System JO H2o Women Lubricant is a body-safe lubricant sold by SystemJO. Unlike other water-based lubricants, System JO made their H2O Women formula to be body-safe and make it much less likely to develop irritation or yeast infections. It comes in both a 2 ounce and 4 ounce variety, but I have the 4 ounce variety. I just received my bottle, and the expiration of it is set for June of 2013, so it looks like you get about three years to use your water-based lubricant before it expires.
System JO H20 For Women’s ingredients: Propyl Paraben, Methyl paraben, Sodium Carboxy methyl cellulose, Glycerin, Purified Water. Glycerin could be of a concern to some women, but it’s concerned a low risk ingredient. Methyl paraben is much more of a concern since some women are allergic to it. However, a lot of water-based lubricants use it, so if you want to try this one and are afraid of being allergic, check out the bottle of the lubricant you normally use.
This lubricant contains a really nice push-top which makes me happy. It almost honestly looks like a bottle of body spray or something like that, so it does end up being pretty discreet. I wouldn’t think to investigate this from afar. There is a little plastic cap which keeps the lubricant staying nicely in case there’s a drip. Inside of the plastic cap, there’s also a little push top that dispenses a bit of lubricant at a time. I wish it dispensed more at once since I found that I want at least three pushes for almost all uses – sometimes two though. It is really easy to push down, and it keeps the lubricant from rushing down on you which is great.
The bigger downside about this is the bottle itself. There isn’t really any sort of handle-hold or anything, and since the outside of the bottle is covered with nice, high-quality paper to display the product information, the bottle ends up getting extremely slippery extremely quickly if you want to reapply. Luckily, this lubricant doesn’t take much reapplication at all – 9 out of my 10 uses, it didn’t need any reapplication for vaginal use (or for male masturbation sleeve use.)
This lubricant claims to feel just like silicone. I can’t say it’s *quite* as slick as silicone lubricant is, but it’s still really slick. I think being as slick as silicone would annoy me more than anything, so I’m glad it’s how it is. I haven’t had any irritations to the lubricant at all, and really, it seems to work great for anything. Since it is water-based, this is latex and all sex-toy-material compatible which is great for me. It ends up being slippery enough that I don’t need any reapplication, and sex and sex toy use is much more comfortable.
Washing it off is extremely easy too. Like all water-based lubricants, it comes right off with water and soap. It seems to be a bit more resilient than most water-based lubricants, but it’s nothing like the nightmare of silicone-based. I choose to use some Afterglow Body Wipes which cleans the entire mess up. Spot testing it on the sheets showed no discoloration of our sheets, and throwing a t-shirt in the wash that had some didn’t get any bad colors on it at all.
Overall, some women might be allergic to the ingredients in System JO H20 Women, but I had no problem, and the fact that it’s so nice and slick made it a great lubricant for basically anything. It seems to be a well-made lubricant that I enjoy using for sex and sex toy use. Thanks to System JO for sending me a bottle, and if you are interested in your own, you can look into the System JO H20 Women lubricant or look at the entire System JO Women Lubricant series.
