Striped Pleasure Can Review

Striped Pleasure Can
The pleasure can sitting up

UPDATE MAY 2020: FunFactory no longer produces the Striped Pleasure Can. I still have two at my place, though, that I use for storing batteries (they’re actually really useful for that). This review remains as a reference for anyone who needs information on this sex toy storage box.

The Striped Pleasure Can is a sex toy storage solution. The can is made by Fun Factory. The can is about six inches tall and has a circumference of a little over two inches. The can is made up of metal on the inside, and it basically is just a tall, oval-shaped can that has a neat lid that comes off. The lid is attached by the zipper material to the metal can. The lid comes off by the zipper unzipping. The inside of the metal can is lined with foam on both the sides, and the lid of the Pleasure Can. The Pleasure Can also comes in a play gray color.

This can is decorated really nicely. The top of the lid says “Fun Factory” in a dark pink font. The outside of the can is striped in variations of pink stripes. On one side, written horizontally, is the words “Love Yourself” which is FunFactory’s slogan. The zipper includes a gorgeous zipper pull that includes some braided fabric, some beads, and at the end of it, a gorgeous gemmed heart. The zipper runs the entire way around the can aside from a piece of fabric that’s less than an inch long that holds the lid to the bottom of the can.

The inside foam differs depending on where the foam is at. The foam on the lid is much thicker – about an inch of foam. It’s removable from the lid if you don’t want the foam on the inside. The foam is really firm, but it definitely will protect your toys from ramming against the list. The inner foam on the inside of the can is meant more as a liner – it honestly doesn’t protect much of anything aside from keeping the toy from knocking around the walls. The foam is about the width of a piece of paper and lines the entire inside along the metal can. It’s all in one sheet of foam, and it’s easily removable if you don’t want it in there.

The Striped Pleasure Can is honestly going to vary in its usefulness depending on what you want to use it for. Like other reviewers have noted, this can honestly isn’t that useful if you have a huge collection. This is because the small size of the can as well as the ability to pretty much fit only one toy inside. As Carrie Ann noted with her review, she was hoping to use it to store some of her fragile toys like the stainless steel or glass ones, but this honestly just doesn’t have enough padding to make that possible. While the top of the Pleasure Can is nicely padded, the sides really aren’t, so this won’t keep your fragile toys safe.

Basically, what this can seems like it was made to do was to provide great, discreet sex toy storage for those who only have a couple toys. We all have heard about the “I keep my sex toy in a sock” story, and I really think that’s where this can was meant to excel. I don’t think it was intended for those of us with huge-mongous sex toy needs who do need a giant toy case like those sliding plastic drawers or full dressers. I think this was meant to provide good, cute storage to someone who has only a couple sex toys. The small size, cute colors, and the metal of the can make me think that this was meant to keep the toy away from lint, hide the toy, and keep it safe from anything heavy pressing onto it. The cute decorative flair all over it? That’s totally just a plus.

My biggest complaint though is the size. While this will fit most of FunFactory’s smaller toys (The BMini and MiniVibe series, Little Paul, the Bootie, their Smartballs, Baby Bug, Little Dolly, Meany), this isn’t going to fit the vast majority of their products such as most of the regular-sized vibes, their Share series, most (possibly all?) of their dildos, the Curve, anything rabbit-resembling, or the Delight. The biggest problem with this case, honestly, is the size. I can deal that it was meant to fit one toy – that’s totally understandable. But that one toy has to be pretty freakin’ small. Nothing with a circular base over an inch and a half will fit (which includes most dildos). Nothing over six inches in length will fit (which includes most vibes). This limits you to smaller vibes, almost no dildos, possibly some anal plugs (because their bases aren’t usually round). Just making this case a little bit taller in height would honestly have probably improved it. But I suppose it wouldn’t be quite as discreet then either. So just as a note – if you are purchasing this for a specific toy, check your toy’s measurements or use the “View Actual Product Size” feature of the Pleasure Can, and hold your vibe up against the screen to get a rough idea of whether it will fit or not.

All the batteries I store in my can with room to spare

So what do I use it for? Honestly? Batteries. As a sex toy reviewer, I’m always trying to hunt down some batteries to shove into a toy to use and review it. Before, I was keeping them all in separate plastic lunch baggies sorted by type. Well, in the middle of my living room, that was somewhat of an eyesore.  So when I requested this for review, I honestly had no intention of putting a toy in this – it’s just too silly for how big of a collection I have. Instead, I’ve been using it for shoving all my batteries in. And you know what? It’s amazing. It’s cute, it keeps my batteries out of sight but easily close at hand, keeps the batteries from tipping out of the can because of the lid, and holds quite a few batteries. I have at least six of AAA, AA, and watch batteries in here. (C batteries would fit but would eat up a lot of the can.)

So really in conclusion, I honestly never expected this to be a great fit for me for sex toy storage – and it honestly wouldn’t be. However, for someone with a smaller collection who is looking for storage for just one product, this is perfect – just make sure your toy will fit in the can before you purchase it. For those with larger collections, this may work well to store your smaller toys like bullets or batteries for your toys, but unless you have a trusty favorite you want to keep at your bedside, this will not serve well for storing larger collections. It is a durable, attractive option for sex toy storage, though, so if this is something that looks attractive to you, go for it!
