The Stripe Open-Back Babydoll is a piece of plus size lingerie sold by Hot Plus Size Lingerie. It comes from 1XL to 4XL, and it’s a babydoll design which means that it will cover your stomach. It’s made from 90% Polyester with 10% Spandex.
The size I have for this review is the 3X/4X size. With DreamGirl lingerie, this is made to fit sizes 22-26, D/DD Cup, 40″ to 54″ bust, 37″ to 43″ waist, and 47″ to 53″ hip with weight being around 225-275 pounds. DreamGirl lingerie, in all of my experiences, runs on the shorter side, so women on the taller side (like over 5′ 10″) will find that this doesn’t sit at the right place on them. As the material is stretchy, if you are slightly over the measurements, you’ll find that the material will stretch with you as well. For example, I’m about four inches over the hip measurement, and while it’s tight, it does fit okay. (Darn you pear-shaped body!)
The cups on this babydoll lingerie do have underwire on them. The underwire happens to be fully there all the way from the inner cleavage area to the armpit area. This is surprisingly uncomfortable for me and unflattering for me. If your breasts tend to be larger, and subsequently, fall forward more (due to the more weight of having larger breasts), your breasts may fill the cups really comfortably. For me, having smaller breasts, my breasts don’t call forward as much, and because of that, the underwire uncomfortable nudges me in the armpits (I’m sure some women can relate to this). This also means that my breasts get nowhere close to filling the cups and the look is relatively unflattering and uncomfortable for me. I’m hoping that, as I lose weight, the smaller bust area will reduce this issue and I’ll be able to wear the Stripe Open-Back Babydoll more, but I’m not sure.
Aside from the bust issue, though, I do like this piece of plus sized lingerie. It has the faintest hint of being see-through (but it’s not) which is a nice tease, and the material feels really nice on my skin. As long as you fit comfortably into the lingerie, the lingerie doesn’t cling too tightly for an attractive look, and it drapes really sexily on the body. It hits right beneath my butt for a bit of extra coverage, but things can easily be moved around for sexual use as well.
I love the feeling of the material on this Stripe Open-Back Babydoll. All of the babydoll feels really soft up against the skin. It’s like a silky-soft material that glides up against the skin. When a lot of lingerie is made from scratchy lace, this material is definitely welcome! It does have a slight bit of stretch to it as well which helps it fit around any areas of your body that may be larger. The material doesn’t feel scratchy at all, and the only part of the lingerie that does feel even slightly scratchy is the lace portions at the base of the babydoll lingerie as well as the lace that covers the cups of the lingerie.
The babydoll in itself is pretty versatile. You don’t have to use it as a “costume” if you don’t want, but it certainly can work that way if you want it to as well. If using it as a costume, you could wear a high or tight hairstyle (like a bun) with some fake glasses to give more of a “secretary” look. Both strappy heels and regular pumps look pretty cute with this babydoll, and as long as you’re wearing a pair of black or pink panties, the lingerie will match the panties. Do be aware that, if you’re on the higher end of the measurements, the bottom of the lingerie may be tight which make show off panty-lines, so keep that in mind.
The Stripe Open-Back Babydoll also comes with a panty. Unlike most pieces of lingerie, the thong included with this piece of lingerie actually is pretty cute, and it’s not the basic black thong. It is a string bikini, and the material and design is the same material and design that is found on the piece of lingerie itself. The elastic side bands are pretty stretchy, so this panty will fit a variety of sizes. The backside even includes cute little pink ruffles that match the ruffles around the cups, so that adds another nice tough. The panties even include a crotch-liner, so if you find that these panties fit right for you, you can wear them regularly. Plus, they’re really soft and feel really nice against the skin!
If you want to clean this piece of plus-size lingerie, you should handwash it in cold water. We haven’t had to wash it quite yet, but with the softer material of the plus size lingerie, I agree that washing it in cold water is definitely important.
Overall, the Stripe Open-Back Babydoll is a really cute piece of lingerie that is comfortable to wear and will be most flattering on you if you fit comfortable into the size chart and have larger breasts. It comes with a really nice panty, and whether you want regular lingerie or lingerie for a secretary costume, this piece does a good job.
