Vamp Talula Dildo Review

Vamp Talula Dildo
Vamp Talula Dildo showing how it would look in a harness

UPDATE AUGUST 2021: I’m pretty sad to see that this seems to be discontinued. The company had some customer service issues for awhile, but it seems like it’s impossible to get ahold of any Vamp dildos anymore. This review remains as a reference for anyone interested in this silicone dildo. While you’re here, check out my BDSM advice, BDSM Scene Outlines, femdom podcast, and femdom advice.

The Vamp Talula is a strap-on dildo sold by SheVibe Sex Toys. It comes in a small, medium, and large size, and the intense angle of the dildo is intended for g-spot and p-spot pleasure while in a harness. The Vamp Talula is created by Vamp, and it’s made with 100% silicone. For this review, I have the black Vamp Talula in the Medium, Softskin size. It is 6 inches long and 1 1/2 inches in diameter with a black, marbled pattern that is varied by each individual dildo. The Vamp Talula comes with a harness-compatible base for harness-use, and it happens to be a dildo with balls too.

The packaging for the Vamp Talula is a nice, round, tall case. This case includes a pop-off top (which is extremely hard to get off the first time. I flung it across the living room trying and was inches away from hurting our TV), and I haven’t put the lid fully back on since. The plastic tube does a really good job of protecting the dildo for storage or shipping, and it’s not much larger than the dildo itself. It does say the brand in large letters on the packaging, but as long as that doesn’t bother you, this can easily work for storage for the dildo.

The design of the Vamp Talula is pretty basic, but it does its job well. It sticks up at a very intense angle from the base (about 45 degrees versus the straight-up design most dildos have), and the Softskin silicone is soft enough to feel squishy but not so soft that it doesn’t hold its shape. The shaft is completely smooth, and the dildo includes testicles, but the testicles are smooth and free of texture as well. The dildo also includes a realistic head as well, and as far as sizing goes, it’s about the right shape/size to mimic a realistic male penis (though it is a tad bit on the short side and it also would have to be a very young male – college aged – as the angle is very intense).

One thing that’s worth mentioning is that Vamp doesn’t seem to quite have the bases completely perfected. The edges of the silicone around the base look jagged instead of smooth. Since it’s silicone, it certainly doesn’t hurt or effect the use of the toy, but the edges are jagged which may possibly annoy you. It doesn’t harm or effect using the silicone dildo though.

As a personal preference, it does annoy me that the Vamp Talula can not stand up on its own. If you attempt to sit it on its base, it will flop over. As the Talula’s material is pretty lint/hair-loving, having it fall over when I attempt to set it down does frustrate me a bit. It also can stand up lovingly and look nice on my nightstand either which saddens me. However, it doesn’t actually effect the use of the Vamp Talula, so I can’t complain too much about it.

I’m in LOVE with the Talula for harness use! Many strap-on dildos tend to get relatively droopy when placed into a harness, and it can be difficult to get the “best” angle for penetration with those dildos. Some are better than others, but none of them really “compare” to the Talula. The Talula has a really nice, upright angle that looks like a younger guy’s penis and really stands up straight like it should. The material is soft enough to be pleasurable during intercourse (and if you’re comfortable with a bulge, it’s soft enough to be bent into panties for packing), but it’s still firm enough to go relatively easily into the butt without too much of a fight.

The base of the Vamp Talula Dildo

My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. The length of the Vamp Talula is about six inches while being an inch and a half in length. This is a relatively standard size of dildo, but I still find myself wishing it was longer. I think it’s mostly because I was hoping for a dildo that would have the “length” required to look really comfortable and normal on a plus-sized body. The length of the Vamp Talula on the dildo I have does make it a bit short for that – especially when the angle seems to “reduce” some of the length and when I place it into a harness which takes some of the length too.

The Vamp Talula really seems to shine the best for partner use – and in particular, harness use. For solo use, it doesn’t seem to be the best, and that seems to be because of the angle of the base plus the angle of the shaft. Putting the two together makes it relatively awkward and unfamiliar to hold the dildo for self-thrusting. I can hold it, but it requires slipping a finger around the top of the dildo’s testicles right at the base of the shaft, and (I actually measured for the sake of science!) that leaves only four insertable inches when I have to hold it that way. When held that way (which is the most comfortable way I’ve found to hold it), it also didn’t allow for any quick or hard thrusting as it was a relatively awkward angle for my hand.

To clean this silicone dildo, you’ll want to use warm water and non-abrasive, anti-bacterial soap. The dildo, as it’s silicone, can be sterilized by boiling it in water as well. As it’s silicone, it’s only compatible with water-based lubricant. Do remember to keep this dildo away from sharp edges or any sort of fur or lint. The silicone of the Vamp Talula is pretty hair-loving, so it tends to pick up any hair or lint that it comes into contact with.

Overall, I LOVE the Vamp Talula Softskin Swirl Silicone Dildo for strap-on use, and that is exactly where it has excelled for me. The dildo’s angle feels sexy, and the dildo looks sexy as well. It feels nice, and it works for anal thrusting too. I wish it had a bit more length to it, but for strap-on harness use, I honestly can’t think of a single dildo I own that performs better than this one. I’m impressed. Thanks to SheVibes sex toys for providing this strap-on dildo for my Vamp Talula Softskin Swirl Silicone Dildo review.
