The Under the Bed Restraint System is pretty simple. The set has four cuffs, four restraint straps, and a connector strap. It includes long tethers that stretch underneath your bed to allow the restraints to only use your bed as an anchor point for lots of fun. Basically, there’s the main strap that goes under your bed, in the center, from headboard to footboard. Off that, two strands branch off near the top and near the bottom to allow the straps to be out from under the bed for lots of fun play. From there, each of the detached cuffs can be attached to the strands to allow for lots of playful fun.
The Under the Bed Restraints system comes in a pretty basic package. It includes minimal amounts of packaging (plastic). Of course, the front says “Turn any bed into a bondage playground”. The front shows a girl in her underwear tied up to her bed with the cuffs. The back shows all of your instructions. No other instructions aside from the back are provided. The package can be used to store the entire bondage kit in, but I find that it likes to be finicky and fight with me about it. Sometimes the “pop” of the plastic won’t go in right. It still stays shut though.
The set itself, like most Sportsheets products, is well-made. The kit does includes the one connector strap (the main strap), the four restraint straps (the straps that will connect the connector strap to the cuffs) and the cuffs themselves. The connector strap and the four restraint straps all appear to be sixty inches long and made from nylon. They also all have plastic adjuster pieces to allow you to adjust to your bed’s size as well as your partner’s comfort. The cuffs are made from two sewed pieces of felt/faux fur (I honestly can’t tell. It looks thin like felt but feels like faux fur.) A nylon strap with velcro on it is what will fasten the cuffs onto your partner. I can’t think of a single person these cuffs wouldn’t fit. Because of the wide range of sizes possible with velcro, large wrists and microscopic wrists should fit just the same. The nylon also has a keyring threaded in a little “hill” it has which has the clip that will attach it to the bondage straps on the bed set.
How you proceed with set-up depends on how many of you there are. If you have a partner helping you, I recommend you both pick up the headboard and footboard sides of the mattress and slide the connector strap into the middle of under the bed. If you are doing this by yourself (I made Jor do it by himself), I recommend you pick up the mattress and take it completely off the bed. (You might as well take this time to flip the mattress too.) Then lay down the connector strap in the middle then put the mattress back on the bed.
From there, situate the straps wherever you want them to be. The box recommends either putting them out to the sides of the mattress or on the upper and lower portions of the bed. It really does depend on how you want your partner lying. If the arms and legs are spread out, they will be easier to access for intercourse and play. If the arms are spread up and down, they most likely will end up more tightly restrained but may feel a little bit more “exposed”.
From there, you cuff them in (I recommend starting with the hands since losing hands tends to make someone feel a lot more restrained than feet.) then pull on the excess nylon strap to tighten up the bondage strap until the strap itself is comfortable for your partner but still restrains them.
Like most of Sportsheets products, the versatility is amazing. You can choose to attach the cuffs to the Under the Bed set, or if you want to take your bondage into the living room, the cuffs will all attach to each other for a basic pair of wrist or ankle cuffs. If you buy their hog-tie piece, you can use these cuffs to put your partner into a hog-tie position as well. If you have any other bondage products with O-rings or D-rings, these cuffs will fit right into that set as well.
Jor and I happen to have a full-sized bed. The kit fits our bed just fine, but these bondage restraints just don’t work for us at this present moment. Because Jor is so lanky and our bed isn’t huge enough, the restraints don’t really restrain him at all. His arms already hang off the bed if he spreads out like that. We’ll be keeping the kit for when we get a bigger bed, but for now, it doesn’t really work for our bed. You may want to consider how long your restrained partner’s limbs are before you purchase the kit. Although it works on our full-sized bed, I’ve been told that it works just fine on Queen and King sized beds as well.
As for wear, the boyfriend says they’re amazingly comfortable. He says they don’t itch in the slightest, and they would be good for long-term wear. He isn’t able to get them off since his hands are spread apart, so the velcro serves very nicely as a restraint. He says that pulling on one hand does leave an obvious sensation of the other hand being pulled as well since both of the hands are attached to the same anchor point. However, despite all of his struggling, he wasn’t able to break any of the cuffs or undo the bondage system at all. This includes with me tickling his feet. (He did kick me in the face though. Was not happy about that.)
As for hiding it away, it really depends. It’s quite easy to take the cuffs off then slide the straps back under the back or just take it back off entirely. Leaving them on the floor, I didn’t trip on them, so that’s a good aspect too. We left them on the floor for a couple days before taking them back off the bed. They don’t “Scream” sex toys unless you keep the cuffs on the strands.
Overall, this bondage restraint kit is a great way to add bondage to your bed. It will almost feel like your bed has become a nice piece of bondage furniture. It’s great for beginners or advanced users, but it may not hold very well if you are looking for extremely rough bondage.
