Evolved Citron Flourentine Review

The vibrator itself

UPDATE MAY 2020: The Evolved Citron Flourentine vibrator is no longer in production. This review remains as a reference for those who are curious.

When I ripped the packaging open, I was surprised by how purple this case is. The packaging is beautiful, and it fits the vibrator beautifully.

The Citron is eight inches long with six and a half insertable inches. Mine comes in a pretty pink, but a pretty blue color is also available. Both are pretty bright colors, but they look really nice. It’s made out of TPR and is phthalates-free. It’s pretty squishy around the entire body of the vibrator but not in a bad way.

The packaging itself is really nice. It comes in a purple tin box decorated with the Evolved logo and a little window to see the toy inside of it. To open the package, you just flip the side attachments and the lid will come off. Inside, the toy rests inside a nice velvet-holed spot that was cut open just for it. It doesn’t include any instruction manual, but it does include a piece of cardboard that tells you the website you should visit for information about the sex toy.

You can use this toy for vaginal or erogenous stimulation. I wouldn’t recommend using the Citron for anal stimulation because it lacks a flared base to use it safely. Personally, I absolutely hate vaginal stimulation with anything that doesn’t have any give, but this toy actually worked well for me. The inside of the Citron looks plastic/metal, but the outer coating that they gave it has a ton of give and actually makes it really pleasurable for insertion since it carries the vibrations nicely.

The packaging

I personally enjoyed the texture. It has little ridges throughout the entire body of the vibrator that gives it some texture. It felt nice during insertion and actually created more stimulation during external use as well. I also found that the toy, while having enough give for vaginal use, does have enough strength because of the core to provide a good amount of pressure during external use for anyone that enjoys pressure.

The Evolved Citron Flourentine takes two AA batteries. To put them in, you unscrew the cap, slide out the little battery holder tray, insert the batteries, and slide the battery holder back in. In fact, this is one of my favorite features of this vibrator. They eliminated the shaking batteries that sometimes happen in the battery compartment – and at the same time, made it twenty times easier to actually put in the batteries for the Citron. I’m really impressed by this design. What makes it more useful? When I’m not going to be using the vibrator for extended periods, I can just slide the battery tray right out and just lay it next to the vibrator in its storage case for future use.

The vibrations themselves are turned on by a button on the bottom of the Citron. You just press the button (and you’ll hear a click) and the vibrator will turn on. Another click will turn it to the medium setting. Another – the high setting. Finally, if you click it again, it will turn itself off. It works well during use, and I never had any sort of problem with it changing when I didn’t want it to. It’s moderately easy to press. You’ll have no problem pressing it if you want to, but if you don’t, you probably won’t switch it.

The Citron with the little battery tray

The Citron includes three different vibration settings. A low setting, a medium setting, and a high setting. The highest setting is hand-numbing, but it’s nothing like any other more powerful toy. The low setting would work wonderfully for a warm-up. However, this one does perform well for just being run on AA batteries. The vibration setting on low is pretty quiet and can not be heard through a shut door. However, when you turn it up to high, it becomes much easier to hear and could probably be heard through a closed door if someone wanted to listen in.

The Citron also claims to be waterproof. I found those claims to be true. After holding it under the water for a couple minutes, it didn’t appear to have any water in its battery compartment. However, remember to tightly screw the cap on before attempting to take this vibrator on any marine adventures.

The battery tray partially inserted

Since the Citron is made out of TPR, you should be able to use silicone, oil, or water based lubricant on it, and they all should be safe. To clean the Citron, I recommend warm water and some mild antibaterial soap. Since they can cause some worries to be sharing with partners, if you plan on sharing, please cover it with a condom – it’s just safer for everyone involved.

Overall, I found this vibrator to do what it advertised well. It was a little loud on the highest setting, but the lower ones were more tolerable. The hard inner core and the soft outside lended itself well to both internal and external play. I have a feeling that some others may not find the texture so comfortable, so if that’s something you don’t enjoy, you may want to avoid this vibrator.
