Touche Sentinel Silicone Anal Vibrator Review

The Touche Sentinel

UPDATE OCTOBER 2022: The Touche Sentinel is no longer in production. This review remains as a reference for those who want more information about this toy. While you’re here, why don’t you check out my BDSM advice, femdom advice, and BDSM scene outlines? I also recommend my online submissive tasks, enema play 101 post, and Should I Buy a Fleshlight? information.

While I’m not a huge fan of anal play, we’ve been trying it quite a bit with my boyfriend, and after my experience with some of the other Touche products, I really wanted to give more of their products a try. When this sex toy store offered it up for review, I accepted, and I can’t say that I’ve regretted it.

The Touche Sentinel is a purple plug meant for anal use that is made from silicone. The Sentinel is about four and a half inches long with a diameter of about an inch and a half. It’s nothing huge, but it may look a little large to some anal beginners. The plug itself then trails down into the handle which includes a little loop for easily handling and then there’s a small inch and a half piece of silicone that comes off the handle with a small 1/3 inch ball on the end of it. This piece is a little flimsy, but it’s meant to be that way. It’s meant to help transfer the vibrations from the main part of the toy to the perineal area. All of the Sentinel is seamless except for a small part on the bulb of the sex toy that has had the Touche label etched into the side. Inside of the bulb of the anal plug there is a small hole where the bullet fits in very snugly. From looking at the Sentinel in its hard to recycle packaging, it’s impossible to tell there’s even a hole there.

The bullet slid into the Sentinel

The packaging is gorgeous – as usual. Touche makes beautiful packaging that is very tasteful. Inside the gorgeous black packaging is plastic that holds the Sentinel where it should be. Underneath the plastic is two different instruction manuals and the bullet key. One instruction manual has instructions in Russian, Polish, and Italian, and the other instruction manual has instructions in English, French, German, and Spanish. The bullet key comes in a little black pouch that keeps it safe from harm. On the back of the bullet key is instructions to pull your bullet out of the Sentinel in the case that you need to change the batteries. Since the bullet is very firmly lodged in the toy, I recommend you use this to get it out.

What’s neat about the Sentinel is how the silicone thickness differs. In the bulb of the toy, it’s completely unhollow. The silicone is all very firm and makes it easy to slide in. In the handle and handle-loop of the toy, the silicone is still unhollow, but there’s less of it and it’s much more flexible which makes this more comfortable to have between the butt cheeks. The final piece, the little extension for the perineum, is even less firm, and it moves around quite a bit to help stimulate the perineum.

The vibrations on this Sentinel are pretty basic. It’s just a plain bullet vibrator that has been pushed into the body of the bulb. It has one setting of mild vibrations, and I must say they aren’t strong at all. The one setting does stay on for quite a while without any sort of problem, and these are also probably the most quiet vibrations I’ve ever seen. Sitting it directly on the palm of my hand, I can’t hear the vibrations – I can only feel them. This works great for places where you would need privacy. The vibrations transfer well through the bulb of the plug, but by the time they’ve reached the perennial attachment, they have weakened quite a bit. It’s still possible to feel them, but they don’t provide significant vibrations.

Packaging for the Sentinel

If you dislike the attached bullet, I really doubt there’s much you can do when it comes to changing it out. There are other bullets out there that are small enough to fit, but for the most part, most factory-made bullets probably wouldn’t fit into the Sentinel. This one was made specifically for the Sentinel, and that’s why it fits in so nicely that you need another piece to get the bullet out. So would it be possible to remove the bullet with another small, thin object? Probably, but you might end up hurting the silicone in the process. I’d recommend you really try to just keep track of the bullet key that is included with the set.

It works pretty well. It was a little bit difficult to get it in at first because of the size, so I don’t think I’d recommend this to anal and kink beginners, but it felt pleasurable once it was in. It didn’t touch the prostate or anything, but it did feel pretty filling. One of the bigger complaints I had about it is that the boyfriend says hat the perineum stimulator didn’t feel pleasurable – just tickly. He ended up holding that away from him during use, but he still says he liked the rest of the toy besides that. (He’s also pretty ticklish, so it depends on the person, I guess.) The vibrations are definitely strong enough to be felt, so he was happy about that, and it felt pleasurable when it was in. He says that he wouldn’t want to keep the vibrations on if he was going to be wearing it long-term because it would probably make him feel a little bit numb though. But for short-term use, he says it was definitely pleasurable.

Cleaning a silicone toy is pretty easy as well. If you use the bullet key to take out the bullet, you can easily choose to boil this for a couple minutes to sterilize it. It would probably be the most efficient way to clean it once you consider that bacteria could get stuck in the bullet hole. If you only want to do a quick clean-down, using antibacterial soap and some warm water will clean it up nicely.

During use of the Sentinel, don’t forget that it is made of silicone. Because of that, water-based lubricant should only be used. Avoid using silicone-based because it will harm the body of the toy itself and make it icky. For storage, I keep mine in the original packaging, but any place you choose to put this toy should work fine.
