Dungeon Delights is an small business that specializes in metal and steel BDMS toys such as cages, bondage furniture, collars, shackles, and others. Each one of their pieces can be made-to-order, and they have been making steel toys for about five years now. Plus, they’re very, very friendly!
To review their collars, I received two different collars: the Big Bastard 2 Inch Wide Collar with 2 Rings and the Serious 1 1/2 Wide Bondage Collar. Both collars are made from heavy steel, and both collars require a small lock to keep them fastened shut. Both collars also include an o-ring (or more than one!) to act as bondage points during your fun.
Something that the submissive was really surprised by was how cold steel actually can feel. You’ll want to keep that in mind when playing with the metal bondage toys; steel can definitely be chilly – even at room temperature. Either expect this when fastening this onto your sub or be prepared to “warm” the collar by hands/between the legs/etc.
One of my favorite things about Dungeon Delights is the fact that they customize the collar fit right to YOUR body! You take the customized measurement of your neck, and the collar will be designed to perfectly fit your own neck. Our fit perfectly with a slight bit of wiggle room to avoid pinching the skin but tight enough that it could be felt and not wiggled out of. I personally can’t fit his metal collar, but it fits absolutely perfectly on him, and he loves that since it has the feeling of bondage.
One of the best things about steel restraints is the fact that they have no “give” to them. Leather can be bendable, and depending, it can even get comfortable! Psshaw! Who wants their bondage to get “comfortable”? If you are one of those people that wants to take your bondage to a higher level, metal restraints and metal collars make it near impossible to escape, and because they have the weight and presence that really reminds you that you’re wearing a collar. These steel collars aren’t uncomfortable, but they do keep you remembering that you’re wearing them.
You do want to keep in mind that metal restraints and metal collars were really not intended for beginners. Metal has absolutely no give to it, and as the collar must be locked on to wear it, that automatically means that there is an issue of trust involved. With those two things involved, metal and steel collars are not intended for those who are just beginning their relationship or those who are not familiar with bondage and safety. Try something made of a softer material or of leather if you aren’t okay with the “finality” of steel.
The collars are not the most comfortable things in the world, and they really weren’t meant to be. They do not scratch you, and they do not pinch at all. They do, however, have some heft to them, and depending on which one you have, they are relatively wide and jingly. This means that you will definitely be aware that you’re wearing this collar the entire time you’re wearing it which is exactly the effect we wanted.
Both of the steel collars are fastened by a small lock you’ll need to provide. Both sides of the collar will come together to allow you to slide a lock through a hole that the collars will come together at. This way, the collar is locked on and it’s fastened as well! You could use string or something else if need be, but the locks themselves tend to work best and are reusable – just don’t lose the key. The holes line up perfectly, and we haven’t had any issues with the holes.
The collars definitely add a new dimension to bondage play, and the boyfriend says that there is nothing quite as “reminding” as having a strong and unforgiving collar around his neck. Leather is comfortable enough for him to play video games in and forget about it, but he says that there’s no way he can “forget” about wearing a collar this intense and this thick. He really states that it really enforces his “position” when he’s wearing it, but he also is very quick to say that it isn’t painful in the slightest. The edges were sanded down really nicely, so they aren’t scratchy and they don’t hurt at all. The edges are completely smooth.
To clean your shackles, you can use warm water and anti-bacterial soap for regular cleaning. If you want to get more intense with your cleaning, you can use bleach to sterilize the metal. You can share this with multiple partners, and if it get dirty, you can sterilize it. For storage, you’ll want to store it somewhere on lower shelves because the metal can get pretty heavy.
Overall, these metal collars from Dungeon Delights give you hardcore bondage at an affordable price – and they hold up well! They are customizable to your exact measurements, come in multiple varieties and widths, and the craftsmanship is absolutely fantastic.
