Showing the Form 4 Vibrator

UPDATE APRIL 2020: The Jimmyjane Form 4 is no longer in production. This Jimmyjane vibrator review remains as a reference for anyone who’s interested.

The Form 4 is a luxury vibrator made by Jimmyjane. It is about five inches long, and it has a diameter of about an inch to two inches (depending on where on the shaft you measure). It’s made from silicone, and it’s rechargeable via the charging base. It’s waterproof, and it includes travel lock for travel purposes.

The packaging is beautiful – like Jimmyjane’s packaging usually is. The Form 4 comes in a plastic storage tray, and it also comes with the charging base and a large instruction manual. The box looks very suitable for gift-giving, but as it does display the toy all over the box, it probably is not best for storage for those who need to be discreet. I’m also a bit disappointed that it’s so darned huge too. I have a feeling this is because this is their “standard” size and the Jimmyjane Form 6 is a large toy, but this box is about 6 times larger than it needs to be for the small Form 4 and its charger and instruction book.

I became, initially, interested in the Form 4 vibrator while presenting at the BlogHer11 show. We had a table of Jimmyjane products (their full current line), and the Form 4 easily stood out as my favorite (with the Form 6 in second). I’ve had a bad track record with Jimmyjane toys (Hated their games, some of their Iconic, and their Form 3), so I really had planned on avoiding Jimmyjane. After playing with the Form 4 on the table at BlogHer, though, I found that the shape looked surprisingly rumbly and useful. When I got home, I went on to purchase my own Form 4.

Comparison-wise, from what I remember from just touching the toys on the table, the Form 4 had the strongest vibrations of those on the table. I remember the Form 6 coming in second. The Form 2 was next with the Form 3, because of the silicone tongue-like portion being so thin, came far in last.

I heard it at the BlogHer show, and I found it in personal use: the buttons can be a bit of a pain. The + button is very, very easy to press, but the – one, since it’s so close to the pattern button, sometimes doesn’t work like it should. Out of all of the Jimmyjane Form series sex toys, this one seems to be the best about it, but some of the attendants at the show were having issues turning it off because sometimes you accidentally press the Pattern button instead of the – button. I’ve done it during use too. It’s annoying at first, but once you get accustomed to the silicone vibrator, it tends to go a bit better and you do it less often.

The product pictures show some serious vibration from the tip (like some bending), though, and be aware that the Jimmyjane Form 4 does not bend like that. It really is a pretty rigid toy. The silicone isn’t plushy, and while it bends very slightly, it almost sounds like it hurts the toy to do so, so the pictures showing it doing some serious back-and-forth blurred motion just don’t seem to represent the truth.

The Form 4 vibrator is also rechargeable. I love rechargeable toys. This one is made even better by the fact that it is rechargeable via its recharging base. As it recharges via the magnetic port at the base of the vibrator, the Form 4 is completely waterproof. It also is NOT possible to overcharge this vibrator, so you can easily leave it on the charging port which is something I love. Do be aware that the chargers can be a bit finicky though. You have to make sure your toy is sitting up exactly straight in the charger for it to make the proper connection to charge itself. Poking it gently or bumping the table will knock it over too. However, the backlight glows instantly when it does make a connection, so just fiddle with it to make it connect. It doesn’t seem to have any issue losing the connection after you have it connected unless you hit it, so if it’s in an undisturbed place, it will be happy.

The Form 4 takes about two hours to fully charge. Off of that charge, it is supposed to last at least 7 hours. That’s well over what is expected from a rechargeable sex toy. I actually haven’t gotten to the point yet where I have used all 7 hours of the charge despite multiple uses, so it seems like it must get at least 4 hours on a single charge – at least. It also includes a travel lock for when you want to travel.

The description of the Form 4 mentions that it can be used as a g-spot vibrator. I really can’t say that I agree with that one. Sure, you can definitely insert it, but you’ll only get about two inches of insertable length, and it really isn’t shaped for g-spot use – at all. If it hits your g-spot, I am sincerely jealous as having that shallow of a g-spot would be amazing. However, other reviewers have mentioned that it shines amazingly as a g-spot vibrator, so you may have more luck than I do.

For best use, at least for me, is external use. Jimmyjane did a great job with making sure that the vibrations of this vibrator were centered in the tip of the toy. This means that your power is right at the tip which avoids your fingers getting too numb and means that you get the most power where you want it. You definitely do feel the vibrations in your fingertips though.

The vibrations are not earth-moving, but they are certainly strong. They don’t compare with JeJoue Mimi or We-Vibe Salsa, but as long as you aren’t spoiled to really strong vibrations, the Form 4 will probably be enough for you. It’s on the softer end of “Strong” vibrations. The vibrations are surprisingly rumbly too. They aren’t buzzy at all, and when using it, you definitely can feel the vibrations really nicely “under” your skin. Those are the perfect kind of vibrations. On the strongest setting, though, I do find myself wishing it got stronger which is unfortunate. The vibrations are pretty quiet though, and while it definitely can be heard inside of the same room, it can be difficult to hear the vibrations outside of a closed door.

Cleaning the Form 4 is pretty simple. You just want to use warm water and antibacterial soap to clean it. Don’t use any abrasive cleaners, and you can’t boil this either. It’s small enough to easily fit into a condom for shared use, and you can only use water-based lubricant on it. As the toy will not be harmed if you leave it to charge on its base 24/7, if you can, I do recommend leaving it there for storage.

Overall, for me, it’s a good vibrator. I have other luxury vibrators that I would prefer more (LELO Mona, for example), but the Form 4 is one of the best Jimmyjane vibrators that I’ve tried. I like the simple design, and it looks beautiful and works well. I wish it was stronger, and it’d be more of my go-to vibrator, but as it is now, it’s just a good vibrator that I’m comfortable recommending if you are okay with not-earth-shattering vibrations.
