Vamp Dildo

The front of the packaging

I bought a Joque Harness awhile back, and since then, I haven’t had any decent silicone dildos to put in the harness. We had a couple jelly ones from when I first starting using harnesses, but they just didn’t seem to add up to the awesome-ness that is the Spareparts harness, so I decided to buy this Vamp silicone dildo and I honestly haven’t been regretting it.

The Vamp is a silicone dildo made by Tantus. It’s non-toxic and phthalates-free. It’s about seven inches long with about six and a half inches of insertable length. It has a diameter of an inch and a half, and it does fit into the Spareparts Joque Harness without any problem. The entire dildo is made from silicone, and if looked at in the proper light, the dildo itself does sparkle. It’s very difficult to get it into the proper light though. For the most part, it just looks extremely ivory-white – like vampire skin. Straight out of the box, the dildo has no scent (in the slightest. Even with the dildo under my nose), and even with use, it has stayed that way.

Like all Tantus products, the packaging is very non-sexual. It comes in a see-through box that lets you see the toy on the inside. Aside from that, there are red highlights all over the box, but no pictures of naked women. I think something must have happened to my box in the warehouse since there was a huge tear along the entire left side of the packaging, but it didn’t effect the toy at all, so I don’t mind. The box is a little big for the dildo itself, so I wouldn’t recommend keeping it in the box unless you have no where else to store it. The dildo doesn’t come with a storage bag or anything.

My hand wrapped around the dildo

The Vamp does resemble a penis. It has the obvious head, and it does include some veins around the body of the shaft. It also has a reasonable diameter that you could expect out of a regular male penis. Since it’s silicone, it’s also very pliable. It’s soft and will give to the body if need be, but it’s nothing ridiculous that will make it difficult to insert. It really has about the same flexibility of a regular male penis. It will easily stand strong enough to insert, but once its in, it’ll curve really nicely to your own anatomy and won’t feel painful in the slightest.

No hole in the base

During use, the pronounced head could be felt a little bit, but that’s about all. Unlike other reviewers, I didn’t have any problem with the head catching on anything or feeling painful. The veins and the rest of the texture weren’t very easy to feel, and in fact, I couldn’t feel them at all. It’s nice to know that they’re there though. It definitely improves the realistic aspect of the “vampire penis”. The Vamp could also be used for anal use as well. It’s not for the beginner because of the length and the diameter, but if you are looking for a thrusting anal toy this has enough give (and strength) to hold up really nicely to anal play.

The Vamp doesn’t have a hole in the bottom for a bullet like some other Tantus products do. It just has a completely sealed off bottom. This means that the Vamp isn’t compatible with a bullet or with the suction-cup attachment that Tantus has produced.

The Vamp standing on its own

This Tantus dildo is also waterproof. Since it doesn’t have any moving parts/electronics, this dildo can be taken anywhere you’d like to play with it. It tends to stick a bit to slightly wet surfaces, so you actually might have a little bit more luck playing in the bathtub than you do playing with it in your bed.

The base of the Vamp is about two inches wide. It does serve to hold the dildo up, and it actually fits perfectly into the palm of my hand to aid with any thrusting I want to do. With lubricant on my hands, it can be a little difficult to keep the dildo in my hands, but the base definitely helps quite a bit.

The dildo weighs a little over a half a pound. While this isn’t a big deal (and actually makes it more realistic during use) it can be a little bit of a problem when used with a harness. The weight of the dildo (and the length) made it a little droopy when used with a harness – even when tightened all of the way. It wasn’t a big deal in the slightest, but the weight does pull down the harness a little bit. You are probably going to have that problem with any heavier silicone dildo that you choose to use however. It is harness-compatible though, and because of the decent diameter, I’d expect that almost any harness you pick out will have no problem fitting this dildo.

The length of the dildo along my hand

Storage is pretty important for the sparkling vampire dildo called the Vamp. Even sitting in the original box where I’ve been keeping it, it has picked up small pieces of black fuzz. It appears to be a fuzz magnet. I recommend keeping it in its own little baggie if possible. A plastic one would work if that’s all you have. Lubricant is also an important issue with the Vamp too – since this is a silicone dildo, you need to use water-based lubricant with it. Silicone-based will end up harming the toy and making it tacky to the touch.

Cleaning is easy with silicone toys as well. Silicone toys are non-porous, so as long as you sterilize correctly, you can share this sex toy with others. You can boil the Vamp for three minutes to get rid of those icky bacteria or placing it on the top-shelf of the dishwasher without any soap in it will also clean it up pretty nicely.

Overall, I’m impressed with the Vamp. It’s going to be my go-to dildo for strap-on sex, and I’m excited to own this. The great price along with the great reviews from a variety of people really makes this a great dildo to own and use. Tantus carries this Tantus dildo, so head on over there to buy the Vamp.
