Whipper Tickler Review

The Whipper Tickler in its entirety.

I actually won this Whipper Tickler awhile back during the Sportsheets community interview.

The Whipper Tickler is a pretty basic product. (Honestly, I consider this to be the “Cadillac” of kitty toys.) It’s a 26 inch-long plastic piece that has a rubber mini-flogger piece on one end and a fluffy feather on the other side. The flogger itself is about four inches long, and the feather, with poof, equals about two inches tall. Each end of the plastic stick also has a little plastic “cover” that goes from the plastic stick to the rubber/feather to keep the user from seeing the glue that attaches them both.

When I first received the tickler, I pulled it out of the box and within one swing, the rubber piece had fallen out and hit Jor in the face which made us both bust out in giggles. It just appears to have been glued in, so a little bit of super glue will get it right back in. Not really that big of a deal – at least, to me. (Another reviewer has had the same problem apparently, so it does happen, and she says a drop of superglue fixed it fine.) It was obvious they didn’t intend for it to fall out, and how else would you get it to attach to a piece of plastic? I leave it unglued (if you shove it back in under the plastic cover, it stays unless you swing hard) because I enjoy taking it out and asking “Cat Toy or Sex Toy?” (They always vote cat toy until they see the rubber end that goes on the other side. Hehe.)

As for uses, it does have quite a few. While the rubber flogger end can’t really be used for flogging because of its light-weight and lack of a sturdy base, it can still be used for light slaps or dragging the tails over someone’s skin. I personally found it enjoyable to lightly slap sensitive parts of Jor with it. (Like his armpits, genitals, etc.)Dragging the tails over my boyfriend’s skin only really worked if it was a sensitive area like the small of his back or the spinal area of his back. It did make him shiver if it was a sensitive area though.

For the feather, you can use it any way that you would typically use a feather. The feather is extra tickly because the red feather part only extends so far, but the white pieces hidden in with the red extend extra far out by an inch or so. This is nice because you can use the white pieces to actually tickle because of how soft and whispy they are, or you can use the red with the white to actually provide the sensation of being touched with a feather. (So is that a better alternative to being touched by an angel?)

From the wielder’s point of view, it actually is a little awkward to hold because of the difference in weight. The rubber flogger tails weigh a lot more comparatively to the fluffy feather on the other side. From the receiver’s point of view, the boyfriend says that it’s a nice sensation to have two different sensations and never know which to expect because I can change the sensation without having to switch toys.

Another great use: As a cat toy. Figuratively or literally. Play with your biological kitties, or if you like to experience kitten/cat petplay, this little toy works great for that as well. I can’t imagine a kitty alive that wouldn’t want to play with the rubber tails.

Storage-wise, there is a concern. Because there are two sides to this toy, storing it upright may damage one side or the other if left in that position for an extended period of time. If you let it rest upright on the rubber tails, they will get a kink in them. If you left it rest on the feather, the feather won’t be as poofy. So if you want to store it on its side, you have to keep it on top as well, because anything heavy on top of the feather will un-poof it too. Not too big of a deal but something to keep in mind. (We store it on its side behind a bookshelf.)

Just like all other rubber floggers, keep this thing away from any sort of hair. The rubber attracts hair like a velvet couch. Keep the feather away from water. Not a whole lot that you can do to keep it clean. Keep it away from liquid, and if you need to clean the pole or the rubber, warm water on a washcloth will work. Keep it away from the feather since it doesn’t seem like the type of feather that will withstand water well.

Overall, it’s a cute toy that will add a new dimension to your sex life. It allows for an unthreatening way to add something kinky to your sex which is always a plus in my book. As long as you have a little bit of superglue on hand, I definitely recommend this little tickler sex toy.
