Don’t underestimate this little guy because of its size. Similar in width to a standard bullet vibrator at less than an inch, the We-Vibe Tango shoves a whole lot of power into a very small package. Entirely waterproof and made of body-safe plastic with a flat edge for pinpoint stimulation, this toy is slightly longer in length than a standard bullet – but not by much. This waterproof bullet vibrator is magnetically rechargeable with an included USB cable.
Like a lot of the We-Vibe products and presentation, the packaging for the We-Vibe Tango looks quite clean. The box’s top pulls off to show off the plastic vibe sitting in its own molded tray. All of the accessories are under the tray. The box doesn’t look crass or particularly sexual, but it does make it clear exactly what’s inside the toy, so it may not be a good storage place if you must be extremely discreet. The box is, however, very sturdy, so it stacks particularly well. The We-Vibe Tango comes with a drawstring bag (for storage), the magnetic charging cord and tip, and instructions about how to operate the toy (the same instructions included with the We-Vibe Touch).
While the Tango vibrator looks basic in design, all of that design works with its purpose. The hard plastic shell of the toy transfers vibrations particularly well. The small, slender design fits into small areas like between the vaginal lips or into a strap-on harness to provide pleasure in tight spots. The single-button control structure allows for the vibrator to be so small – and for the We-Vibe Tango to be easy to control. The We-Vibe Tango fits fine into the base of my Tantus dildos, my Spareparts harnesses, and my Fuze dildos. So, again, it’s about the “standard” width of most bullet vibrators – though it is a bit longer in length. While the We-Vibe Tango looks particularly understated, it’s pretty well-known in the sex review blogger sphere for being one of the most-powerful and easy-to-use bullet vibrators out there.
The Tango is an entirely rechargeable vibrator experience. Judging by how popular other We-Vibe magnetic charging toys have been, it seems that We-Vibe has chosen to stick with the magnetic charging design. Just press the magnetic charging port up against the base of the Tango, and the toy will charge. As you can see in the photos, the magnetic strength is well, surprisingly strong. I can dangle the vibrator just by holding the charging cable, and it holds on strong – even while swinging the cable. This isn’t going to be one of those toys that disconnects itself with a breeze over your bedside table. A full charge takes about an hour and a half, and the light on the vibrator turns off when it’s done charging. Easy peasy. I haven’t managed to kill the battery in a single sitting, but We-Vibe says it’ll go for 2 hours on the full charge. (Though the vibrator in front of me with a blinking yellow/orange light that tells me the battery is low.)
Controlling your new bullet vibrator isn’t very difficult either. That’s because the Tango just uses a simple single button on the base to control the entire toy. That’s it. Press the button, and the vibrator turns on. A single button press will cycle through the power intensities. Hold down the control button, and the vibrator turns off. That’s it. Very, very simple, but it’s also very very easy to use. The button presses down easily with a satisfying “click”, but I’ve never had a problem getting it pressed or having it accidentally get pressed. You definitely have to intentionally go for the button – even when used in a strap-on harness, the setting has never gotten changed on me.
When it comes to the vibrations, though, you probably won’t find any stronger, deeper vibrations in any bullet vibrator anywhere. It’s clear how the We-Vibe Tango earned its reputation. The vibrations aren’t buzzy. They aren’t surface-like. They’re strong and pulsating. As long as you don’t require a wand massager or other types of intense vibrations, this should be more-than-enough for orgasm. It’s stronger and more rumbly than alot of the 7 or 8″ vibrations that I’ve touched. It’s impressive.
Now, be aware that, if holding this in a hand, your fingers will probably go numb after awhile. However, the opposing side doesn’t provide the same “numbing” sensation. If I hold the toy against my palm with the other hand, the “usable” end doesn’t numb my palm. The fingers, however, holding the toy, will get a bit numb. I imagine it’s because the toy noticeably shakes and vibrates at the “usable” end while the end where I’m holding, near the button, is held stationary by the hand. This is part of what makes the vibrations so darn rumbly and powerful, though, so it’s a perfect trade-off.
For me, the We-Vibe Tango has been perfect for use in my strap-on harnesses. It negates having to hold the vibrator, and even when the toy is turned off, it provides a nice, hard surface that can fit perfectly between the body and the dildo (depending on the pocket placement on the harness). Of course, its small size also lends itself well to traveling, people who require a lot of discretion, use in dildo vibrator-holes, or just those who don’t really need or want a giant vibrator in order to orgasm.
The only thing that could make strap-on use better was if it had a way to wirelessly operate the toy. Reaching into the harness to press the control button can be frustrating when it needs to be done. But it’s totally worth.
As the Tango is entirely waterproof, clean-up is actually pretty simple. There’s no texture to the Tango, so it’s really just a matter of wiping the surface of the toy clean. You can do this however you please – including a washcloth with anti-bacterial soap, giving it a soap bath, or anything else. Plastic is pretty resilient, and partnered with a waterproof surface, it’s really easy to take care of. If you choose to use any lubricant with the toy, it’s compatible with anything you can throw at it. For storage, it doesn’t really have any specific requirements, but I’d recommend storing it somewhere with the charger. The drawstring bag will store all of it.
Overall, the We-Vibe Tango is a fantastic toy – including all of the changes the company has made with the recent versions to the charger. While small and unassuming, every aspect of its design has clearly been crafted to provide very strong and easy-to-use vibrations in a very slender package. Worthy of its reputation, this is probably one of the strongest bullet vibrators out there – and it’s well-crafted and bound to last you a long, long time. This one isn’t going into storage at my place – it’s going straight into my strap-on harness stuff for continual use.
