Burning Desire Set Review

“Burning Desire” is a neat little couple’s sensual set that is a bit more unique than a lot of the other sensual sets you’ll find out there. It’s sold by Babeland Sex Toys.  This set comes with a candle, a box of matches, an instructional manual, and two different “invisible message” cards. It all comes packaged in a fashionable box that is suitable for gift-giving. Not only can the candle be burnt, but the candle also functions as massage oil after it’s been liquidified.

It’s actually a great idea to use for traveling on a vacation because of the small size of the items. Along with that, everything you need for the play is already included in this little box. The box has the little matches already included, the candle is small enough to be easy to repack, and the little cards are small and easy to repackage afterwards as well. Along with that, if you want, the candle box actually has a little string handle to make it easier to carry. All of the items (including the instructions) are packaged in a little cardboard tray inside the cardboard box. The packaging for this set is actually really pretty and sexy.

The set is actually great for romance. We’ve basically used it as a small, romantic candle to have next to our bedside. Since it includes the matches and everything there, we don’t have to go fetch things when we want to use this candle. It’s really great. Most of our candles stay to scent up the rest of the house, but since this one gives a really great glow and scent, we use it for actually providing sensual light for sexual activity. Since the match box is so small, we don’t have to fetch a lighter or anything to keep in the bedroom.

The candle is surprisingly beautiful. It’s a bit small (at about three inches tall and about an inch wide), though, so don’t be too surprised when it’s about the size of your thumb. It’s also made from a glass/ceramic material, and it is painted black and has the beautiful company logo on the outside. The candle is small and doesn’t have too long of a burn time (maybe 15 hours?), but the burn time is drastically reduced depending on how much of the oil you use for massage purposes. Ours hasn’t run out yet, and we’ve used it for two massages and burned it for a couple hours as well, so it really depends on how much massage oil you use and how long you burn it.

The scent is interesting. If you’ve ever smelled Carmex, it smells a bit like that only slightly sweeter. I wouldn’t really call it a sensual, seducing scent, but it is surprisingly good. I really like the scent. (I always loved the smell of Carmex though). It’s slightly sweet, and it does smell like Carmex. It gives the scent relatively well. It’s strong if you’re near it, but it really doesn’t carry throughout a large room. If you have it burning near the bed, you can smell it on the bed though which is really nice.

The wax, surprisingly, softens up the skin. It actually worked pretty well as a lotion when we used it, and it made the skin really soft. It left a slight bit of waxy residue, but it was very, very minimal, and we didn’t even need to wash up afterwards – especially since we only used a thin layer of the massage oil in order to do the massage. If you use a thicker layer, it may end up more waxy. It also doesn’t leave much of a scent. When you initial use it, it leaves a scent, but after being there for about twenty minutes, you can’t smell it on the skin. You can, however, feel how much softer the skin is which is a definite plus when using this over other massage oils.

This one is pretty easy to use too. You just let the candle burn for a bit, and after about twenty minutes, there’s enough pooled wax to use. You blow out the candle, and you can hold the candle above your partner’s skin and pour it onto their skin. I recommend testing the heat of the wax before you pour it onto your partner though to avoid burning them. The wax pours out pretty nicely, and I didn’t have any problems with too much of it dribbling down the sides of the candle. It doesn’t burn the skin either; as long as you tested the wax temperature first, it seems to stay at an even temperature that is warm and sensual but not burning.

In case you were curious, the ingredients for the candle are: Soybean oil hydrogenated, Hydrogenated palm kernel oil, Sesamum Indicum oil, Cera alba, Parfum, Cinnamyl alcohol, Coumarin eugenol, Isoeugenol, Limonene, Linalool. This candle was made in France.

The candle also comes with matches to light the candles. The matches come in a decorative box that looks just like the candle. It’s a small box, and it has the little “lighting strip” on the outside of the box. The boyfriend used this to light the candle multiple times (Fun fact: I’m terrified of matches), and he says they do burn a bit quickly. You have to make sure to use them right away after lighting them as they burn down fast. The set includes 18 total matches.

Along with the matches and the candle, the set comes with two “invisible messages” cards. These cute little cards are reusable and made with heat-sensitive paper. When you put the paper up to the warm candle, it will reveal the message. Body heat doesn’t reveal it. Since there are only two little cards, I won’t tell you what the cards say, but I will say that they aren’t all that interesting and feel more like fortune cookies than anything else. The idea, however, is still really cute though, and you and your partner to “share” the secret only when the candle is lit. We didn’t have any problems with the cards catching on fire either.

Overall, we’re really fond of this set, but it is a bit small. The candle doesn’t last very long because of the small size, and it really is a nice candle, so I wish it lasted longer. However, this does make a great size for traveling, and the small size fits nicely into the bedroom setting. It also is a nice, luxurious set, and it’s romantic to use. Thanks to Babeland Sex Toys for providing this massage and body item for my Burning Desire Set review.
