Dr. Love Silicone Lubricant Review

Dr. Love Lubricant
The bottle

Turns out, nine years later, Dr. Love Lubricant isn’t being made anymore. If you’re looking for a high-quality silicone lubricant, it’s still hard to go wrong with one of the silicone-based Pjur lubricants or Sliquid Silver. – April 2019.

Dr. Love Lubricant is a high-quality silicone lubricant that uses less ingredients than most of the silicone lubricants out there. It comes in a 50 and 100 ml size. The bottle has a nice little push-top dispenser that makes it pretty easy to get out the lubricant although it doesn’t have any sort of grip or design that makes it easy to hold the bottle when the bottle is covered in the lubricant. The bottle comes covered in a plastic lining that is extremely easy to get off but does protect the lubricant from leaking during shipping – just in case. Silicone lubricant can be used in water and can also be used with condoms. This bottle is a gorgeous black bottle with the “Dr. Love” emblem on the front along with some cute hearts. This is probably my favorite lubricant packaging that I’ve seen so far.

The ingredients on this are even more simple than most silicone lubricants. It just has Dimenthicone and Dimenthiconol. Two very simple ingredients that make up the silky finish of this silicone-based lubricant. The two ingredients included are body-safe.

Showing the size of the bottle

I was really surprised by how little this lubricant really uses per use. It takes just a tiny, tiny amount – less than dime-sized, to really lubricant an entire area for an entire playtime. Obviously, if your playtime goes a little long, it make take some reapplications, but for all of our purposes, it stayed completely lubricated the entire time we were playing which was really nice. It goes on very smoothly and feels pretty much like silk. Even with lots of movement, the lubricant didn’t end up rubbing off which was extremely nice.

We ended up getting a drop on one of Jor’s shirts too, and it didn’t stain the shirt either. I’d imagine it wouldn’t stain anyone’s sheets because of this experience which is always something nice to know when you tend to be messy with lubricant (like I do.) I haven’t noticed the bottle leaking at all either – even after being tossed around in our lubricant drawer – so this should be safe for travel.

The lubricant doesn’t feel greasy upon application, but if left on for awhile, it does tend to feel a little greasy since it doesn’t wipe off with a towel like most lubricant. Wet wipes or GoodVibes Wipes seem to get rid of the greasy feeling a lot better than a regular towel in case you don’t want to get up and wash your hands in the middle of play. During use though, the lubricant does tend to feel gummy, sticky, or greasy which is really nice. Afterwards, it won’t wash off quite so easily, but it just takes a couple washes of warm water and some soap to get it off. Again, those wipes really seem to help get the lubricant off as well.

Overall, I sincerely liked the Dr. Love Lubricant. It’s a great lubricant that was made with quality body-safe ingredients and works perfectly as a silicone lubricant.
