A suitable option for people who have never experimented with prostate stimulation before, this black sex toy is a diameter of less than an inch with an insertable length of 3.5″. Unlike a majority of the other male prostate stimulation toys, the Vibratex Black Pearl does come with its own little “storage” built right in. The toy comes in a zipper-closure, black pouch that fits the toy, the charger, and the instruction manual with no problem. As the pouch is noticeably opaque and thick, make sure the toy is entirely dry before you put it in here for storage. It’s gorgeous packaging, though, that’s entirely functional. No wasted cardboard box or plastic parts.
The Black Pearl definitely has a very interesting design. It looks almost like you’ve piqued its interest in something. The tip is the thickest part of the toy, but even then, it’s not super thick. After that, it moves into a slimmer part then into another bulb that’s about as thick as the tip. It gets more slender down the shaft until you hit the base – which is thick in thickness but thin in width – which allows it to sit comfortably between the cheeks.
Like most prostate massagers, the Black Pearl is entirely rigid. It doesn’t have any softness or give to it. This allows it to reliably, and regularly, hit the prostate. As the toy is designed to use the internal muscles to massage the prostate, having a rigid toy that moves easily is important. The slim size of the toy means it will be entirely unassuming for those who have very little anal experience.
Speaking of little anal experience, the Black Pearl is a good choice if you’re concerned about larger toys or haven’t played much with anal options. For those who enjoy using penis-sized (or larger!) objects for anal stimulation, you might find the Black Pearl to be pretty underwhelming. At about the size of a finger, it’s a fantastic beginner option – or an option for those who really love prostate stimulation but aren’t fond of being stretched. The slim size makes this suitable for someone’s first attempt at anal. Almost everyone should have little problem inserting this toy on the first try.
It’s worth mentioning that the size may or may not be an issue for some. Prostate stimulation is particularly designed to focus on the prostate – so the size of the toy shouldn’t be at the forefront of your concerns. However, if you’ve enjoyed prostate stimulation (in the past) while concurrently enjoying a stretch or thicker penetration, you might be underwhelmed. If you’ve never experienced prostate stimulation OR want to try a toy that solely focuses on hitting that spot, the Black Pearl is going to be a good choice for you. It’s designed to do one thing very, very well – and that’s hit the prostate.
Screw having to worry about batteries. The Black Pearl prostate stimulator uses a rechargeable design. It uses a USB-port charging cable that slides into a hole on the base. The charging port is designed to still be splashproof for easier cleaning, but it doesn’t allow the toy to be waterproof. The Black Pearl Vibratex prostate massager also comes with a wall outlet optional attachment, so if you prefer you can plug the USB cable into the adapter instead of plugging into a USB port. A complete charge takes about 40-60 minutes and the red light on the toy will turn off when the charge is complete.
Controlling the vibrations is done by a button on the base. There’s just a single button on the base. Holding the button down will turn on or turn off the toy. Pressing the button a single time will allow you to cycle through the vibrations. The vibrating prostate massager starts with the steady vibration settings (thankfully!) which is what most people will use. You’ll have to press the button the required amount of times to make it to the patterned vibrational settings, and when the toy is turned off, it will start back at square one. It’s not the “best” vibration control design, but it’s basic enough, and most people will be able to control it without even reading the instructions.
When it comes to the vibrations, discretion isn’t its main function. The vibrations have a pretty noticeable buzzing sound to them – even when entirely inserted. The vibrations can easily be heard within the same room, and in an entirely quiet house, they can be heard outside of a closed door. As for the feeling, the vibrations definitely have more of a “buzzy” sensation than a deep and rumbly one. The vibrations tend to feel more centered near the center of the shaft – not near the prostate tip. The vibrations can be felt throughout the entire toy, though – including pleasurably along the perineum on the external side of the toy. Long-term use (over a half an hour) can start to feel a bit numbing, though. The vibrations are definitely buzzy.
Now whether the vibrations add much to the sensation is an entirely different argument. Some people are definitely going to find that they’d rather use the Black Pearl without the vibrations. From our experience, depending on the day, the vibrations can actually feel too buzzy and distracting from the p-spot instead of enhancing the sensations. I’d recommend leaving the vibrations off until you’ve found that spot and have been stimulating it for awhile. Once you hit that point, the vibrations seem to be an added “surprise” and pleasant bonus to the already-good stimulation. It seems distracting if you start with the toy “on”. I’m glad that the Black Pearl offers the optional vibrations, though – and of course, I’m sure preferences for vibrations and such will vary depending upon every person’s own body.
As a prostate massager, it functions pretty well. Depending on how deep your prostate is, you might find yourself experimenting more with positions to get the toy to hit your prostate reliably, but for most people, the toy will be able to hit the prostate with a bit of experimentation. The toy’s design does “rock” really nicely once inserted – which is what a lot of prostate manufacturers recommend doing (using the internal muscles to push the toy up against the prostate repeatedly). You can also provide a similar sensation by touching the base, but the point is: the Black Pearl will hit the prostate in most people with a bit of experimentation.
If you have a lot of anal experience, however, the Black Pearl from Vibratex may not be a good anal toy choice for you. The slim size feels particularly underwhelming for those who are experienced. This would be a minor point – except the slim size and the lack of a large retention area means that the toy slips out – regularly. Because the partner’s butt was used to toys of a much more substantial girth, the toy would slip out with each clamping of the muscles until it was far enough out that it had to be pushed in with a hand to get back into place. Wearing underwear or placing the butt against a surface (bed, wall, etc.) helped solve that, but it did make it a lot harder to lay on the side for use like a lot of beginner toys recommended. However, this is with a person who regularly uses pretty large anal toys – beginners may not have nearly the same issues.
As this prostate stimulator is splashproof, it does make clean-up a bit easier. You’ll want to use warm water and anti-bacterial soap to clean it up, but you don’t have to be super careful while cleaning. Don’t put it directly under running water or submerge it, but otherwise, just make sure you clean the entire surface of the toy. As the toy has no texture, it makes it easy to get a full clean without worrying too much. As an anal toy, you’ll want to use a bunch of lube for use – water-based lubricant is the best choice. For storage, this toy stores particularly well in its storage pouch; just make sure it’s fully dry before putting it away.
Overall, the Black Pearl is going to be a good option for those who want to start experimenting with prostate pleasure. While the toy’s simple design hits the prostate just fine, some people may enjoy the bonus addition of the vibrations – while some may find the buzzy vibrations to be distracting. On the same vein, “size lovers” may find that the toy feels too slim and starts to slide out – while beginners are going to love that they can use the toy without any prep or without any concerns. The Black Pearl definitely will have a following for some people for prostate stimulation, but it’s not a toy that’s going to be suitable for everybody.
