The Envie Smooth Massager vibrator is a silicone and plastic vibrator. With a silicone shaft and a plastic handle, the Envie is manufactured by NS Novelties and comes in both a black/pink color combination and a black/green color combination. This silicone vibrator is about seven inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch. This sex toy takes two AAA batteries for use.
The packaging for this vibrator is pretty cute. It comes in a cardboard box that has a small, see-through window that shows off the vibrator on the inside. The packaging is pretty stiff and strong, and you could use it for storage if you want, but it is also much, much larger than the vibrator itself, so it may not be the best choice for storage. It is very cute packaging, though, and works fantastically for gift-giving purposes.
The design of this vibrator is unique, but it also is very familiar. That’s because the shaft just feels like a regular shaft from a traditional vibrator. What sets this sex toy apart, though, is the rounded base at the bottom of the vibrator. Along with providing a place to hold the vibrator, this rounded base also does make it much more anal-safe than your average traditional vibrator. This circular base is made from plastic while the shaft of the vibrator is made from silicone. The majority of the silicone shaft is smooth and textureless, but as you can see, towards the base of the shaft, the vibrator gets quite a bit of ridging. Contrary to the sight of it, this ribbed place is NOT flexible, and it’s purely just ribbing. It doesn’t make the vibrator bend at all.
The Envie vibrator is controlled by two AAA batteries. The circular base at the bottom of this vibrator unscrews and allows you to easily insert those two batteries. The batteries also come back out just as easily when the vibrator is shaken. It’s no issue at all to insert the batteries. It does not come with batteries, though, so you will need to provide your own.
The Envie’s vibrations are controlled by the button at the base of the shaft. With each press of the button, the LED lights around the circular base will also turn on which is pretty cool. It has steady vibration settings as well as patterns, and it can be turned off by holding down the button for a couple of seconds. It’s pretty easy to control.
And the vibrations? Well, they could use a power boost. I’d call these vibrations on the “lower end” of moderate. For more sensitive people, they might be enough for orgasm, but I don’t think they’ll be enough for orgasm for the majority of people that use a vibrator purely for orgasm. If you use one just for the fun of using one, it might be enough, but if vibrations are usually THE reason you can orgasm, this may not be enough oomph for you. On the bright side, though, the vibrations are pretty quiet, and while they can be heard in the same room, they can’t be heard outside of the room with the door closed.
The Envie vibrator tends to lend itself best to clitoral stimulation or anal use. The vibrator is just really a bit too short to lend itself well to vaginal penetrative use. If you don’t want to get into the extremely ribbed portion, that only leaves you about three inches of penetrative area which isn’t a lot for most people. For anal stimulation, for some, that would be a good amount of stimulation, though, so that’s also something to keep in mind. If you tend to like inserting toys vaginally for fullness and thrusting, though, the Envie vibrator may not work too well for that.
That’s why I recommend it most for clitoral stimulation versus other uses. The circular base makes it simple to hold while the straight-like design of the vibrator along with the rigid material means that it holds firm when you press it against the body. Plus, with the nice, smooth silicone, the vibrator tends to slide nicely against the skin. The only downside about clitoral use with the Envie vibrator is that there just isn’t going to be enough power for everyone. With vibrations that are “moderate” in strength at best, they aren’t going to be strong enough for orgasm for everyone. If you require very strong and rumbly vibrations, the Envie vibrator may not work for you for that purpose.
I must admit that am confused by the ridging at the base, though. Is it purely for looks? I know I didn’t enjoy the intense ridging of the vibrator when inserted too far. It seems to really reduce the “useable” area of the vibrator, so aside from the pretty looks (which it does look pretty), I must admit to being a bit confused by the inclusion of it.
The handle of the vibrator had some design thought put into it, and for that, I’m very thankful. The outside, black portion of the handle is all made from plastic. However, on the inside of the circle, the pink portion is made of silicone. This silicone makes the vibrator easier to grasp and keeps it from slipping as often out of my hands. However, you do have to make sure to take extra attention to clean inside this circle as it’s somewhere that could be overlooked while cleaning if you aren’t careful.
Another thing to point out: the LED lights on the base of the vibrator match up with the pattern that the vibrator is currently turned on to. This can work surprisingly well if you have a partner controlling the vibrator as it can let them know what pattern or what intensity the vibrator is on at the current moment. The light is very clear and easy to see, and if knowing what setting the vibrator is on while your partner controls it is important to the two of you, the Envie vibrator does provide that.
To clean this vibrator, as it’s waterproof, you don’t have to be quite as careful while washing it. To clean it, you need to use warm water and antibacterial soap. It’s easy to cover this with a condom to keep it covered for multiple partners, and if you want to use any lubricant, you have to use water-based lubricant. The silicone does pick up a slight bit of hair and lint, but it should be fine as long as you don’t store it in a lint trap. It will work best in a storage baggie for keeping it clean, though.
Overall, I like the design of the Envie vibrator and how it controls. I like the feeling of the soft, smooth silicone, and I like the circular base. I really could find myself very fond of the Envie vibrator if the vibrations were stronger. Right now, the vibrations are pretty buzzy, light, and surface-feeling in intensity. That’s just not enough for me. if the shape and the vibrations sound right for you, though, the Envie is a good quality toy to check out.
