LELO Lyla Review

The LELO Lyla is a vibrating, wireless egg/bullet vibrator created by LELO and sold by Paris Intimates. The bullet is about three inches long while the remote is about two and a half inches long. Both items are made from both silicone and plastic, and the LELO Lyla includes a retrieval string that goes from the base of the egg. The LELO Lyla is fully waterproof, rechargeable, and is controlled wirelessly.

This LELO Lyla review will not cover everything about the LELO Lyla in particular as I covered the LELO Sensemotion controls, the charging system, the packaging, and how they connect at my LELO Insignia Sensemotion Overview post. Please go there to check that information. This review will deal with the specifics of the LELO Lyla toy.

The Lyla itself was intended for internal and external use on a male or female. The Lyla features a bump on the underside of the toy that makes it work wonderfully well for vulvar and clitoral use, but it does include a retrieval cord that makes it a possibility for vaginal use. Some reviewers have mentioned that they have issues with the vibrator responding when inserted, but I must say that we haven’t had any issues with it thus far aside from the one time (talked about below).

For us, the Lyla was used mostly externally. I’m not much for internal vibrations usually, and I just loved the shape of the toy much more when used externally. The cord does get a bit in the way during use, but it’s nothing too much, and the shape of the bulb around the underside of the Lyla actually works well to get between the vaginal lips to apply targeted stimulation. You do have to hold the vibrator there (like a bullet vibrator), and the vibrations can definitely numb your fingers, but externally is how we used this little guy the most.

We did have one issue where the vibrator stopped working once inserted. I couldn’t, for the life of me, figure out why the vibrator had stopped working until we removed it. It turns out that the vaginal muscles had turned off the SenseMotion sensor that made it respond to the remote. Despite trying it again, though, we’ve never had it happen again, so I must imagine that it was a one-time fluke and the vibrator must have gotten placed in the wrong place. If it happens, it’s easy to remove, re-sync with the Bluetooth remote, and go back to using it again.

The vibrations are okay. They are on the higher end of moderate. It’s possible to orgasm with the vibrations, but it really depends on what type of vibrations you require for orgasm. The vibrations tend to be a bit more surface vibration-types, so if you need rumbly vibrations, these may not work. They were enough for orgasm, though, but it was something that had to be worked at. The toy is amazingly quiet though; when between my legs, the toy can not be heard by ME, which would lend itself well to being used out in public. We’ve tried it externally while clothed, and it worked okay for that. However, the remote does have a blinking light that blinks very obviously which may make it difficult to use the remote in public despite the LELO Lyla’s quiet vibrations.

Overall, we have used the LELO Lyla and enjoy it. The SenseMotion functions are really unique, and the toy certainly feels luxurious. The vibrations could certainly use a boost, and I’d love for them to be stronger, but the wireless functions and the SenseMotion functions do seem to work really well (aside from one issue). Thanks to Paris Intimates for providing this LELO sex toy for my LELO Lyla review.
