UPDATE: APRIL 2020: The Jimmyjane Little Chroma is no longer in production. This review remains for those who wish to delve into the history of sex toys of old.

The Little Chroma is a small, chrome vibrator that takes one AA battery. It is available in purple, black, and red, and it has luxury versions in gold, platinum, and steel. It includes a removable, replacable motor, and it features one, single speed. It’s about five inches long with a diameter of about a half-an-inch, so it looks a bit like an elongated bullet vibrator.

The packaging is pretty cute. Like all Jimmyjane packaging, it comes in a small white box that shows the vibrator as well as the vibrator’s features on the outside of the packaging. The packaging includes a cardboard tray for the vibrator itself, and it includes an instruction manual that talks about the different aspects of the Little Chroma vibrator. All that’s left to do is insert the AA battery into your sex toy.

To be honest, I had relatively low expectations for the Little Chroma going into this. After all, I’ve heard that it only has one speed, and that’s certainly not something that I normally would expect from a luxury vibrator. So in that aspect, I knew what I was getting into, and I went in prepared for that single speed.

And if the single speed had been very strong, I probably would have been okay with that. However, every time I tried to use it, I found myself wanting a LOT more from the vibrator. The vibrations are on the higher end of soft, but they’re definitely still soft and about comparable to a bullet vibrator. A bullet vibrator would be more buzzy (while the Little Chroma does a pretty good job of providing deep vibrations), but the vibrations are just not nearly strong enough to function as a fantastic vibrator. It teases alright, but it just doesn’t do a great job of getting to orgasm – at all.

On the brighter side, though, the Little Chroma is extremely quiet. It is rattle-y and loud when you’re in the process of screwing on the cap, but once it is screwed on all the way, the Little Chroma is virtually silent, and it’s very hard to hear in the same room. With any sort of noise (music, television) on in the same room, it will be very hard to detect the sound of the Little Chroma.

I really wasn’t impressed how you access that single speed, though. There is no on/off switch. Instead, there is a little dial (the base) of the vibrator. This is the battery compartment. Once you insert the battery, you twist on the battery compartment’s base, and you keep twisting until it turns on. There’s a middle ground where the cap doesn’t fall off yet the vibrator is off, but I wasn’t fond of how it accessed its single speed. It reminds me too much of a pocket rocket vibrator, and as this is a luxury vibrator, I really don’t like being reminded of cheaper vibrators when I use it.

I will admit, though, that I’m impressed by the design of how everything goes together. There’s the Little Chroma casing itself. Inside this casing, if you shake everything out, you’ll get the motor itself (it slides out!) as well as the battery. This means that, once the vibrator stops working, you can replace the motor and continue to use your sex toy. As a motor only costs (currently) $20, it’s much cheaper to replace the motor than repurchase the whole toy – especially if you have one of the luxury versions that goes for more than $500. It does make me wonder, though, as it really doesn’t seem probably that the metal shell actually cost too much to make, where the “pricing” of the Jimmyjane Little Chroma does come from.

During use, the vibrations just really weren’t enough. With the single setting, I kept finding myself wanting something more. The vibrator is extremely comfortable to hold and extremely easy to hold during use, but it just doesn’t have enough power to make it amazing. I love how quiet it is, though, and the fact that it has a sexy and sleek design. However, with the fact that it really doesn’t work as a fantastic vibrator because of the one-speed, moderate vibrations, I can’t be too impressed with it.

To clean this vibrator, you’ll want to use warm water and antibacterial soap. As the vibrator is waterproof, it’s extremely simple to clean since you don’t have to worry about water getting inside the vibrator as long as the compartment is closed all of the way. You can use this with all types of lubricant, and for storage, as it’s a hard metal, it can be stored whereever you have the free space.

If you’re looking for a longer version of a bullet, love Jimmyjane products, and want something that will, quite honestly, last a lifetime (because you can replace the motor), the Little Chroma will work perfectly for you. However, if you want something that just gets you off, and bullet vibrators usually don’t do that, the Jimmyjane Little Chroma will probably not be your cup of tea.
