The Panty Roses are absolutely adorable. When I saw them at http://www.sextoy.com, I knew I really wanted to have one. Basically, what it is, is a pair of panties that is disguised exactly like a rose. The panties are wrapped up in a cute little design as the rose itself. From there, there’s some plastic green (think fake flowers) that surrounds the rose and makes it look like a rose as well as about a foot-long stem. After the actual rose has been complete, the manufacturer, Pipedream Toys, wraps the rose in some cute plastic wrap like you’d expect to find your rose in at the local flower shop. From there, a card is attached right beneath the rose itself. The card includes “I (Heart) You” on the front with room to write a message on the back.
The rose doesn’t look ridiculously real, but it honestly could be a little difficult to tell from a distance and the idea itself was done in a very cute and fun way. It doesn’t look trashy at all, and if you have a partner with a sense of humor, this could be a really neat gift to give her along with some other romantic gifts (or sex toys – whatever you think would work better.) I showed it to my boyfriend, Jor, and he just smiled and said that was really neat. When I showed it to another female friend, she instantly wanted one.
Something neat about the panty roses is that they come in a multitude of colors: red, black, and white. Red for romance, white for innocence, and I’m honestly not sure what the color black is supposed to represent, but it’s my favorite color.
So how does the panty actually work? It’s workable, but unfortunately, it’s also pretty scratchy. This is not something I’d recommend wearing straight out of the package without putting it into the wash with some softener first. It ends up being a string bikini type of underwear that should fit a variety of size 2 – size 10.
The front of the panty is see-through red flower lace. The back panel is opaque red mesh, and the panties are held up by the elastic in the waistband of the panties.The waistband also has the lace of the rest of the panties, and the entire edges of the panties are also lined with the scratchy lace. It gets much more comfortable after being put through the wash, but it still isn’t completely comfortable. I wouldn’t consider this something that you’d wear under clothing for a full day – just something you’d put on for lingerie for your partner with intention of taking it off.
The panties are also pretty medium-quality. They aren’t going to last for a long time, but they won’t just fall apart. Because of this, I recommend this as something for some very “rough” play. For example, you don’t want to ruin your favorite pair of panties when your partner wants to just rip them off of you, but with this, I wouldn’t feel bad about ripping this off of my partner because they wouldn’t be wearing it too often in the future. It works well for tearing off.
For the most part, this is an adorable gift for someone with a slight sense of humor. (Meaning, this shouldn’t be your only gift to your partner on a special holiday, but partnered with something, she might find it really cute.)
