Designed to fit your whimsical, fun-design dreams, the Tantus Hookah is a textured silicone dildo crafted with their usual trustworthy, high-quality silicone. The Tantus Hookah dildo is available in a beautiful bright pink or bright blue (both are gorgeous!). It’s 1.9″ in length with an insertable length of 5.6″ – and a total length of about 6″. The dildo features a flared base for strap-on or anal use, and the flared base is flat on the bottom.
Like all Tantus silicone dildos, the Hookah dildo comes packaged in a pretty thin box of cardboard that surrounds the plastic blister pack packaging that holds your new dildo. The dildo is viewable from almost every angle while in the box (great for brick and mortar stores), and the outer cardboard layer breaks down really easily for recycling. The packaging itself contains basic information about silicone – and Tantus’s other toys – though nothing really specific to the Hookah. The box does have a giant opening in the front of it, though, so unless you take the care to keep the plastic and choose to store the box is a box that’s twice the dildo’s size, the packaging is pretty useless for long-term storage.
The first thing I noticed about the Tantus Hookah was the weight. Like, it’s such a little toy but it’s surprisingly hefty for how little it is! Like all Tantus toys, the Hookah is pure silicone – through and through. It’s decently dense silicone, and it doesn’t have a whole lot of “squish” aspect to it. The toy isn’t entirely rigid, though, and you can get about a 45-degree bend to it with enough force. It’s definitely rigid enough to hold its shape though – even with one-handed anal insertions where it’s a tight fit. It doesn’t collapse in on itself at all. The base is entirely flat on the base, and it has enough of a “flare” to be anal-safe and functional for strap-on harness use.
The silicone itself is a nice silicone. It doesn’t have that silky-smooth softness that some silicone has, but instead, it has a bit of extra “tackiness” to it. This is definitely the type of silicone that will pick up hair, lint, and fuzzies (as it already has just sitting on my desk in the time it took me to write this review). It tends to absorb lubricant pretty easily too. When playing with this cute silicone sex toy, I highly recommend adding a little bit of extra lube. It’ll just make things glide more smoothly.
As you can see from my side photos of this dildo, the toy has a noticeable amount of texture – and bulbed design. Each one of the “swirls” of the cloud is another pronounced bump that the sex toy has to offer. And it’s not just a gentle curvature either. If you’re someone who enjoys taking the tip of heavily-pronounced-head realistic dildos, this dildo basically offers three of them – each in gradually larger sizes. They have the same “cliff” aspect of any pronounced head dildo – it isn’t a gradual size difference. You definitely get that “popped in” feeling with each one of the bulbs along the shaft.
That being said, that’s pretty much the entirety of the shaft too. Once you get that final pronounced bulb into your body, you only have less than an inch until you’ve hit the base of the toy. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing – but it’s something to factor into your purchase of the Hookah. If you’re someone who could enjoy that pronounced head penetration over and over again and be the happiest person on the planet, the Tantus Hookah is the best dildo for you. If you’re someone who enjoys the pronounced head sensation – but then enjoys the smooth, unchanging design of a shaft for constant thrusting right after the dildo pops in, the Hookah is probably not your best choice (though one of Tantus’s other dildos is definitely going to hit your spots way better).
The Tantus Hookah does provide that pronounced head sensation so perfectly, though. Especially if you aren’t into realistic toys. Most “pronounced head” designs tend to be realistic – or tend to be freakishly realistic with multiple “heads” on a single realistic toy. The Tantus Hookah solves that with a beautiful, whimsical design that offers that constant “popping in” sensation without an intense thickness, long length, or realistic look.
It is worth noting that the Tantus Hookah excels in those pronounced heads – not necessarily the length. The dildo only has about 5.5″ of insertable length. It makes those inches count, though, as the thickest pronounced bulge gets up to about 2″ in thickness. So if you like toys fulfilling without being too deep, well, yet again, the Tantus Hookah is here for you. I’m especially fond of how well it holds its shape when pressed against tight holes – like butts. Unlike most toys, this one can be “one-handed” without much problem at all. It goes exactly where you push it to go.
As a fully waterproof and non-vibrating silicone dildo, the Tantus Hookah is extremely easy to clean. Warm water and anti-bacterial soap will clean everything up really quickly. You’ll want to pay special attention to getting into the “cloud swirls” on the sides of the shaft, though. They’re decently deep, bodily-fluid-wise, and you’ll likely need to fold your washcloth or cleaning material to thoroughly clean out those edges. Once you’re done cleaning, let this dildo air-dry as much as possible to get all of the moisture out of those textured cracks. Then you can store it how you do your own fully-silicone dildos. I tend to keep mine in a drawer full of other trusted silicone toys.
Overall, the Tantus Hookah is a fantastic silicone dildo – just like everything else that Tantus makes. It fills a surprising void in the sex toy world: something non-realistic with multiple pronounced “heads” without the size-royalty thicknesses that most of the fantasy manufacturer’s craft. It looks absolutely stunning on the shelf, is amazing to play with when you want that “popping in” sensation, and is just an all-around amazing dildo.
