UPDATE JULY 2021: This board game is still production! Sheesh. That’s impressive. The old retailer has gone out of business, but this review remains as a reference if you’re looking for this game.

A game designed for couples and more-than-couples, this adult game provides inspiration for foreplay ideas. With the ability to support 2 through 6 players (including same-sex couples), the game can support a wide variety of players. The game includes a single dice, a fold-out board, an “activities” guide with 69 various activities to play out, six player token bases, and six player tokens. It recommends that you use accessories throughout your home (such as chocolate, ice cubes, jam, and handcuffs) to spice up the action, but it does not include any of those accessories.

The entire game comes in a box about the size of a thick hardcover fiction book. It’s not impossible to hide, but the box itself isn’t discreet (and clearly shows “Path to Pleasure” on every side of the box), so you’ll want to keep it in a private spot if you want to prevent people from discovering it.

Looking for a game that’s compatible with your swinger or more-than-one lifestyle? “The Path to Pleasure” is that game. While the game works just fine with two people, the rules are actually written to allow for more than two players as well. All of the pronoun choices are non-gendered as well (i.e. “your partner”, “your lover”), so same-sex couples won’t have a problem with this one either. As far as I can tell, none of the activities include specific gendered areas either (i.e. penis, vagina), so you’re set to use all of the items that game offers as well. The game comes with six different game player pieces, and it’d be very easy to make your own tokens if you have more-than-six.

The game instructions are really, really simple. Each player uses the included dice to move between 1 and 6 spaces. Once they land on their space number (with a board with spaces 1 through 69), they perform the corresponding number on the “activities” sheet. So for each turn, you consult the activities sheet, and it tells you what landing on that number means you have to do. It’s pretty simple! The first person to make it to space “69” gets to have their own fantasy fulfilled.

Curious what types of things “The Path to Pleasure” will put you through? Here’s an example of some of the things you’ll be enjoying with this game:

“47. Straddle your partner on a chair, look them straight in the eyes, and grind against their erotic parts.”

“7. Know how to use your mouth to pleasure someone? Show your partner just what lips can do!”

“51. Conceal a food of your choice (maybe a sweet chocolate or peanut?) in your underwear, and invite your partner to find the hidden treasure using only their mouth and tongue.”

“11. Allow your partner to seductively run their fingers around your mouth, as delicately as possible. Do whatever you wish with their fingers to show your appreciation.”

While the game itself did a good job with the production and quality on the things it includes, it could have used a bit more attention. There are some spelling errors in various places – which annoy me, but most people may not even notice them. The board looks well-done, so while the game could have used a bit more attention to detail, it doesn’t “feel” cheap.

The game does a decent job of providing mostly “vanilla” options for foreplay ideas. This can be fantastic if you’re playing in a larger group – as it’s mostly activities that everyone will be okay with. For an average couple, it also may give you a fun way to engage in foreplay activities that you haven’t done in awhile. Don’t expect it to challenge you to lots of kinky ideas, but it will turn you on with a lot of the foreplay options – and it lasts about the perfect amount. You get to the end and get to choose how to “end” things, but it does give you a lot of foreplay activities to get you excited for that point.

Overall, while this game may not give you a bunch of new, hardcore ideas to try out, it’s a fantastic way to try out some new (or not-so-new things that you haven’t done in awhile) without getting into too much kinky stuff. For that reason, I’d highly recommend it as a party game for sexually-open adults who are nervous but still want to play with one another.
