Wave Dildo Review

Wave Dildo
Wave Dildo

UPDATE: APRIL 2020: The Wave dildo is no longer made – as Whipspider Rubberworks is no longer a company. This review remains for those who are looking to reference the Wave Dildo.

The Wave dildo is a large-diameter silicone dildo. It is about six inches in length with a large g-spot curve, and it is created by Whipspider Rubberworks. It has a diameter of about two inches towards the base of the dildo, and the color and sizing are accurate to the EdenFantasys product page.

The packaging for the Wave dildo is pretty simple. It comes packaged in a simple plastic bag that is see-through and allows you to see the dildo easily. It’s a bit of a pain to package the dildo back into this bag once you take it out, so you may not want to use it for long-term storage. The Wave dildo also comes with a small piece of cardboard that tells about Whipspider Rubberworks.

The Wave dildo is designed pretty well. The blue design of the silicone is absolutely gorgeous, and I love how marbled the silicone is. You’ll be able to clearly see the light blue and the darker blue design on the surface of the toy. There is no texture at all, and the only thing that interrupts the pretty blue design of the Wave dildo is the black stamp on the base that lets you know that this is a Whipspider Rubberworks sex toy. The silicone design does have quite a bit of a curve in it (as you can see in the pictures), and the tapered design allows for relatively easy insertion. How far you’ll actually be able to insert the dildo depends on your comfort level as well as your own personal preferences. You probably won’t be able to really enjoy the g-spot tip nearly as well if you can’t take the dildo in deeper than just the tip though.

The silicone on the Wave dildo has a good amount of drag to it. This means that you’ll definitely want to use some external, water-based lubricant for playing with this one. It tends to drag along the skin which can make it a bit uncomfortable for insertion if you don’t lubricate it well. The tip of the dildo is relatively flexible. It doesn’t bend too easily, but any pressure will cause the tip to straighten out. It stays curved when held up horizontally, but it’s any pressure that makes it straighten out. This can be relatively frustrating if you require rigid g-spot stimulation like you can get with hard silicone or plastic, so just keep that in mind. The dildo itself is also slightly plushy, but it’s probably not something you’ll notice while using it.

The Wave dildo is very similar to the Tentacle dildo that Whipspider Rubberworks also designs and creates. I think that the Wave dildo was probably their answer to customers wanting the Tentacle’s shape and design without the tentacles on it. The shape, the diameter, and the base are all the same aside from that minor change. The only thing that’s different is the lack of a texture in the Wave (as the Tentacle has the tentacle texture) as well as the color schemes.

The Wave is certainly not one of those toys that you’ll want to mess around with if you aren’t warmed up. The diameter of the toy, while it starts off relatively small, does increase relatively quickly. If you want to make good use of the g-spot curve, you’ll get into some pretty large-diameter territory pretty quickly. Luckily, it starts off with a small diameter, so you can stretch out at your own pace, but if you end up taking a good chunk of the toy, there’s definitely quite a bit of diameter involved. Personally, I only use the upper half of the toy just because the lower half has such a big diameter.

The dildo itself feels pretty filling once you do get it in, and definitely make sure to use tons of external lubricant for this one! It hits the g-spot, but it’s not quite as targeted as I was expecting. The silicone of the tip does end up having some flexibility and give to it, so it doesn’t continue to apply pressure when you continue to attempt to apply pressure. It “gives” before it applies all of the pressure, but it still does apply a good amount of pressure. You can rock pretty nicely right into the g-spot, though, and it works really well for rocking against along with the large, filling sensation that it provides.

Cleaning the Wave dildo just requires soap and water. As this is a silicone toy, this toy can be sterilized by a bleach solution as well as boiling the sex toy. It’s only compatible with water-based lubricant, and the Wave dildo tends to pick up a lot of hair and lint, so make sure to keep it in a storage pouch or

Overall, if you like a larger-diameter sex toy or just like the silicone g-spot portion of this dildo, the Wave dildo could be what you’re looking for. If you have a deeper g-spot or don’t like larger toys, though, the Wave may not be the best one for you. With good warm-up and good lubricant, though, the Wave dildo can be a pleasurable one to play with. If you like texture on your dildo, though, the Tentacle dildo may be a better choice for you.
