The Frosted Glass Soy Wax Candle in a Box is a 14 ounce candle that is made for burning as well as massage purposes. The optimal burn time for this candle is 3 hours. Unlike other massage candles, the wax is not squishy or easy to dip into; it’s completely firm and feels like regular wax.
I actually had no idea what I had received when I saw this candle. It looks nothing like the on-site picture shows it looking like. Instead, it is packaged in some see-through plastic that says “Scent of Passion” on the front. Aside from the name itself, there’s nothing “adult” about it. It mentions that it’s a massage candle on the side of the packaging, but it doesn’t say anything risque, so this candle actually makes a great gift for a newlywed couple or anyone celebrating an anniversary. The only place it says the scent is on the bottom of the candle, so the bottom of the candle holds a lot of information about the candle. I also threw away the box after the I received the candle. It can’t be recycled.
The scent on this is amazing. I really love the scent. This one smells more like a tangy vanilla. It’s not quite as soft as a regular vanilla, but it’s like it’s more of an “in your face” scent than a regular vanilla candle. The scent is called “Sultry Plumeria”. It smells amazingly, and it smells like a sexy candle should smell. It has that slight flowery aspect, but it’s nice and balanced with a wood-sy scent at the same time. Really, it’s surprising how many good scent aspects this candle managed to hit.
It fills up a room nicely as well. When it’s burning, I can easily smell it throughout our entire kitchen (where we burn our candles). Other candles tend to stay in one area, but this one does a great job of spreading out throughout the entire kitchen. It wouldn’t fill up an entire room, but for a small area, it does a great job. Along with that, it’s only really easy to notice when you first start burning it. After awhile, your nose just doesn’t notice the scent of the candle anymore. It’s not the candle’s fault, but it’s worth mentioning. If you leave it burning for an hour or so, though, you’ll still notice the scent during that time.

So how well does it work for massage? Well, it does seem to burn a lot hotter than the other massage oil candles that we’ve used. I think it has to do with the fact that the candle isn’t very “soft and squishy” like other massage candles are, but in fact, it’s hardened like “real” candles. This means it probably has to burn hotter to melt it all. We couldn’t use the candle while it was still burning as it burned him when we tried (which is something we can normally do with other massage candles), so I highly recommend blowing this one out, letting it sit for ten seconds, and dipping a finger to test the wax temperature before pouring it onto a partner.
The candle itself is meant to be burned for about three hours. Any more, and it risks starting to burn unevenly. We usually burn ours for about four hours. After you’re done burning it, you’re supposed to make sure that the wick is trimmed to about 1/4 inch for optimal burning. Along with that, just to grip the candle more easily next time, make sure to clean the side of the candle from any run-off if any wax ran down the side of the candle.
I really like this candle. I was surprised. The frosted glass looks sexy and makes the candle look really sexy while burned, and the smell just smells very sexy as well. This is the first candle I’ve considered keeping in my bedroom instead of just the kitchen. It just smells very sensual and sexy, and we love burning it.
