Sold by SheVibe, the SquarePegToys Mel Harness Supersoft Realistic Dildo with Suction Cup Base is a super squishy, super-thick, and super-long dildo that’s designed for use within a strap-on harness – or for stationary use through the equipped suction cup at the base. Hand-made, the Mel Harness Supersoft is 9″ in total length with an insertable length of 8″ and a whopping width at 2.23″. Made from their 100% platinum grade silicone and crafted entirely in the US, this copper dildo is equipped with a harness-compatible, suction cup base.
Like all Square Peg Toys products, the Mel Harness Supersoft dildo comes package in a clear resealable see-through bag when you open up your discreet package from SheVibe. The bag has a small label with care instructions on it, but otherwise, it’s pretty much just a resealable bag. The bag can function as a way to keep your dildo clean from hair and lint – though it won’t protect your Supersoft Silicone toy from getting squished so keep that in mind.
Like the SheVibe website says, the Mel Harness Supersoft silicone is a very large toy. Noticeably above-average in thickness. Still small enough that a human being could have a biological penis this large, but it’d be pretty rare. Square Peg Toys specializes in very thick, very large toys, so that’s pretty much par for the course for them. Don’t pick this dildo up unless you like really thick and really long dildos.
Of course, the dildo has a lot going for it aside from just the thickness and length. The “supersoft” aspect is a huge part of the dildo – and of SquarePegToys dildos in general. I LOVE their supersoft silicone material. It’s easily the best on the market. We have some of their Egg Plugs and other dildos, and omg, we absolutely love their supersoft – and we own a fuckton of sex toys. Every time we show the supersoft toys off to other kinksters, they’re also in-love with the supersoft material, and we’ve even encouraged a few friends to buy Square Peg Toys toys just based on the squishy supersoft sensations alone. It’s honestly really unique in the sex toy market and ridiculously squishy to squeeze.
Aside from the supersoft silicone material, the dildo has other things going for it too. As you can see in the photos, the dildo has a realistic curve to it as well. It’s kinda neat, actually. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dildo with such a realistic curve “built-in” it. There’s definitely non-realistic curves intended for g-spot stimulation or just to add texture, but this is obviously a biologically-realistic curvature that could exist on humans. And it does! This dildo was lifecast from an actual human penis.
Alongside the curvature of the dildo, the Mel Harness also includes texturing along the shaft. As I mention later, I’m not particularly fond of the visual aspects of the dildo (with this veining), but we’ve really loved the sensation of it. It’s a low-key texturing – like what you’d expect to find on a textured/studded condom. It’s not too overwhelming, and it doesn’t require lots of patience or lube to “overcome” it. The texture is just pleasure-enhancing for all of the regular thrusting and humping you want to do.
Plus, the Mel Harness supersoft dildo comes equipped with a nicely pronounced head. While not quite as “popped out” as some other pronounced-head dildos, there’s still a nice divet underneath the head of the dildo that really allows for a noticeable “feel” when the dildo’s head is inserted. Plus, it can help with hitting that p-spot/g-spot too! The head is realistically tapered like a biological penis, so it slips in similarly.
The suction cup itself works decently well on flat surfaces on the floor. The dildo is honestly a bit too hefty to stay on walls with the suction cup particularly well. With a bit of added support (a rope harness, etc), you could likely get it to stay on a flat wall decently well, but the heft and length of the dildo tends to pull it off the wall without some support. When it comes to floor use, though, it tends to stay nicely suctioned against the floor. We haven’t had any issues with it pulling up from the floor during use – and the long length makes it easier to ride on hard floors too. (You don’t have to sink quite as “low” with the flexibility of your knees in order to get some of the dildo inside of you.)
Like all super soft dildos, the Mel Harness by Square Peg Toys can take a bit of effort to insert it into someone. By definition of being “supersoft”, the toy tends to fold under any type of pressure. It wouldn’t be “supersoft” if it didn’t squish together like that. So initial penetration with the Mel Harness silicone dildo can be frustrating if you’re not ready for it. You’ll really need to use a hand (and ideally, both hands) to help the dildo slide into the hole that you’re putting it in. Otherwise, when the toy meets resistance, it’ll just bend itself in half and slip away from the “goal”.
That being said, that means that the Mel Harness by Square Peg Sex Toys is also a really fantastic grinding/soft thrusting dildo. If you end up doing full pull-outs, unless the person’s hole is really stretched out, the dildo will bend under its own pressure again – which can get frustrating really quick. We tend to stick to half-thrusts (which is more-than-enough with the length of this dildo!) and grinding with this one. The sheer size and shaft’s texture really help that be more-than-enough for pleasure.
If you’re looking for bonus points, make sure to align the dildo’s curvature with your recipient’s internal pleasure spots (g-spot, p-spot) to provide even more enjoyment. The curvature isn’t intense, but it’s definitely enough to get the dildo to rub up against that pleasure spot over and over again.
When it comes to harness use, the dildo goes into harnesses just like a standard dildo. I’m a bit more fond of the flat-based version for clitoral pleasure for strap-on use, but the suction-cup base one fits into a harness just fine. Make sure your harness’s O-ring can handle the thickness of the Square Peg Toys Mel Harness dildo before you pick it up, but my Spareparts Joque and other built-in O-ring harnesses can handle it just fine. Just make sure to use the bag trick to slide it easily into the harness.
I do have to admit that I’m a bit split on the physical appearance of the Square Peg Toys Mel Harness silicone dildo. It’s not one of the prettiest toys that I own. I think part of that has to do with the very dappled texture along the shaft of the dildo. Depending on what angle you look at it, it doesn’t really look like veins or realistic skin texture. It more looks like zombie skin – which hey – some people love. I’m not really in love with the appearance, but that textured shaft does add some pleasant sensations during penetration. It’s not something that I regularly wear as a “show dildo” in a strap-on harness to play parties, but when nobody is really paying attention to the look of it, the textured design actually lends itself decently well to pleasure. When looking at the dildo from one side, you can clearly see that the texturing is actually veining along the dildo itself (and realistic), but without some of the skin color references and really-detailed texturing along the underside of the penis, it definitely can have that “dappled” texture.
As a final note, since I own both the suction cup and non-suction cup version of the Mel Harness Square Peg Toys dildos, I’ve posted some pictures of the two dildos next to each other. You can see the visual differences – which, honestly, isn’t really much. One has a suction cup base while the other has a hole in the base to attach it to most of the “peg” style harnesses on the market (Vac-U-Lock, Lock-On, etc.) Square Peg Toys calls their “peg” hole their “SquarePegHole” feature and their suction cup their “FlushCup” feature. SheVibe carries the SquarePegToys Mel Harness Supersoft Silicone Realistic Dildo with Suction Cup Base.
When it comes to cleaning your new Mel Harness Square Peg Toys dildo, it’s not hard, but it does take a little bit of hand-washed scrubbing. That shaft texture we talked about means that the dildo’s shaft doesn’t have a lot of “flat” surface. Instead, there’s a lot of divets along the shaft that require some extra-love for cleaning. Make sure to do so. I’d definitely recommend washing this one with your hands in a soap bath (or doing lots of strokes if not submerging it in soapy water) to ensure you clean out the texture as best as possible. Due to the supersoft material, avoid using any “detail cleaning” items like I’d normally recommend (toothpicks, toothbrushes, etc.). You really have to rely on over-cleaning gently with your hands to get it as clean as possible. That being said, warm water and anti-bacterial, mild soap cleans it up pretty easily.
And when using lubricant, don’t forget to use a water-based lubricant. Any other types of lubricant might harm your silicone material dildo.
Along with that, supersoft dildo material requires a bit more care than your standard, regular-firmness-silicone dildos. Supersoft is, well, soft. That means that it can get hurt, imprinted, or squished somewhat easily. Avoid putting anything sharp on top of this dildo (including the corner of another sex toy box. That’s all it takes). If you store your sex toys in a draw, try to make sure this guy is on-top. If possible, store him by himself.
Overall, if you love the look of the Square Peg Toys Mel Harness Supersoft dildo and love super squishy, super-large dildos, this is a fantastic fit for you. The supersoft material honestly can’t be beaten, and the texturing along the shaft (while not the prettiest) is a really pleasurable, low-key texture. The supersoft aspect feels deliciously amazing, but it does present some initial penetration care you should be aware of. All-in-all, the Mel Harness Supersoft brings the pleasure of a supersoft toy into a big harness-friendly dildo that’s ready for your enjoyment.
