UPDATE: NOVEMBER 2020: The Funfactory ShareXL is no longer in production – probably just because it was really heavy and a lot larger in thickness that most people wanted. You can, however, still enjoy the regular FunFactory Share which is still in production.
The Share XL is a strapless strap-on made entirely of silicone and manufactured by FunFactory. With its thirteen-inch length and a diameter of over an inch and a half for both ends, the Share XL is not a dildo for beginners. It comes in a cute pink color as well as a black color, and it weighs about a pound and a half. It’s waterproof as it has no vibrating functions, and it’s made of 100% pure silicone as all FunFactory toys are.
The packaging for the Share XL is pretty standard FunFactory packaging. The packaging is a red and grey type of packaging, and there’s a window on the front of the packaging that allows you to see the strapless dildo sitting in a tray inside the packaging. The tray pulls out to let you grab the dildo. You can use the packaging for storage, but it is bigger than the dildo itself. The packaging also comes with a FunFactory promotional item guide, the instructions for the ShareXL, and a sample of some water-based lubricant.
The Share XL is the largest of the strapless strap-on dildos in the FunFactory strap-on line. All of the Share dildos share a similar size on the portion that goes inside the woman, but the shaft portion that goes into the recipient is what defers. On the Share XS, the insertable portion is about the size and length of a finger. On the Share, the dildo is pretty average-sized. As for the Share XL, the Share XL is basically the exact same size of the Share – except a big larger AND with an addition of the intense ridged texture that you see on the surface of this dildo.
I love the look of this dildo, and I love how it feels when used as a regular dildo. Due to the large size and the intense ridges, I really wouldn’t recommend this for most people wanting a pegging dildo unless the recipient is definitely coursed in anal sex and uses textured and larger toys regularly. The ridges are definitely intense, and they feel very intense going in and out, and the large size is a lot more than one most anal beginners and intermediate users could handle.
The Share XL definitely does have a large insertable portion for the wearer too. It’s over an inch and a half in width. Make sure that you properly lubricate the toy as well as are warmed up yourself in order to make it the most comfortable when inserted. It seems like it would stay inserted really well, though, if it didn’t have the weight of the shaft pulling down on it, so it’s a pretty well designed aspect.
The biggest problem really lies in the fact that the Share XL is pretty near-impossible for the average person to use as a strap-less strap-on dildo. It’s a hefty, giant piece of silicone, and all of the heft is in the shaft! Some of the weight is in the insertable portion that the woman wears, but the majority is in the shaft. This means, as you can guess, that gravity takes a pretty huge toll on this strapless strap-on. The gravity pulls down pretty heavily on the shaft which gives it a very droopy appearance. If that wasn’t all, unless you have very strong vaginal muscles or regularly stand with your thighs together to keep it from slipping out, the dildo will definitely slip out pretty easily. The weight of the dildo coupled with the fact that the dildo droops pulls it out without much issue unless you’re particularly watching it.
That’s why I recommend that you definitely use a harness with this strapless strap-on dildo. It seems like it might defeat the point, but you can still feel the dildo on the giver-end when using it in a harness, so it’s still getting across the point that it’s supposed to. The harness reduces the droop of the dildo and reduces the amount that it slips out.
As a note, the strapless strap-on dildo has a specific design that is supposed to help provide clitoral stimulation during use for the person strapping it on. As you see in the photos, it has that extreme “U” shape for the wearer. When the dildo is drooping, you don’t really get that U-shaped stimulation, so again, that’s another reason to throw this one with a strap-on harness.
To clean this silicone dildo, as it’s pure silicone, you can easily use warm water and antibacterial soap. For more hardcore cleaning, it can easily take a boil in some hot water for sterilization as long as you can find a pot big enough to accommodate its large size. Because this dildo is made of silicone, it’s only compatible with water-based lubricant, and it should be able to take a condom if you want to share it with another person.
Overall, if you know you can handle the size of the Share XL dildo both as the giver and as the receiver and know you have the strap-on harness or the inner muscles to hold onto the dildo, the Share XL is a quality toy that allows you to experience a large strap-on, strapless dildo. It may not be for everyone, but for those that want something huge, it’s definitely a quality toy. Just be aware that, due to its almost 2-pound weight, it will probably need to go with a harness like the Spareparts Joque.
