The Mini Cat-O-Nine tails is a small flogger produced by Pipedream Products. It’s actually a flogger since it has a ton more than 9 tails – there’s gotta be at least 30 or 40 different tails on this one. It’s not a very big flogger – like the product name implies, this is a pretty small one. I’d say it’s about nine inches in total length with the handle being three of those inches. It seems to be made out of a softened leather. It includes a little hanging strap that hangs off the top of the handle that seems to be made of a faux leather.
There really isn’t any packaging for this one. There’s a little tag that’s attached by a plastic piece to the hanging strap of the flogger. I did find it odd that, while the tag has some pictures of attractive women on it, there are no pictures of the product itself on it – just random pictures of women. Odd.
The handle is pretty tiny – just those three inches long. This means that you will not be able to get a full grasp on the handle because of the small size. Since the flogger is so light, you don’t really need a full grip on it though. The handle is wood/plastic with the soft leather wrapped around it in red and black. Along both top and bottom sides of the handle, there are strips of faux leather that have been attached with rivets to the flogger.
The tails are pretty soft. They appear to be just one piece of the fabric that was cut into seperate little tails and left as one piece at the top of the flogger to attach it to the handle. There’s about forty different tails on this flogger as well. They are relatively heavy, so when used, the tails will move together as a group. They don’t have any special cut at the bottom of the tails – it’s just a regular cut horizontally across the leather.
So why would you use a small flogger like this? Well, its small size is exactly what makes it perfect for small-area use. For example, in dorm rooms or small apartments where you don’t have a lot of space, this can be used as an impact toy instead of a full-size flogger. If you want something discreet and don’t think you’ll be able to hide a full-size flogger, this one works wonderfully as well. This is definitely a nice beginner-style flogger as well. The tails all move together as a group which means a lot less sting than some other floggers. Even when I attempted to hit really, really hard, it barely left much of a sting. I’d assume this is because the tails aren’t really long enough to gather too much momentum. This ends up being very, very slightly stingy but mostly thuddy which makes it perfect for most couples who want to adventure out into the world of BDSM. If struck repeatedly with some force, it will start to hurt a bit more and will leave the skin flushed with a pink glow. It doesn’t appear to ever draw blood or leave permenant marks though. However, like stated before, this won’t give you much of a sting at all, so if you are seeking pain, I’d recommend trying elsewhere.
This flogger is pretty easy to take care of. The tails do have a memory though, so I wouldn’t recommend folding this in half for storage or placing it under large objects that can press down onto the tails. I’d recommend keeping this away from bodily fluids or water, but if it needs to be cleaned, a slightly damp washcloth should get most of the dirt and grime off of it. For optimal storage, I’d recommend hanging it up by the hanging strap somewhere.
Overall? It’s adorable, easy to hide, and surprisingly high-quality for the price.
