I won this glass anal plus from a contest over at True Pleasures. It was a giveaway for St. Patrick’s Day, so the gem was going to be the mint green gem. I was amazed by the protective case it came with, and honestly, I was in love with the plug itself.
The Crystal Delights Mint Green Anal Plug is a glass butt plug with a green Swarovski crystal on the end of it. The glass toy in its entirety is is about five inches long. The bulb of the plug is two inches long while the neck and flange of the toy is three inches long. The widened base (what sticks out) is a half inch thick. At maximum width, the glass bulb has a diameter of an inch and a half. The glass plus weighs about six ounches and is made from Pyrex glass which is the safest glass material for sex toy use. It’s obvious that the toy is not hollow once you pick it up. The glass plug also includes no visible seams, so it’s completely smooth throughout the entire toy.
I actually smiled and giggled when I received this glass anal plug in the mail. The manufacturers had wrapped it in sparkly green tissue paper and placed a virtuallyadult.com sticker on it. I know now that they will match the tissue paper based on the color of the crystal on your toy. Inside the tissue paper (random fact: It’s wrapped exactly how Subway wraps their subs. I used to wrap them.) is the soft case and the butt plug inside.
The anal plug case is seven inches wide and nine inches long. The outside material of the pouch is velvet while the inside appears to be faux leather. (Not 100% sure.) The entire outside of the bag is padded by a consistent layer of padding to keep the plug safe inside. The plug slips into a little “pouch” made by the velvet then the entire thing rolls up into a cylinder shape to fully protect the glass plug. The little loops included at the end of the pouch then wrap around the entire bundle to keep it in its shape for full protection. It does smell quite evidently of leather, but it’s an amazingly good smell. Even after owning this for about a month, it still smells when I take the plug out. I always want to smell it everytime I take the plug out as well – it’s a great scent.
For use, the plug definitely works. The plug is large enough to feel during use, but it isn’t large enough to be uncomfortable or problematic to beginners. If you’ve had at least minimal anal experience, this glass plug shouldn’t be too difficult to take. It may take a little bit of foreplay and warming up to get this in, but it’s definitely possible to do. The weight of the plug definitely makes itself known, but it isn’t uncomfortable in the slightest. The flange can be felt if sitting down, but it isn’t too uncomfortable. Jor said it was slightly uncomfortable, but that’s probably because he barely has any padding on his butt.
The plug goes in pretty smoothly as long as lubrication in included. Glass doesn’t absorb much lubricant, so it stays lubricated for a long time compared to other anal toys. The glass also doesn’t have any give to it, so don’t expect for it to squish nor provide leeway when trying to insert this beautiful glass toy.
The Crystal Delights Mint Green Anal plug stays in once we put it in. It slid out a little bit because of the length of the stem, but it wasn’t really noticable, and it didn’t get anywhere near far enough to fall out. The long stem actually makes it much more comfortable to remove although some users may find it uncomfortable to have a plug so far in. Regular anal toy users probably won’t find any problem with having the toy so far in though.
Another great thing about glass toys is their ability to conduct temperatures. If you like to play with warm or cold toys, glass makes it possible. Dipping it in warm water or putting it very shortly in the refrigerator (or cold water) will allow your glass toy to carry the temperature over to your play. Do not boil nor freeze the toy, however, as glass doesn’t really enjoy that.
With a comparison to popular toys, the Crystal Delights plus is the same diameter as the njoy Pure Plug Large. This plug is only 1/4 inch bigger in diameter than the njoy Pure Plug Medium. It’s 1/2 inch bigger than the Bootie at its widest point. It’s also 1/2 inch bigger in diameter than the Bob Pleasure Object.
Cleaning glass is extremely easy. Since it isn’t porous, you don’t have to worry too much about covering it up. (I do recommend covering it if you want easy clean-up though.) It can be cleaned by some antibacterial soap and warm water, or if you want to sterilize, you can use some isoprophyl alcohol and some water. The base of the plug shouldn’t be inside of the anus, so the small crevices there shouldn’t be of much concern, but you will still want to clean them to keep the crystal and your glass looking beautiful.
Lubricant is an easy choice. Use whatever it is you want. Water-based, silicone-based, or oil-based will all work great with a glass butt plug. From personal experience, I do recommend silicone-based lubricant since it tends to last the longest and stay the slickest.
Safety wise, be careful with your glass plug. While it’s beautiful and the padded pouch will help, the glass toy can chip or break. Be careful with storage, and if it does chip, do NOT use it. It’s dangerous and could easily scratch up and tear the inner lining of your anal cavity. While glass plugs can last for years if cared for properly, don’t use a toy if it is chipped. It’s unsafe.
Overall, I do recommend the Crystal Delights Mint Green Anal Plug if you have at least some anal experience. This toy will require a bit of experience though not a lot. If you are looking for a high-quality plug to help enhance your sexual pleasure, I completely recommend this plug.
