System JO H20 Warming Water-based Lubricant Review

System JO H20 Warming Water-based Lubricant
Showing the bottle

System JO H20 Women Warming water-based lubricant is a lubricant sold by System JO which is part of their JO Women series. All of the lubricants in this series are intended to be body-safe for women. This lubricant comes in 2 ounce and 4 ounce varieties – I happen to have the 4 ounce version. The bottle is a clear bottle with the product clearly labeled on the front with a red cap on top. However, the label is just a sticker, and you could pull off the label if you need privacy with the bottle.

The lubricant comes with a plastic wrap around the body of the bottle just to keep the lubricant from leaking just in case. Even with the plastic wrap off, we haven’t had any problems with the lubricant leaking, so I doubt we’ll have any problems at all. The lubricant doesn’t have any scent to it at all. The top of the bottle is a pump-top which makes it really easy to dispense the lubricant. It does seem to require at least two or three pumps of the bottle to get the “good” amount for use.

Ingredients for this lubricant are: Propyl Paraben, Methyl paraben, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, Pure Natural vegetable glycerin, Mentha Pipenta, Purified water. I’m concerned about the amount of parabens in this lubricant. Some women are allergic to parabens which would make this lubricant a bad choice. Glycerin also can cause yeast infections in some women. However, with my experience with the lubricant, I’ve had no yeast infections nor allergy.

I ended up using this a couple times and the boyfriend ended up trying it with one of his Fleshlights. What we both found is that, for our regular use, it only required one application of the lubricant. I’m sure for really long sessions this would require multiple applications, but for 10 minutes or less, it will work just fine. The lubricant does feel really silky on the skin, and it feels a bit more watery than silicone lubricant, but it does have a nice silky texture that’s hard to find in water-based lubricants. The lubricant does stay pretty slick, and while it does get a bit sticky when it’s drying up, it didn’t get sticky until it was drying up.

One of the things I would not recommend this lubricant for is anal. The lubricant basically has a viscosity of water and isn’t nearly thick enough to work for anal without requiring a ridiculous amount of reapplication. I’d recommend trying a thicker lubricant for anal use.

My biggest complaint with this lubricant is: Where is the warmth? I own both the warming and regular version, and I can’t tell the difference between the two bottles. Neither the boyfriend or I felt any sort of warming at all which was kinda disappointing. Not on his penis, my vagina, or our fingers. Nothing. So the bottle doesn’t do well in that aspect, and no one I’ve talked to has felt any warming with this one either.

The nice thing about water-based lubricants is how nicely they clean up. Just using some soap and water will get this lubricant off of your body. Honestly, the lubricant is light enough that I never feel bothered enough to get up and wash off the lubricant though – I only get it off of my hands. For storage, just make sure to keep the bottle lube-free, and you’ll be set. Water-based lubricant works just fine with all sex toys, with condoms, for masturbation, and for sex as well. When on fabric, it didn’t stain either.

Something weird I’ll point out: This should be compatible with all sex toys, but the System JO website says that this lubricant is only compatible with high-quality silicone which means that this lubricant would have to be a silicone-based lubricant. However, it feels like water-based, so I’m lost. However, make sure to spot test on your silicone toys before trying – just in case.

The System JO H2O Warming Water Lubricant is a good lubricant for regular use, but don’t expect any warming sensations out of it. It seems to work great for regular use, and while we’ll definitely continue using it for Fleshlight use, it doesn’t provide the warming sensations like it advertises. As a regular water-based lubricant, though, it does measure up. Thanks to System JO for sending me this lubricant to try, and you can get your own bottle of JO H2O Warming Water on their website.
