LELO Mona 2 Vibrator Review

LELO Mona 2 Vibrator
LELO Mona 2 Vibrator

The LELO Mona 2 vibrator is a new, re-release of the previous LELO Mona design. With improvements, this new vibrator is also offered in a wider selection of colors. Rechargeable and made of body-safe silicone, the Mona 2 vibrator features a g-spot curve for targeted pleasure. The Mona 2 is about eight inches long with a diameter of slightly over an inch at the widest point (which is near the curve towards the tip).

The packaging for the LELO Mona 2 is just as beautiful as the original packaging. The packaging also looks just as pretty. The Mona 2 comes in a beautiful cardboard box that shows the color and the features of your vibrator. Inside this box, there is a much sturdier, cardboard box that is purely black and says “LELO”. This box works wonderfully for storage. Inside that black box, there is a cut-out tray specifically designed for the Mona 2 as well as a side storage compartment which includes the charger, the instruction booklet, the satin storage bag, and the information about the warranty.

So, as I’m sure you’re curious, what did LELO improve about the Mona 2 vibrator versus the original Mona vibrator? For one, and it’s something I’m sure many people will be excited about: LELO made the vibrator completely waterproof. LELO changed out the motor and made the vibration strength 100% more powerful with a different motor, and along with that, they also lengthened the vibrator’s length slightly. The Mona 2 is now available in this beautiful pink “Cerise” color that makes me extremely happy as well. Along with the Mona vibrator, LELO is also re-releasing the Ina 2 and the Elise 2 vibrators with these same improved features.

So, the length. LELO appears to have added about a half an inch of length to the length of the Mona 2 vibrator. This length is all in the insertable portion, and the curve of the vibrator is exactly the same as it was with the original Mona vibrator – it just happens to have a little bit longer shaft. If the length was an issue for you before, this may be worth repurchasing, but do be aware that it’s only a half an inch; it’s not a huge difference. (I never thought the length in the original Mona vibrator was an issue, but obviously, someone must have, so again, personal preference).

Comparison between Mona 1 and Mona 2. Mona 2 is the pink one. You can see LELO condensed the control panel and made the Mona 2 a bit longer.

So, the vibrations. These are interesting. You CAN tell there is an increase in power, but it definitely can be a bit hard to tell. I gave my partner a “Is this stronger: A or B?” test, and after doing it multiple times, he did agreed that the Mona 2 is stronger, but it can be harder to tell. What I, personally, notice is that the vibrations in the Mona 2 seem to be much more “rumbly” versus the slight-more-buzzy vibrations of the original Mona vibrator. I don’t know if I’d say that the vibrations have been upped a “ton”, but I can tell they’ve been upped, and they are a lot more rumbly which is fantastic for me. The older Mona tended to have more surface vibrations that weakened with pressure.

So, the waterproof capability. The new Mona 2 vibrator appears to charge the exact same way that the first Mona vibrator did. It includes the same silicone “plug” to guard the charging port as well. However, unlike the original Mona vibrator, the Mona 2 vibrator is waterproof, so you don’t have to be quite as careful when cleaning it. I have not tested this yet (as I’m fond of my Mona 2), but as LELO has made many waterproof vibrators before this new Mona 2, I am quite confident that the waterproof capabilities will work as advertised.

The Mona 2 vibrator charges exactly like the original Mona vibrator charged. There’s a small port at the base of the vibrator that is usually covered by a small silicone cover. When the cover is removed, you can insert the charger to charge the vibrator. The Mona 2 takes about two hours to charge, and that two hour charge will give you four hours of use time. Like in the previous version, the backlit LED controls will pulse while the vibrator is charging, so after they stop pulsing, you know you can disconnect the vibrator. I also was able to use the same charger as from the original Mona vibrator, so if you do end up keeping both around, you can use the same charger with them.

The Mona 2 sex toy is also controlled in the same manner. LELO did not change around the controls at all, so if you are upgrading to the Mona 2, you’ll still know how to use your sex toy. The vibrator features the “+” and “-“minus that increase and decrease the strength of the vibrations as well as the Up and Down buttons that change between patterns. This set-up of buttons is extremely easy to use, and it makes switching between patterns or intensities a breeze. I love the control system on the Mona 2.

The Mona 2 is a good quality vibrator. I’m impressed with the features and the design. I love how rigid the body of the vibrator is since it’s easy to press against, and I love the easy-to-use controls. I do end up using this vibrator a lot for clitoral use, though. It can be inserted, but I just don’t find that the g-spot curve on this one hits the right spot. That’s really not the toy’s fault though – most g-spot toys don’t tend to hit the right spot on me. If most standard g-spot vibrators hit the spot for you, this one should work just as well.

My only complaint, really, about the Mona 2 is that I really would have liked to see stronger vibrations. The vibrations are strong, definitely, and I’d call them on the low side of “strong” (while I would have called the original Mona vibrator’s vibrations as “moderate”). However, that doesn’t stop me from wishing it had some stronger vibration settings when I’m using the top setting. I do wish it had a bit more strength, but they DID up the strength from the original. I’d assume that the strength of these vibrations would be enough for orgasm for most; it is for me as well, but I still just wish it had stronger ones.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the cerise color of the Mona 2 definitely makes me more partial to it. Truly, I really believe this cute, pink, cerise color that LELO makes toys in is, BY FAR, the prettiest color they make. I’m in love with it, so I’m glad to see that LELO made the Mona 2 sex toy in this pink color.

If you want to clean your Mona 2 vibrator, you can use warm water and antibacterial soap. You don’t have to be too careful as the vibrator is waterproof, but a bit of care never hurt anyone either. There really aren’t any nooks or crannies to worry about aside from the control buttons, so make sure you clean those thoroughly. This vibrator is only compatible with water-based lubricant because of its silicone material. Along with that, for storage, as it doesn’t pick up too much lint or fuzz, you don’t have to be too careful. I just recommend storing it in its original box or the storage pouch that comes with it.

Overall, the Mona 2 is a good upgrade and includes great features versus the original Mona vibrator. If Mona’s original lack of power is what was keeping you from enjoying it, I’m not sure that upgrading to the Mona 2 will do it, though. The vibrations are notably more rumbly, but I wouldn’t rate them extremely stronger than the previous type of vibrations. However, as a stand-alone vibrator, the Mona 2 is a good sex toy, and the waterproof feature and lengthened shaft do make it a viable stand-out option. The design and controls are STILL by-far on my list of top control schemes for a vibrator. If the vibrations were just a bit stronger, I’d really never need another clitoral vibrator. Thanks to LELO for providing their new luxury vibrator for my LELO Mona 2 vibrator review.
