The Ruff Doggie Styles Madame’s Mystique Paddle is a unique bdsm paddle. About eleven inches in length with two unique sides (a leather side and a fabric side), this paddle also features a wrist strap on the bottom of the handle. This paddle doesn’t come in any particular packaging, but it does come in a plastic bag to protect it via shipping, and it has a small tag hanging on the handle that is easily removed.
The design of the Ruffle Doggie Styles Madame’s Mystique Paddle is pretty simplistic. One side of the paddle is made of a completely different material than the opposite side. One side is made of a black and red fabric that looks very “gothic”. The opposing side is made purely of black, smooth leather. This gives the paddle two very unique sensations. There’s a cord tied at the end of the paddle that can easily be cut off if you want – but it does give you a way to hang the paddle if you want.
This paddle is extremely high-quality. All of the edges of the paddle are completely smooth, and the stitching that’s holding the paddle together is well-done with none of the sewing coming undone. The fabric on one of the sides of the paddle feels pretty smooth, and it has a satin-like feel to it. The leather on the opposing side isn’t too softened, but it does leave a very smooth surface. The paddle itself seems to be made of a pretty sturdy material, so unlike other cheap paddles we’ve had, there appears to be no danger of it bending in half during use.
When it comes to handling this bdsm paddle, it’s extremely comfortable. The handle is about the perfect size for my hands, and I imagine it will be fine for most people. However, if you have very large hands, the paddle might feel a bit small for your hands as the handle is a pretty small area to grip onto. In this case, cutting off the hanging strap will give you extra handle room. The paddle is nice and light, and it paddles pretty nicely. It’s pretty well-weighted, so it doesn’t feel like the handle or the opposite part is too heavy; it all feels pretty even.
As for how it feels, this paddle has two distinct sensations to add to your bondage sessions. Both sides give a pretty deep, intense hit to them. Both sides give a strike that can be felt “under” the skin and deep in the muscle. In particular, the fabric, red side is much better at giving that. It doesn’t have any other stingy sensation with it. However, the all-leather, black side gives out the same, deep, intense hit BUT with an added addition of a stingy sensation. With any moderate hit, this leather side brings that stinging sensation, so you’re really getting both sensations – stingy and deep. So depending on which sensation you like (or whether you want to cause discomfort later on versus stinging pain at the moment), this paddle provides both. Something to keep in mind is that you CAN leave bruises with this paddle if you hit long and hard enough. It does have a sensation that goes pretty deep, and as such, it can cause bruises.
I would recommend this to beginners and advanced users alike. The paddle certainly isn’t the “most” beginner-friendly thing out there, but if you’re gentle with it during spankings, it could be used for beginners. I’d still much more recommend it for advanced players just because of the bruises it can cause, but it’s an okay paddle for beginners as long as you realize that you may have to tone down the intensity. I definitely recommend trying out the paddle somewhere on your own body, first, before using it on others because it seems light-weight and friendly, but it certainly doesn’t “feel” that way.
To clean this Madame’s Mystique paddle, you’ll want to use a washcloth that’s slightly dampened with warm water. Don’t use soap on this as leather doesn’t particularly like soap, and avoid getting the paddle too damp. Avoid getting this kinky paddle in the way of bodily fluids or lubricant – just to make cleaning easier. For storage, it’s best to set it on a flat surface away from weight or just to hang it from the hang strap on the base of the handle.
Overall, I would recommend this paddle to anyone who wants deeper-muscle spankings – not just the surface stingy sensations. It can provide the stingy sensations, too, but most of its qualities lend itself well to deep tissue spankings. If you want to leave bruises, this one definitely would work. It’s high-quality, pretty affordable, easy to handle, and just looks pretty sexy.
