The Crystal Delights Dichroic Glass Butt Plug is, as you guessed it, made of glass. The glass is of the Pyrex sort, and it includes a Swavorski crystal on the end of it. The plug is five inches in length. At its widest point, the plug is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter which is about the same size as most medium-sized plugs. It has about an inch-long stem, and the flange at the end of the plug is about an inch and a half in diameter, so it’s not going to slip inside anytime soon.
The storage that’s included with this is amazing. It’s so discreet, and it’s perfect. It’s a little shell made from hard plastic that zips closed, and inside the case is soft foam that cushions your toy. The case also includes an elastic strap that straps your pulg into the case. On the top side of a case is a zipper pouch that will allow you to keep anything in here that goes with your toys. For example, they provided two unlubricated condoms in there as a surprise gift. You could store quite a few condoms in there if you regularly use condoms for you anal play. VirtuallyAdult also included their Crystal Delights selling card with the product as well. Once the storage case is zipped closed, you honestly can’t tell it apart from some of my handheld video game consoles. It would fit in well and would completely blend in with most household objects. It keeps the glass plug completely safe as well. I’m sure I could drop this on the wood floor and the plug wouldn’t even be slightly injured.
It looks absolutely gorgeous. Mine has a custom-made pink gem at the end of it, but the regularly included gem looks amazing as well. My favorite part is the small little blue pieces of glass that are included in the bulb of the plug itself. It looks absolutely gorgeous, and it honestly looks like a piece of art – not a sex toy.
How does it work? It works very well. There are no seams or anything on the surface of the glass, and the 1 1/2 diameter is pretty easy for most people who’ve had any anal play. As long as its coated in lubricant, it went in great. It was extremely easy after a little bit of warm-up. From there, it actually stayed in. The stem was the perfect length, and we didn’t have any problems with it attempting to come out or starting to be painful. It stayed it, and it looked gorgeous while doing it. If you don’t have much padding on your butt, it might hurt a little to sit down, but most people should have no problem with the comfort level of it while its in.
It feels semi-filling, but not uncomfortably so. He says he knew it was in – especially because of the weight of the glass plug, but it wasn’t uncomfortably filling. He did a lot of wiggling since he knew he had an adorable gem on the end of the toy as well. He seems quite fond of wearing it.
A neat thing about glass toys, and this one as well, is its ability to use with temperature play. Glass retains temperature very nicely, and although you shouldn’t boil it or put it into the freezer, you can put it in the fridge or in some warm water, and it will retain that temperature in case you wanted to put “temperature play” on your list of things to do.
Other butt plugs have about the same size as this Dichroic Glass Plug. This has the same diameter as the njoy Pure Plug Large. The Tristan also has the same diameter as this plug. The Sexy Spades Small plug is the same diameter of this one as well. The small and the medium are (obviously) of a smaller diameter.
A couple concerns are unique to glass sex toys. Any lubricant works perfectly well with glass, but I recommend silicone since it’s the smoothest and lasts the longest. However, if your glass gets a chip on it, do NOT use it. It could scratch up the delicate lining of your anus, and it’s just plain bad. However, this anal plug doesn’t seem like it will be breaking off at any point soon. It’s just an FYI so you know.
How does this compare with the Crystal Delights Mint Green Glass Plug? Pretty nicely. They’re both made in a very hand-crafted fashion with attention paid to detail, but this plug has a smaller diameter and a little smaller stem. I actually find this plug to be easier to insert than the Mint Green Glass Plug. Both have the beautiful gems, but I have to say that I like that special design inside the bulb of this plug ten-times more than the lack of design in the Mint Green Glass Plug. Overall, I tend to lean towards this one a little bit more just because it’s gorgeous and has a smaller diameter.
Overall, go ahead and purchase this if you want to try out a glass butt plug or if you want your glass toys to be handcrafted and beautifully-made. This is a good butt plug for intermediate anal experience, but a beginner could work up to this easily. Although the price tag is a little high, remember that glass plugs are much more durable and long-lasting than other materials.
