it’s decently easy to avoid getting too much water in that area – especially with the decently-long retention length of the anal toy. A wet washcloth and a mild soap cleans the surface pretty easily.
OhMiBod Club Vibe 3.OH Hero Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m in love with this anal vibrator with remote control. I am SO in love with it. It offers two modes that I’m going to use constantly, and those two modes are so reliable that it actually feels like a perfect extension of my control during sexy times. The remote control, wireless features are so reliable that I’m in love with them, and the vibrations are pretty darn pleasurable too! Thanks to OhMiBod for providing this butt plug music vibrator for my Club Vibe 3.OH Hero review.
