Ruff Doggie Styles Mini Suede Flog-Her Review

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2020: While I’m unable to tell you if the Ruff Doggie styles manufacturer is entirely discontinued, I can tell you that it’s really hard to get ahold of toys from Ruff Doggie Styles anymore. That’s a shame, as I genuinely love a lot of their items, and they still stand-out as amazing toys for me. This Ruff Doggie Flogger review remains as a reference for anyone looking for information about this flogger in the future.

The Ruff Doggie 18″ Suede Flog-Her is an 18″ inch long pink and black flogger made of suede. It is made by Ruff Doggie Styles. It features a hanging strap for easy storage, and the handle is only about five inches long. The tails of the flogger are made from softened suede while the handle is made from softened leather. This flogger is not weighted.

The packaging for the Ruff Doggie Styles Suede Flog-Her is pretty minimal. The flogger comes with a tag on the end of the flogger, but aside from that, it doesn’t come with any other packaging. The tag just shows the company name as well as lists details about the flogger, but for most people, there’s no reason to keep it.

I love Ruff Doggie Styles products. I always have. Their floggers, their BDSM toys, their cuffs, and all of their items always seem to be made with quality in mind as well as with creativity in mind. None of their items seem to be “run of the mill”, and that’s one of the main reasons that I love them so much. All of them (short of one crop I’ve used) are made with good quality materials and usually are really well-stitched for the price. Do they compare to $200 floggers? Gosh, no, but do they definitely stand out in their price bracket? Yes. It’s hard to find better-quality floggers and BDSM toys for the price.

This flogger is similar to the full-size Fulfill-a-Fantasy flogger that Ruff Doggie Styles also makes. The full-length one is about three and a half feet long, but this is the miniature version of it. I absolutely love our full-length version of it, but for when we have limited space in our luggage or limited space to play, something smaller like this Ruff Doggie Styles Mini Suede Flog-Her works better. It really is the same design as the larger one though – just with smaller tails and a smaller handle.

The Ruff Doggie Styles Mini Suede Flog-Her also was made with quality in mind. The handle is very well-sewn, and there aren’t any pieces of leather or strings out of place. The tails are very well-sewn into the base of the flogger, and each one of the tails feels really, really soft. The tails do shed a bit when you first get them, but that’s totally normal. The suede tails feel really soft against the skin, and the hanging loop around the handle is well-sewn as well, so I’d expect it to easily support the flogger for a very long time.

The Ruff Doggie Styles Mini Suede Flog-Her is really gentle to the skin. There isn’t much of a stinginess to this flogger. For the most part, with this flogger, if you hit someone, it’s going to feel pretty thuddy and gentle. It’s like being hit with a large piece of cardboard really. This makes it very gentle for beginners, and even when you hit with a hard hand, it still doesn’t produce more than a mild sting. Again, this is makes it very beginner-friendly.

Wielding-wise, I definitely recommend this if you are a beginner or if you are someone with space limitations. I wish the whole world could own full-sized floggers, but as some floggers near three or four feet in length, that’s just not practical for wielding and storage purposes. For example, in our previous apartment, we would have to wrap the tails of regular sized floggers around the handle multiple times to be able to wield it because we only had a couple feet of usable room. Having a mini flogger like this one would have been amazing. The smaller size and smaller handle make this fit well into smaller areas as well as make it much easier to wield for a beginner. Longer floggers are always more difficult to wield, so if you are a beginner or want something easier to use, something like this Mini Suede Flog-Her can work fantastically.

Cleaning this Suede flogger can be pretty simple, but do keep in mind that traditional cleaning methods won’t really work. Suede and leather don’t really enjoy soap and water much, so you’ll probably just want to wipe it down with a slightly damp washcloth if you need to wipe it down. For storage, it does include a hanging strap that allows this flogger to hang easily over a hook, and because it is suede, you’ll want to be fluid-bonded with any partners you plan on sharing this flogger with.

Overall, I love this flogger. If you have a reason to need to limit yourself on space or if you just want a flogger for getting into some of those smaller areas, the Mini Suede Flog-Her works so amazingly. It feels soft, is very beginner-friendly and warm-up-friendly, and it looks unique too.
