Dinky Digger G2 Front. He has a flower. :)

UPDATE MAY 2020: The Dinky Digger II is no longer in production. FunFactory is still around and making awesome things, but they’ve moved away from the cute-sy animal vibes.

Now who could turn down those adorable little paws and his cute nose?

The Dinky Digger II is a silicone vibrating sex toy from Fun Factory. He’s six inches long with five inches of insertable length. The Dinky Digger 2 also has an inch of diameter. Since it’s made from silicone, it’s is soft, phthalate-free, and body-safe. The silicone of the toy is obviously shaped into a little groundhog of some type. The groundhog himself is holding a cute little flower in his front.

The packaging is basic and standard for all FunFactory toys. It comes in a little yellow and red package with a window cut out so we can see the toy itself. On the backside is the magnetic doors that will open to let you see the backside of the toy and read some details on the packaging itself. The toy comes with some Toy Fluid lubricant to try out, the instruction manual for the toy itself, and an advertising booklet of all of the different Fun Factory toys.

The Dinky Digger requires two AA batteries. (Not included) Easy to find around my apartment, so no complaints there. However, putting the batteries in is a giant pain in the ass. The bottom plastic part around the base (everything but the silicone part, really) will just slide off to insert the batteries. However, in order to do that, you have to push down like three buttons all at once – and press them down hard. Maybe I just have pansy fingers, but I can never manage to push down the three of them hard enough to actually open the battery compartment. The boyfriend can, but I definitely can’t. Once you get the batteries in, the battery portion is really easy to slide back into place.

The turn-dial base for the Dinky Digger 2. You can see the gray part with a finger-print outline. That’s to remove the battery compartment.

Vibrations are pretty basic. The turn dial at the bottom of the Dinky Digger changes the vibrations on the toy. This turn dial is a little different. It starts off in a basic position where the toy is turned off then as you turn it right OR left it will steadily increase in vibrations, reach a peak, then decrease in vibrations. Once you go a full circle on it, it will turn itself back off again. Instead of just turning one way, you can turn the dial either way, and when you go a full circle, it will turn itself off. To be completely honest, I’m not fond of this new system. It takes a little bit longer to figure out where the strongest vibration point is, and it also can be a bit finiky when it comes to finding the “off” point. I just don’t like the fact that it will go both ways honestly.

The vibrations are pretty basic. All the Dinky Digger II has it steady vibration levels. It goes up from a “slightly strong” to a “strong” level in about four distinct levels on the turn dial. Like I said, it will go up to the strongest point, and if you keep turning, it will go right back down. The vibrations are entered towards the top of the battery compartment near the Dinky Digger’s hands. They travel nicely up towards his nose, but they do lose a little bit of strength. The vibrations can be a little loud as well, but only on the highest setting. On the three lower ones, the vibrations are pretty quiet and not even heard in the same room. However, on the last setting – the highest – I could see someone being able to hear this through a door if they really wanted to. I think it’s a matter of the batteries rattling around in the battery compartment that produces the noise. I haven’t really found any way to stop it.

The Dinky Digger 2 also claims to be waterproof. I found this to be true. It passed the splashproof test without any sort of problem, and it also could be dunked underwater without any problem. I think this is probably true because of how much of a pain in the butt it is to get the battery compartment open.

The backside of my little digger.

So how well does it work? It depends on what you’re going for. I like to use most vibrators clitorally. I also like to be able to apply pressure. That’s a bit of a problem with the Dinky Digger G2. Everything above his paw holding the flower is soft silicone. It’s easily pliable and will bend really nicely. This doesn’t work for me attempting to put pressure on myself very well. However, the Dinky Digger II actually felt pretty good for internal stimulation. It didn’t stimulate my g-spot, but it did provide an interesting texture along with being soft enough to be comfortable. I could feel any specific parts of the toy though – it just felt a little more interesting than I’m used to.

Taking care of the Dinky Digger II is easy. You could choose to keep it in its original box, but I honestly find Fun Factory packaging to be a little annoying. I’d recommend just throwing it in a plastic baggie or in your regular toy storage areas. When storing, remember that this silicone toy will pick up quite a bit of hair and lint. It seems to be attracted to it. When it comes to lubricant, water-based is the only thing that will work. Silicone-based lubricant will interact with your Dinky Digger and make it all sickly and broken. Just stick with water-based lubricant to be safe. Cleaning him is really easy. You can wash it with warm water and some antibacterial soap to get rid of the bacteria or if you need to, you can use some bleach and wipe it down to sterilize it. Don’t boil it since it does have electronic parts in it.

Overall, it’s a great vibrator for internal use, but it just didn’t suit my needs for external use. It’s adorable, and I honestly feel a little bad using it as a sex toy. However, Fun Factory did make a high-quality toy here, so if you are looking for a neat insertable, I completely recommend it.
