The Joyful Pleasure Hot Pepper glass dildo is a glass dildo shaped like a Hot Pepper that’s sold by TabuToys sex toys. It’s about eight inches in length with a diameter of about an inch and a half at the widest point. Not including the handle/stem, you get about six inches of insertable length with a slight g-spot tip curve towards the end of the shaft.
The Joyful Pleasure Hot Pepper packaging is pretty basic. It’s a white box that shows the details of the toy’s design as well as the toy’s features on the outside of the packaging. There is a see-through window on the front that allows you to see the toy itself. Inside, the glass toy sits in a plastic tray that pulls out to show off the toy. The Hot Pepper glass dildo does not include a storage bag.
This Hot Pepper glass dildo certainly has a unique design. After all, it’s shaped like a hot pepper! The shaft of this hot pepper is completely smooth with the tip (near the stem) being really the only “texture” of this dildo. The tip itself is small enough to fit between two fingers while the little leaf-y portions near the stem do provide a bit of leverage for handling the dildo. At the very tip of the dildo, there is a slight g-spot curve that does make it look more accurately like a hot pepper.
As glass, the Hot Pepper glass dildo has this amazing property to insert very easily. Even if you don’t use a ton of lubricant (or, possibly, any lubricant at all depending on how turned on you are), the Hot Pepper glass dildo still inserts really easily which is one of my favorite aspects. If you like temperature play, you can easily warm or cool the surface of the glass dildo in some warm or cool water in order to get the glass surface to absorb the temperature for temperature play.
The Hot Pepper glass dildo has this really annoying habit of twisting internally during use. Since the tip of the Hot Pepper dildo appears to be made for g-spot stimulation, whenever it twists, it gets away from g-spot stimulation. As the base of the dildo (with the stem), looks pretty much the same from all angles, it’s pretty impossible to “angle” yourself back into place without this weird process of “is this it? Nope. This? Nope”. I get frustrated relatively quickly with the fact that this glass dildo tends to turn around and twist internally.
The handle also presents another problem, though it’s not really a horrible problem. It just takes some learning to get used to it. The stem of the dildo does an okay job when rested between two fingers while the other fingers can use the leaf-y portions near the stem to get some leverage on the glass toy. It’s not the most effective method, and the dildo will tend to slide out of your fingers when lubricated at the tip (which happens when it’s a glass dildo). Just keep something nearby to wipe off the handle if its getting slick.
The shape of the dildo, to me, personally, feels like it would feel best for some nice, deep, quick thrusting (as long as you beware of how hard you hit the tip). However, due to the lack of a real “handle” on the dildo (instead you have just the Pepper stem), this is surprisingly difficult to do. Glass dildos get pretty slippery with lubrication relatively easily, so once your stem gets slippery, you really have no leverage for intense thrusting. This really does get in the way of enjoying this glass dildo.
To clean this glass dildo, you can use warm water and anti-bacterial soap to get the bacteria off. I’m not sure if the Joyful Pleasures dildos are made from Pyrex glass though – their website warns NEVER to boil or freeze the dildo, so it’s quite possible it’s not the strong, Pyrex glass. If it’s not, just avoid putting it in the freezer or boiling for sterilization, and you should be fine. It can be sterilized with a bleach solution instead.It’s compatible with all types of lubricants, and if you want to make sure that it stays nice, I recommend purchasing a padded storage pouch to pad the dildo from wear and tear.
Overall, the Joyful Pleasure Hot Pepper dildo provides an okay sensation, but as you could imagine, the biggest point for this dildo is that it’s shaped like a hot pepper. If you have a fantasy about doing things with hot pepper sex toys (don’t giggle – it totally exists) or just like the cute idea of it, it can work as a dildo, but the hot pepper design does make it a less effective dildo than if it was just shaped like a regular dildo.
