Zini Ran Review

Zini Ran
The luxury Zini vibrator and all of the contents of the set

UPDATE MAY 2020: The Zini company is no longer making toys. This review remains as a reference for those who are interested in this silicone vibrator.

The Zini Ran is a g-spot and clitoral vibrator made by Zini. This vibrator is made from both silicone and plastic and is about eight inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch. It has multiple speeds, and it’s rechargeable.

The packaging is gorgeous. It comes in a beautiful black box that is high-quality cardboard that will easily stand up to having objects placed on top of it. At the same time, the vibrator does come in a tray that makes it bit hard to get to the items underneath, so I tossed the tray itself. Inside the box, there’s the quick-start guide (it needs one!), the instruction manual, the charger, and a bag large enough to easily hold all of the items. Looking through the guides makes me laugh as they call the actual act of using the vibrator “utilization”. Fancy word for orgasms, right? The Zini Ran also comes with a one-year warranty in case something is wrong with your vibrator as well.

Now, this is one BADASS vibe. I seriously avoid swearing in my reviews most of the time, but this thing is just badass. Really. Yes, it’s a luxury vibrator, and it comes with all of the luxury features that you’d expect in your vibrator – but then it goes above and beyond what you’d normally expect, and that’s the amazing part. You wouldn’t guess it just by looking at the vibrator, but this luxury vibrator has a lot more settings than what you’d normally expect in your vibrator. What are those amazing settings?

Showing the shape of the vibe

Well, for one, this vibrator includes MULTIPLE back-lit LED lights. These lights come in handy when it comes to the charging as well as the patterns. For another, this includes the regular travel lock mode that many vibes have. For another, this vibrator includes a Turbo mode that instantly ups the vibration setting for a strong finish. For another? It will freakin’ TELL you how low it is on battery. Like, seriously. This vibrator has all the features and MORE.

So what about the charging? The Zini Ran is amazing in this aspect. The charging port is located at the base of the toy, and it’s covered by a silicone cap when not in use. It blends in completely with the toy, and you wouldn’t notice it was there unless you went hunting for it. It plugs in to an outlet like an average vibrator would charge. It takes about two hours for a full charge for about 2/3 hours of usage. However, the vibrator can be unplugged during charging (except for the first charge) and used then-and-there. It will not harm the toy. You should not charge it for more than 24 hours at a time.

So what’s the awesome part? The LED lights in the background will CHANGE depending upon how charged your vibrator is. There’s Red, Orange, Yellow, Light Green, Green, and Blue. Each color corresponds to how charged the vibrator is, so you know how much longer it needs to charge. At any time, if you’re curious about whether you need to charge it, hold the center “O” button, and the vibrator will blink the corresponding color to how much charge it has left. The vibrator does include a travel lock which is active during shipping, and like all vibrators, you just hold down all of the buttons to unlock/lock it.

The control panel for the vibrator

So how is the vibrator itself? The Zini is made of that silky-soft silicone that is smooth against the skin. It feels like the LELO silicone. The plastic control panel is flush against the vibrator itself, and there’s a very, very minimal seam that you won’t notice. This Zini vibrator is not-at-all flexible, and it’s very rigid with no plushiness to the silicone either.

The vibrations? Are rumbly. They aren’t buzzy at all. In my little vibration-strength scale, this vibrator is on the lower end of strong. It’s not near a C-battery or plugged-in vibrator, but with most rechargables, it definitely holds its own. This was enough for orgasm for me, and unless you require wand-massager strength, this should be enough strength for most women as well. The vibrations are surprisingly quiet too. The Turbo setting is the highest, and it only rivals a cell phone’s vibration loudness. You definitely can be discreet with this vibrator, and I’m impressed by how strong it is for the quietness.

Another area where the Zini Ran excels is the controls. They aren’t as intuitive as you’d think, so you do want to check the quick-start guide if you want to do anything aside from steady modes of vibrations. Each pattern has its own back-light color, so you can easily reference the colors to your partner or for your own reference. (“Honey, I like the blue one”) Basically, there are three buttons: a +, and -, and a “O” center button. You turn on the vibrator by hitting the + and can turn up the vibration strength that way. The – button turns it off and decreases vibrations. The center “O” button makes you go into pattern mode. Press it again to go back to the steady vibrations mode. Once in pattern mode, you use the + and – buttons to scroll through all of the patterns. Each pattern only has one strength setting, so you can’t adjust that, but there are SIXTEEN different patterns on this vibrator not including the steady vibration patterns. My GOSH!

The only downside to the Zini Ran is that you do actually need to read the instruction guide. I’ve played with tons of vibrators, and when trying to use this one, I was like “why the fuck does it keep changing colors on me?”. A quick look into the instructions would let me know I had entered pattern mode and hadn’t noticed. You can just purely use the + and – keys on the vibrator for steady vibration modes, but don’t deprive yourself, and instead, just look at the prettily-designed quick-start guide to really learn about everything this vibrator can do.

My main use for the Zini Ran is for clitoral use as I love clitoral vibes with a long “handle”. G-spot-wise, I did try it a couple times, but I didn’t have success with it. It definitely is shaped well for my body, and it’s easy to insert and pleasurable, but I didn’t feel like it hit my g-spot too well. However, my g-spot is always, always hard to find, so take that recommendation with a grain of salt. However, this worked amazingly as a clitoral vibrator, and I definitely, DEFINITELY recommend it for that. If you have luck with most g-spot vibrators, I’d say that the Zini Ran would probably work for you too. (See? I have *no* luck with most g-spot vibes, so I didn’t have high hopes, and instead, wanted it for clitoral use.)

Cleaning the Zini Ran is very easy too. This vibrator easily cleans with warm soap and water. The instruction manual says you can clean it in running water, but you should NOT immerse the Zini Ran. Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaners on it. This is only compatible with water-based lubricant. When not in use, I keep my Zini in the storage bag that came with the toy as the box is a bit large just to keep the Zini Ran.

Overall, the Zini Ran goes above and beyond what I expect in a luxury vibe AND it’s still good for orgasms! If you want to take your vibrator to the next level (go technology!), the Zini Ran gives you the materials and the features to do it. The vibrations could be a bit stronger, and you do need to read the instruction manual to learn how to use it, but consider me definitely impressed.
